What type of paint can I use for a Bird Cage, that will be Safe?

I bought a really nice bird cage at a rummage, it has just a few areas that I would like to fix up where there's a little rust under the old paint. So can I sand those rust areas a wee bit and paint it with something safe, and if so, what kind of paint is Safe?

1. A nice eco-friendly and animal friendly paint is Pristine Paint, & Mythic Paint. If you can't find anything like that, look at paint that says pet friendly, no chemicals; lead, or kid friendly. They will all do. It is best to avoid harsh-smelling paints, like some house paints.
2. a pet friendly paint or no paint at all:) paint can be very harmful to birds because they may start chewing and pealing it off. Ask a vet or pet store worker.
3. Any paint that is safe for Children is safe for birds. Non Toxic
