How to make the hamster cage less stinky?
I have a Syrian hamster whose cage I clean once a week and it's fine. Recently got two dwarf hamsters, brothers raised together from birth who get along fine. But their cage is stinky, even though I just cleaned it two days ago. Even the day after I cleaned it I could smell it. I use Care Fresh litter. Anyone know anything to keep the smell down? Will they really use the hamster potty?

- Add a dust bath, and add a "potty". Dust bath will take away the moisture on your hamsters .. .. removing some of the smell. And having them pee in a walk in potty will allow easier cleaning, and faster too.
- Try Aspen but you must make sure it has no aromatic oils in it. That is what we use at the pet store I work at.
- I haven't had a hamster in years, but I recently acquired a guinea pig and I set a litter pan with "critter litter" in the corner of his cage and it was so easy to train him. He pooped in the box on the way home, so I dumped it into his litter pan and he knew what to do from there! They make small size litter pans for hamsters that will fit right in there and it's very inexpensive, so you won't be out much money if it doesn't work. I also use Carefresh bedding, it's kind of expensive, but I found it onsale at Petco for a reasonable price. He seems to like it and it doesn't have that weird smell that wood chips have.
- Yes theres hamster litter boxes and hamster "Litter" that is safe go to a pet store they should have some :] or scoop out the wet spots every day
- Febreeze!
