What size cage should I use for a Sun Conure on a five hour car ride?
And other tips for traveling. We are going to the beach and I know the I can have my bird at the house we are renting. We are taking her regular cage but it is too large to have set up in the car. We figure we might as well buy a new cage for travel because she will also need to see the vet before we go and get her wings clipped. So what size cage and any other travel tips?

- a small pet carier is the best that way they cant thrash around much if they get starteld i use a cat carrier for mine
- I also use a small pet taxi for my sun conure and for my umbrella cockatoo when traveling, I use a bigger cage for my blue and gold thou.
- try a medium size cage.
- Go with the carrier or cage in the back seat. I have a cage that it 18" x 14" x 20" for my budgies travel cage. Give her a piece of fruit with a high water content since a water dish is likely to spill. Those baby window shades for cars are good to keep the sun off her. Make sure the cage is secured so it won't fall over or slide around. If she seems to be over stimulated and freaking out cover the cage but she might like riding in the car.
