What is a good hamster cage to buy?
I have my syrian hamster Rocky living in a Habitrail Playground, but i feel it is way too small for him. What brands are good quality and safe for syrian hamsters? I heard crittertrails and rotastak cages are not good. Are there any others I should be warned about? Also, I am not interested in bin cages or aquariums. Aquariums do not provide the amount of air hamsters need to breathe, and I do not want Rocky chewing a hole in a bin cage. Thanks for the help!

- Definitely get any kind with metal bars. My (dwarf) hamster used to LOVE climbed up the bars and swinging from the ceiling bars! She also chewed on them to help maintain her teeth.
- Sorry, but Aquariums are the best way, plus my hamster lives in one and next month he will be 4 years old! 4 YEARS!!!! Just get this top cage with very small, but many holes in them that are just the right size. You might also need clanks to put on the cage because when Rocky might get hyper he might tempt to lift the cage and get out. ♥♥♥♥
- The cage I would highly recommend is here: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752706 It's a fair price and gives you everything you need to last a while. I use these cages and they have done me very well. I would also recommend you use wood chips or the type of fluffy bedding that comes with this cage. Hope this helps. Edit: Also, don't use aquariums because the tank stays more moist and it will smell worse and the hamster won't be able to climb around as much as they normaly do.
