Is having my sugar glider and my ferret's cages on top of my dog's cage's a good idea?
My 4 dog's cages are strung out on the floor, The sugar glider cage over the top of 2 dog cages, and the Ferret cage on top of the other 2 dog cages. Is that a bad idea? Not only for any weight factors, but for the well being of the animals?

- it may be. the weight really won't be the problem...but if for what ever reason one of your dogs decides to try to get out...the movement could cause the cage to topple over....it really isn't worth the chance.
- I agree with the previous person that it may be risky but not for weight reasons. Cases are pretty study. I would be more concerned about "sense of personal space" and how secure the animals feel. We keep our ferret cage next to our dogs' cages, but we have our dogs' cages stacked (we use vari-kennels which stack nicely). I don't know as much about sugar glidders, but they are sensitive at all to stimuli or not as social as dogs or ferrets then I'd definitely try giving them space not on top of the dog crates. I understand that it's hard to find space for all those crates, though!
- I wouldn't recommend having the ferret and the glider even in the same room. Your ferret will see your glider as a tasty meal and your glider will be aware of this, leaving both in a constant state of stress. Best to keep them far away from each other.
- Not really. unless u wanna be kept up all night by ur gliders barking
- I would put them seperate..you never know what a dog is thinking or what he will behave like in the next mintue.. If your dog is running around it may make the ferret cage topple over onto the floor and could get out!! you dont want that! also..if the dogs start to bark, it might scare the heck out of your ferret!! Then, the ferret might have some small problems after getting scared so badly and being so close to the anger of the dogs..i would move them.
