What is the minimum size bird cage for a Parrotlet?
I have a 22"L x 14"D x 18"H cage and I would like to know if that would be big enough for one Parrotlet bird. Please post your suggestions and, or the minimun & average size of a Parrotlet bird cage. Thanks :]]

- That sounds adequate, but what's the BAR SPACING? That's even more important than size. A parrotlet needs the narrowest bar spacing so that it can't get its head caught between the bars.
- I have a parrotlet. His cage is 24" L x 15" W x 20 ½" H and he seems PERFECTLY happy in it. The cage you mentioned above might be a teeny bit small, but as long as you make sure he gets PLENTY of exercise and time out of his cage with you, it should be fine :) I consider my cage size the minimum, but if he will have time outside the cage too, he should be happy in that one. If you have any more questions about your P'let, you can probably find all the information you need from my Yahoo! Group, ParrotletsPlus. http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/ParrotletsPlus/ The people there are really knowledgeable, and they REALLY helped me through all my questions about owning my first Parrotlet :)
- As long as the bar spacing is 1/2" then your cage should prove adequate for the job. Of course, bigger is better for a flighted parrotlet. They like a lot of toys, perches, and stuff to do, since they are so good at entertaining themselves. Have fun with him/her, they are very active and happy little birds with the personality of a large parrot. Absolutely fearless. :)
