  1. Catch them at night with a bag type vac cleaner;just be careful with birds. You may want to make a temp cage.Do the same in house turn on light and get as many as you can and krrp repeating and look everywhere for eggs and get them.I had a boy store things in a closet & infected my home, cant use poison. It would get me before bugs.Hit point panic & went to war.Hundreds of bugs & two wks later,I won. They lost!
  2. give the cage a mega clean, then mix a solution of tea tree oil and water (3 drops of tea trea oil to 1 1/2 cups water) and put it in a spray bottle. this should help get rid of the roaches if you spray the newspaper, (do not spray near seed or water) everday. this also kills mites/lice/ etc...don't spray on birds, in eyes, etc.
  3. put a really good hook in the ceiling and hang the cage
  4. clean your cage it might be the smell if you clean they might go away. Also try to wake up maybe every hour and catch them by hand/paper towel and kill them BEFORE THE REPRODUCE!
  5. You need to remove your birds from the cage, put them in another for a while. Then thoroughly wash the cage & pots & perches with an avian disinfectant.Get everything really dry then dust the cage down with avian dust mite/red mite powder.Get well into every crevice.Leave for about a day then rewash the cage with boiling water & disinfect it. Make sure it is thoroughly dry before adding your sand sheets etc.Plus of course your birds. I have heard that there is some sort of long lasting insect repellents. From what I can gather they are packaged in small plastic & metal containers. The seal is removed & the container hung on the side of the cage. This emits an invisible odourless insect repellent for about 3 months. You will have to check with your local pet store.
  6. Fristly remove the bird from the cage put it where it will be safe, then remove every thing from the cage, perches, toys etc. Place then place the perches etc in Hot water and bleach (Plain Bleach with out Amonia and with out lemon scent the hotter water the better. About a 2 cap fulls to about 3 litres (Quarts) of water. Wash the cage, perches etc thoroulghy then rinse thoroughly in cold running water (several times) allow time to dry. place everything back in the cage. The place some thinly sliced cucumberon a paper towel around the the out side bottom of the cage, cockroaches do not like cucumber. Wash and dry your hands thoroghly and place your bird back in the cage, after you had some play time with him/her. Hope this helps

  8. This is not good at all they carry sickness that your bird will not,may not recover from..Clean it now..spray/ bomb ASAP For your health too. Take bird out of house when you spray..
