What is a good cage to get for my new hamster?
I just got a hamster and I am borrowing one of my friend's hamster cages. I would like to buy the best cage I can for my boy Black Bear hamster. Please help! I can not borrow a cage forever!

- get a super pets cage there good go to petsmart or pet co.
- you can try the critter trail cages they are really good and pretty spacious.
- I have a critter trail X and my Black bear hamster loves it. I highly recommend it. It comes with a slide, wheel, water bottle, food dish and a petting zone. My friend also has a black bear hamster and she and her hamster also LOVES it. If you don't want the critter trail X for some reason, then i recommend a different type of critter trail cage.

I also like the things that you attach onto the top of an aquarium, so you have ventilation and your hammie can still burrow and stuff at the same time in the aquarium. You can also look on craigslist and ebay for a better deal on a cage...I would do that if you have the opportunity to borrow a cage for a bit. You could also make your own cage http://www.dapper.com.au/cagebuild.htm
- I hate crittertrail cages, they are hard to clean, break easily, cheaply made and hold onto odours, not to mention they are too small, I wouldn't even house a dwarf in one of those things. You want a good cage, go for something with wires, levels and a plastic bottom, my absolute favorite cage is Hagen made cages, the original, they are the absolute best cages, easy to clean, and you can change the levels around, add new toys, etc. http://6dark6haven6.deviantart.com/art/3-Story-Home-30175661 I have several of these, they very in price depending where you go, they range from 30-70 CD but as you can see, are so much fun. I have since removed the tubes and put coroplast down on the wire levels to ease walking around, coroplast is cheap or you can get it free (mine is donated to me from old election signs). They are airy cages, anything small and closed in will hold onto odour. Search around your local pet stores, I highly reccommend these wonderful cages, aswell as those large wheels (silent spinner), they have so much room and your syrian is going to be a big guy. Best of luck to you
- Go to a pet store and they would have a good selection to choose from. The best one I thing is the "CritterTrail" Good luck on your search.
- Get a habitrail cage! they've been serving my mice for 5 years.
- Use this website to help you. read the reviews as well to help with your decision. http://www.petsmart.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2769317&f=Taxonomy%2FPET%2F2769317&lmdn=Pet+Type&f=PAD%2FPet+Type+1%2FHamster&fbc=1&fbn=Pet+Type+1%7CHamster&fbx=0 Good luck :P
- I would have to say that this is the best cage for hamsters because it's big and spacious, includes lots of entertainment for your hamster, offers adequate ventilation while minimizing harmful drafts, and is easy to clean thanks to the deep, scatter-less base and easy, lift-off roof: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754666 This is also a great hamster cage but is a bit smaller, and more affordable: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754665 This website is full of a range of other different Petsmart hamster cages: http://www.petsmart.com/family/index.jsp?f=PAD/Pet+Type+1/Hamster&categoryId=2769317&f=Taxonomy/PET/2769317&fbc=1&fbn=Taxonomy%7CHabitats+&+Cages&fbx=0 Best of luck to the lil fellow :)
- I think it would be good for your hamster I have a fancy bear hamster and I bought a critter trail my hamster loves it and they are easier to clean to also you can add things to the cage like I put a lazy lookout on my cage and that is wear he is all the time
