- Not bad at all, size-wise. The bigger, the better, both for putting toys in and for your bird. We do budgie-rescue, & some of the birds we find need medication, and I've found that cages like this one is easier to help catch the bird, because you can remove one of the "roofs", set the cage on the floor, and catch the bird pretty easy. Hope you can find a good vet. Be sure to ask for a Gram-stain test. It's an easy way to guage your bird's health. Also, if you feed the bird twice per day (morning/night) you'll be able to keep up w/his eating habits. It will also help you to bond with it quicker. He needs a little seed every day, but grain and pellets are better. Google "bean cuisine for parakeets" for a good grain diet. Keep it's water dish VERY clean, every day. You can add a couple of drops of white vinegar in the water to keep bacteria at bay. The vinegar is actually good for him. Good luck!!
- If you click on the specifications tab, it shows: LENGTH 14 IN. WIDTH 18 IN. HEIGHT 28.5 IN. SIZE 3/8 IN. WIRE SPACING Model numbers often indicate the size 1418 = 14"x18"
