Dropping a cloudy background from a bird cage photograph in Photoshop?
Hi, I need to find an efficient way to remove a cloudy or gradient background from a photograph of a bird cage (think multiple bars and all of the background through each bar) in Photoshop. I've tried select-color range, magic wand tool. Please help!!!

- For some images there is no fast way of doing something. What you can try is the Background Eraser tool (it is hidden under the eraser tool). Find an area that shows what you want to remove, hold the ALT key and click on it. now when you click again on the image (without holding ALT) it will delete anything similar to that. Be sure to try different brush sizes too. If that doesn't work your only solution would be to switch to quick mask mode (the last button on the tool bar (a rectangle with a hole in the middle) and paint in the picture. By default protected portions of the image are covered in red, and what is not covered in red is not selected, if you paint using the paintbrush, in this mode, with black, you will add what is being painted to the selection, if you paint with white, it will remove what is is being painted from the selection. To get out of it, you can click on the quick mask icon on the bottom and now you will have the marching ants around your selection. Taking a long time on an intricate selection is not uncommon, even for artists used to Photoshop.
- I actually made a forum to help people learn photoshopping (You have to register to see the forum--will only take a minutes MAX...) http://yousucktuts.com/index.php?showforum=6 I will help you. We have tutorials and a lot of resources to help, such as free full version photoshop to download. As the community is small, I don't have that many questions asked so I will only be helping 2-3 people.
