coating paint dog cage, non toxic? help?!?!?! D:?

Im getting a brass type metal dog cage/crate thingie. I want to paint it black, what paint is safest? or what should I look out for? or is there a type of paint that will coat it like a rubbery type substance? Id rather a spray that coats the cage bars with a rubbery type thing. Ive seen it before, but where should I get it, and what kind?

1. Try the pet store or your local paint store.
2. Don't know if they would do it ,but the rhino coating they use to coat truck beds would be nice and durable. I think they would .Don't know the cost though
