Cage

What cage should I get for 2 male pet rats?

Hey, Me and my sister want a cheap rat cage, but big for them to run around in, and good quality. We have limited dollars to spend. If anyone can find a cage that is cheaper than $35 that would be really good! Thank you.

  1. get a cheap ferret acge thet are cheap but ussualy 2 stories!!1 wow
  2. here is a good one from pets smart http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753281&keepsr=0 it is a little more expensive but its good
  3. When i went to the pet shops i noticed they had lots of fancy mice cages (MUCH too small by the way) for $50 - $60 but i bought a huge bird cage, added ice cream carton houses, ropes, toys, treats etc, all for about $30! Bird cages are much cheaper, have big doors, which makes cleaning out easy and my rat loves it Good luck, hope your rats get a nice new mansion!
  4. $35 isnt alot. a normal cage will cost at least $50, and the good ones go up in the hundreds. but the cage will need to be very big. it should be wire, and have multiple levels for them to run around in. it should be tall enough to be placed on the ground and not have people crouch down to see the rats. ferret cages are good because theyre large enough. even though some cages are labelled for rats, most are too small and very cramped. you should find a big, spacious one. are you shopping online? this is one of the cheapest i could find: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2755108 bit obviously ebay has even cheaper ;) http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GIANT-FERRET-RAT-BIRD-CAGE-1-8M-TALL-RRP-580_W0QQitemZ200230450621QQihZ010QQcategoryZ1286QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem good luck finding a cage! oh, and just telling you, the cage the other person recommended is an affordable price, but its too small. thats about the size of my mouse cage, and only two females live in there. im not trying to say that the cage is bad or that her answer was bad, i just want your rats to live in comfort.
  5. This one's nice. It's $17.99 http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753292 This one is $19.99 http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753292
  6. Most of the larger rat cages will start from $50.00 and up. I would suggest looking for used cages on craigslist or any type of place where you can find local ads. You might be able to find a bargain. Sometimes ratteries have some cages they no longer use. You might also want to contact a local rattery to see if they would be willing to sell a cage.
  7. 35$ would be how many £'s?But a cage for that amount of cash won't get you a bog enough one...instead-- BUILD ONE!WOOP!Cos you can design it and all...it's fun you know lol. Some great sites-- http://www.dapper.com.au/ http://www.rattenwelt.de/index1.html The second one's german but it has some real nice cages =] have fun with your scrats :D
  8. The cages from the links: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... are for mice and other very small animals. To put even one rat in there would be beyond cruel. Please! All the good cages you'll find that are an adequate size for two will be $50 +. Be very leery of any cage that's cheaper than that.
