How do you cut through a dog cage?

I have a large dog cage that I use for my bunny. I want to put it vertically to build a 2 story bunny cage, but I would need to create a new door on the side. First off, what kind of metal is it, and how can I cut through it?

1. You can cut each strand with bolt cutters. It is made of hardened mild steel. You could also use a plasma cutter if you had one and were proficient with it. If you have a mini hacksaw, you could use that as well. Or try a Sawzall with a metal cutting blade. Be sure to file the ends to remove any sharp burrs or points so as to not get yourself or your bunny cut. Farm suppliers sell cage door moldings to cover the sharp ends as well. I'd get them if I could, were I you.
