How to move finches from their cage to a new one?
We made a bigger cage for our pair of finches, but aren't sure how to transfer them to the new cage. Any advice?

- Just place both cage openings adjacent and tap back of cage where they are. If you leave overnight they will go in by themselves if food is in cage B.
- Here is what to do. Get a see through piece of very thin cloth and got into the cage with it in your hand to snare it gently like a net and capture the bird this way--sheer cloth, or even cut apart nylon stockings can work. You gently surround these little birds cornering them in a corner of the cage with that cloth which should be big enough to open over your hand as you approach the bird. --once in your hand enclose the bird with the cloth and gently remove it out the cage without squeezing it too hard....make sure it doesn't get out of your hand into the house tho. --or try this. Take the second cage and open its door up against the main cage. then wrap with tape are a cloth the connection between the two doors, then wait, or shoo-sh the bird to go into the other cage and close the door! Good luck!
- This is quite simple actually. Move bird cage to closed off room, in case they escape. Have a spray bottle of water near by in case they do fly off. Put a clean towel over the entrance to the case. Insert arm into cage, leaving towel in place. With hand that is now in the cage, gently corner the bird with another towel. Gently grasp the bird and transfer away. In case the little bugger happens to fly out of the cage, this is what you do and it's perfectly harmless. Take water bottle and squirt the bird. Eventually it's wings will become to soaked to sustain flight and that's when you can nab them gently with towel.
