Cage

What do people think to the jack 72 hamster cage?

I am looking for a new hamster cage as my hamster looks really bored, he has lots of toys but just doesnt seem interested he is really stubborn. Mabye the cage is too small. I have been looking for a bigger better cage. And I might order the jack 72. But need more opineons. It is a massive cage but has no holes for tubes. Does my hamster have to have tubes outside of its cage. or will he just appreciate the space? What does everyone think of the jack 72?

  1. I think it looks a little busy to me but if your hamster is bored then you might be better off with something like this.
  2. Actually, I prefer cages that do not use tubes. Tubes provide opportunities for escape, they are hard to clean, and they pose a risk for a large hamster that might get stuck in them. A large cage with objects placed in it to occupy the hamster (such a toilet paper roll, wooden block to chew on, house, wheel) is much better for a safe, secure environment for a hamster.
  3. I have that same cage, but what I did, was take the extra levels out, and cut a hole in the top so I could have tubes attatched to another cage......I know its a very expensive cage to just take apart and cut holes in, but my hamster is much happier with my renovations of it, than the original design. Also my hamster is a dwarf, and the tubes that attatch to the second level were to big for him to climb
  4. I've never heard of it, can you give me a link?
