  1. I use a very mild antibacterial soap to clean the cage and then I rinse it thoroughly with warm water. I heard some people use grapefruit juice, but I don't know a lot about that...
  2. it depends on what cage you want if you get a activity cage (good for dwarfs) you would take the hamster out of the cage then you would take out their toys igloo water bottle etc. since its an activity cage you should take all of the pieces apart and clean them separately and to be extra clean you can clean its toys. for a bigger cage with not so many activities such as an aquarium (good for syrians or teddy bears) you would repeat taking hammie and its toys out and them dump the bedding and tke a damp cloth and wipe out the bottom hope i helped
  3. Take out old bedding, shower/hose off the cage and tray. spray in vinegar solution (50:50 water and vinegar) and put some bi-carbonated soda/baking soda on the pee patches and spray the soda with the vinegar solution. Wash off after about 30 seconds and scrub the pee patches away. shower/hose off again and dry. Or for an everyday-clean just take out the soiled bedding and in some new, clean bowls and wheel with vinegar solution. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant aswell and totally safe. good luck with the hamster (not that you will need it I am sure) :)
  4. All you have to do is change the bedding. If it is a fleece bedding then clean the fleece and use a secondary fleece which u should have. you dont have to clean and wash anything else really. But I like to change the water for my rats weekly some times ywice a week.
  5. It depends on which cage you have for it. On your other question, I thought you were getting a tank for it. But I don't know. Anyway, you could read my answer or go to: http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-out-a-Hamster-Cage You put your hamster somewhere safe to play. Dump out the old bedding, you may want to save a hand full of the old bedding, so the hamster can get used to its new clean cage. Then take the top of its cage off, if you can't do this, then take the whole cage somewhere where there is water and mild soap. Use a scrubber, and wipe off the wire part if the cage. The use your mild soap, and rub it on your scrubber. Then repeat the process, on the wire part. Then use a rag, and the mild soap and clean out the bottom of the tank. Rinse it out and let it dry. The whole time you are doing this, make sure you have your hamster in your sights. Now put the new bedding, and the handful of old bedding and put it in the clean cage. I hope I helped!
  6. you wash it with soap and then run water over it then put clean shavings in it
  7. Take your Hamster out and put it in a safe area, i like to save the box that they put them in for your way home and then put them in that when i'm cleaning. Next take out all of his toys and put them aside. Then dump all of the bedding into a trash bag. Do this once a week. Then the next week you'll do the same thing exept for you'll want to take a damp rag and wipe the inside of the cage out, dry it completly, and then put fresh bedding in. Also you should clean of their toys in the same manner. give them fresh water and food everytime you clean it. hope i helped! good luck with your Hammy!
  8. use a small animal cleaner spray it all over the cage then use a sponge to clean it, after use boiling hot water to wash the chemicals away and your cage will be free from germs i do that and it works well for me
