  1. And this has to do with reptiles how..? kinding. go to a nearby pet store or canadian tire and ask.
  2. you need to think from the iguanas point of view.So if it can fit between something it will and then you will find it stuck in between the fence and the mesh. You need to build him/her a whole new cage and think safety:)P.S...i own an iguana who romes my house feely and is litter trained.
  3. Oh, hey. I ahve been there and done that. Years ago I was into rescueing animals. I took in a 31/2 foot male Iguana. Whew what a personality... They told me he was a "killer", but they just didn't know a thing about holding and befriending Iguanas. I liked to use hard plastic that you can get at any large chain hardware store [Lowes, homedepot, Manards]. I drilled small holes in the top of the plastic and around the sides. Then took wire [get it at the store too. It comes on a roll and is flexible] and put it through the hole and laced it back out again. then tied it. Worked great. If you like the idea of plexi-glass around a cage... protects from drafts and the like too. email me and I will explain a bit better. Good luck.
  4. You need to get a hardware cloth. The wire shouldnt be treated with any chemicals or coated in plastic, because this is toxic. Whatever you get, dont use chicken wire. It will cut through him like razors, and has even been known to amputate chickens toes. A dog cage will last a few months, but he will need something much bigger than this. Here is a good website on how to build an Iguana cage. It is very easy and only costs about $50 in material. Good Luck! http://www.ronhazelton.com/howto/Iguana_Cage_Construction_2.htm
  5. Netting screen.
  6. I got mesh for my iguanas enclosure from here http://www.industrialnetting.com/ they can send you samples of what they recommend for iguana cages ... some of them I wouldnt use ... stick w/ the thick heavy duty ones ... you do have to pay extra money if you don't order a certain amount. You could also go to a home repair place and see what type of mesh they have or other items ... look around and see what will possibly work, keeping it safe and secure for your iguana. Make sure that when your iguana gets larger that the enclosure will get larger also. Enclosure needs to be at least 1.5-2 times it's total length ... an adult you will need a space of 6-7ft tall x 8-10ft long x 4ft wide.
