If I were to create an anime, should I make my main character a Boxer or a Cage Fighter? Keep in mind my anime is a fighting anime plus this is just a small part of the whole anime. Boxing is more typical in the anime world and may be cliche but if done correctly can be very entertaining and it is a classic sport and known more around the world. Cage fighting on the other hand is great just because I believe it is more varied but this may take more work to do as Cage Fighting is not as big as Boxing in the world. Opinions will be greatly appriecated. plus the main character is currenlty 16 years old so it would be easier for me to say he is a junior boxer rather than a junior cage fighter. can anyone fill me if it is possible to fight cage fights even if it is amatuer fights at the age of 16?
World leaders.? Do you also think that wars should not happen as it's never the world leaders that are affected. It's the thousands of innocent troops that do the dirty work for those c***s, and that it should be as follows: Each world leader fights each other cage fighting style and who ever wins wins.
What does WEC stand for please help? Not the World Extreme Cage Fighting WEC.. But the WEC that has something to do with Food Stamps or something, what's that WEC stand for? Thanks Yes WIC.. I think... What's that mean?
Who's of a higher standard of fighting; well known martial artists or cage fighters? When people ask how Bruce Lee would've done against Fedor i always think "stupid question! Bruce Lee is just on a different level!" But thinking about it now, i'm not sure. The UFC / Strikeforce is the home for the best fighters in the world. Who do you think are on the higher level of fighting... Famous martial artists - Bruce Lee, Jet Lee, Jean Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris etc or Cage Fighters - Fedor, Lesnar, Carwin, Velasquez, Lashley, Rogers etc
The world of fighting? A kick, punch, takedown, submission all are compiled into this one word FIGHTING. A mixed martial artist is equiped with skills that if properly executed are effective in the cage or on the street. As a mixed martial artist I strive to everyday better myself physically, mentally, and spiritually. In fact I work my whole daily repitue before I practice what I learn, like everyday I work on my boxing first which is one of the most important in my skill set. Then my kickoxing, to work my punch kick combinations. Then my muay thai which is my leg, body, and power high kicks, knees, and elbows. Then my Olympic Style TKD Which is my base of fighting. Then at the end I combine all of them. Then on selective days I work on:takes, transitions, control, and submissions. I usually run everyday. Shadow box. Go to the gym, and learn new things, train, and spar. I record all my fights to watch every detail so I can get better and see what I need to work on. I train daily for hours on in. Why can't TMA respect us?
A question about dirty fighting in self defense situations? Can throat punching, and eye gouging hurt even the world's strongest man who is a wrestler, and a bodybuilder, and even the most determined of enemies? Did Bruce Lee use dirty fighting techniques in his Jeet Kune Do? A lot of people with their eyes say that nothing can possibly hurt the world's strongest man in a real fight. I could very well say if Bruce Lee were forced to fight to the death with a man the size of a huge pro wrestler like Brock Lesnar (not meaning Lesnar himself), or even a bodybuilder like Arnold Schwarzenegger back in his day, both fighters would have their advantages, Lee being incredibly fast, and having far superior fighting skills as well as being physically strong, and yet slender at the same time. I will only say someone similar to the other two aforementioned names would have the tremendous advantage in terms of weight, and raw brute strength. If Bruce was taken to the ground where the enemy would be in his element, he'd be pretty much dead since he just has to use his huge weight and groud and pound you till you're dead. But since Lee can gouge out his eyes and then punch out his throat, not all would be lost. The world's strongest may be huge like an NFL football player or a wrestler, but he is just a man, not a cyborg, or a gorilla that everyone makes him out to be. If it were in a sport fight like MMA cage fighting, then Lee would have virtually no chance at all since the rules prevent him from using his skills, and dirty fighting techniques and strategies. People use their eyes to bet on the biggest fighter in the world in any fight, although in a real fight it's NOT always the case since the much better fighter can still frustrate his opponent and make him play the game where he has the advantage. It also depends on the situation and where a real life or death battle takes place.
Is Versus showing the Lottery tonight? If you go to the NHL home page and scroll down you'll see a thing on the right that will say "NHL Draft Lottery 2009. Tuesday 8:00 pm Versus" but when I go to the Versus channel it shows World Cage Fighting at 8.....am I the only one having this problem? Or what gives? NHL Network has it listed at 9 pm for a reshowing. Flamesfan - Yeah I see it listed there, but it's not listed on my tv. Hmmm.
What did you think of WEC 30? Here is my review (to be published in an upcoming issue of Latin Boxing Magazine). For those of you who missed it, September 5th was World Extreme Cage fighting’s 30th event to date and what a night of fast paced action it was. With 7 of the 10 fights ending in the very first round the WEC guys put on quite a show. Chase Beebe the newly crowned Bantamweight Champion put his title on the line for the first time against jiu-jitsu master Rani Yahya and fan favorite “Razor” Rob McCullough took on UFC veteran Richard Crunkilton. The live broadcast started out with Bantamweight fighters Jeff Bedard and Miguel Torres squaring off. After a brief exchange Bedard gets the takedown into Torres’ guard, Torres attempts an arm bar that Bedard shucks off but Torres uses the transition to move away from the cage. Bedard postures up to begin some ground and pound and Torres quickly slaps on a triangle choke forcing Jeff Bedard to tape out at 2 minutes 30 seconds in the very first round. The action didn’t stop there, Ultimate Fighter competitor Jesse Forbes takes on undefeated Brian Baker in a fast paced middleweight bout. Forbes immediately sends Baker to mat with a straight left hand, Baker quickly regains his footing and shoots for the takedown but backs out and both fighters begin to brawl letting there hands go, it appears Baker is in trouble as he goes on the defensive with Forbes swinging wildly and ultimately securing a takedown into half guard. Baker begins to get back to his feet as it appears Forbes is locking in a guillotine only to have Baker pick him up and slam him headfirst into the canvas. Forbes gets back to his feet and takes Baker back down this time taking his back. Baker reverses and begins to reign down punches from inside Forbes guard. After landing a few shots Baker transitions to side control and then to full mount reigning down punches and elbows as Forbes gives up his back and proceeds to get beat on until the referee steps into to stop the bout at 4:15 into the 1st round giving Brian Baker the TKO victory. In the third fight of the broadcast Light Heavyweight Jeremiah Billington was determined to end Brian Stann’s streak of first round stoppages as he came out with legs kicks and quickly clinched, and got caught with an overhand right as Stann separated. Billington immediately clinched again and both fighters began a little dirty boxing that Stann got the better of landing knees to the body and a right, left, right combo that dropped Billington who was able to drag Stann to the canvas with him and pull guard. After a few shots from inside Billington’s guard Stann stands to his feet and begins to unload on the grounded Billington. After a few solid shots Billington rolls into the fetal position and the referee jumps in to halt the onslaught at 3:07 in round one. Brain Stann continues to be threat in the 205lb division ending every one of his fights to date via 1st round TKO. In the welterweight division hometown favorite Blas Avena made his fans proud by making quick work of his opponent Joe Benoit. Immediately following the bell Avena rushes Benoit with punches who then changes levels to attempt a takedown, Avena locks in a standing guillotine and pulls guard to finish off the choke at just 29 seconds into round 1. If one were to over hear someone talking about the Bantamweight title fight they might laugh a little when they hear that Beebe is fighting Yahya thinking it to be a few strippers going head to head, but don’t let the names confuses you as these two men put on quite a show. Round one was a fantastic display of submission attempts and escapes as Yahya dominated and went for no less than 6 fight ending submissions. Beebe and Yahya come out to a brief exchange that ends with Yahya on the matt, Beebe looks to follow up but Yahya snatches up the champions leg and goes for a knee bar that makes Beebe scream in pain. Beebe rolls out of it and gets the fight back to it feet but Yahya goes for a takedown. Both men struggle for position and Yahya goes for a guillotine choke, Beebe slips out but ends up with Yahya on top in side control. Yahya wastes no time going for a north/south choke but Beebe uses the fence to escape. The Champion trys to get back to his feet but Yahya goes for another guillotine choke, Beebe escapes and regains his footing but Yahya has him in the clinch against the fence and pulls guard to get he fight back to the ground, but Beebe takes Yahya’s back who quickly rolls out and pulls guard once again. Yahya keeps his guard high trying to secure a arm bar or triangle but catches Beebe in an omaplata and uses it to sweep Beebe and locks in a d’arce choke but Beebe is saved by the bell. Round two is nothing like round one as it is Beebe who goes for a guillotine right out the bell and gains side control, Yahya keeps a high guard and looks for opportunities to sweep but Chase is able to keep Yahya down and in turn takes his back and dishes out some good shots and goes for a rear naked choke, Yahya is able to regain guard but appears to be gassed near the end of the round. Rounds 3 through 5 go much the same way with Beebe gaining top position landing shots on Rani. Yahya is able to attempt a few submissions but nothing that looks to finish the fight as he is visibly exhausted and Beebe shows no such fatigue and outlasts his challenger. In the end Beebe retains his belt in much the same way that he took it from Eddie Wineland last March, struggling in the first round but coming out strong from that point on, using superior conditioning and wearing his opponent out to gain a unanimous decision victory. In the main event Richard Crunkilton challenged lightweight Champion “Razor” Rob McCullough. Crunkilton came out confident and willing to engage in a stand-up battle, landing a body kick that “Razor” Rob snatched up and lands two quick straight rights. Crunkilton again closes the distance with a looping left that lands squarely, but “Razor” Rob counters with a right, left, right combo only to get snagged again with another one of Crunkilton’s overhand lefts. Crunkilton again attempts to close the distance but this time gets caught with two straight rights that buckles him to the matt. “Razor” Rob begins to ground and pound but Crunkilton is able to regain his composure and get back to his feet but it only takes one straight right hand from the champion to put him back on the floor. Still the challenger is able to get back up and clinches trying to shake the cobwebs but “Razor” Rob uses knees to the body to separate and a few straight rights later and Crunkilton is back on the floor Still the challenger is able to get back up and clinches trying to shake the cobwebs but “Razor” Rob uses knees to the body to separate and a few straight rights later and Crunkilton is back on the floor this time referee Herb Dean shows mercy and stops the fight at 1:29 in round one. The WEC is on a road to success, focusing on the quicker, lighter fighters who have lived up to the expectations and put on one hell of a show. Chase Beebe and “Razor” Rob retain their titles, as well as several other action packed fights. In an interview with Featherweight Champion Urijah Faber it is revealed that the VERSUS Network has resigned the WEC for another TV deal, as well as Urijah’s next challenger, Jeff Curran. The fight is set to take place on December 12th and I for one can’t wait to see more from the increasingly exciting WEC.
Which match stole the show on Raw last night? The World Title or Steel Cage match? + YWWA No Regrets Results 3? Match 3; Extreme Rules: Ms. Extreme vs Serena After months of anticipation, 1 of the most heated rivalries in YWWA came to ahead as the beloved Extreme took on the despised Serena. As expected, the crowd completely backed up Extreme in her quest for revenge on the woman who had been personally making Extreme’s life hell. Extreme seemed to be fired up and ready for a fight as soon as the bell rang. Instantly she charged toward Serena. Although, Serena was able to dodge out of the ring quick enough to avoid Extreme. The crowd booed Serena’s cowardless act before she got back on the apron attempting to get back into the ring. Just then Extreme came running for Serena and again Serena jumped off to avoid Extreme. The crowd once again booed Serena. This time Extreme was growing impatient and she ran to hit Serena with a baseball slide. However, Serena wisely dodged it causing Extreme to land on her feet down on the floor before being taken down with a thunderous clothesline. Serena’s plan worked as she slid back into the ring to the disliking of the crowd. Extreme soon began crawling back into the ring only to be stomped down by Serena as soon as she entered. The relentless attack of Serena raged on as she pulled Extreme up her feet to send her back down with a big spinning backbreaker. Serena quickly jumped for a pin which Extreme managed to get out of at a count of 2. The 2 count caused Serena to quickly get in the refs face which only bought Extreme time to recover. Once Extreme was up, the crowd cheered her on as she ran to tackle Serena down on the mat. The crowd continued to root her on as she whaled away at Serena with firing shots until Serena rolled hard to the outside floor in a desperate attempt to escape. Although, it didn’t necessarily work because Extreme just dove over the ropes and onto Serena down on the floor! As the crowd gasped at the rough landing, Extreme still continued to fire away at Serena! With all of Extreme’s frustrations being let out, she soon pulled Serena up and tackled her onto the announce table. At this point things were getting a bit out of hand and the ref had to step in and pull Extreme away. This slight second of the ref intervening ended up costing Extreme as Serena ripped off a commentator’s headset and whipped it across the face of Extreme. With Extreme grasping her face, Serena stood up on the table and dove off catching Extreme with a flying DDT that sent her face 1st into the floor! The crowd cringed and popped to their feet to see if Extreme was alright. Extreme appeared out cold and the heartless Serena couldn’t care less. Serena simply pulled Extreme up and tossed her back into the ring. Before entering back in herself, Serena went under the ring to grab a steel chair, 4 brooms, and a ladder! The crowd cheered as Serena pulled up a monstrous 18-foot ladder and placed it into the ring. The 1st weapon of choice that Serena grabbed was a steel chair she used to swing at the back of Extreme just before Extreme mad it back up to her feet. With Extreme down once more, Serena proceeded to arrange weapons around. She placed the ladder up near the ropes, and placed the 4 brooms up against a step of the ladder and the top rope. With this odd placement Extreme’s fate wasn’t looking bright as Serena continued to ware her down. She continued by digging the rim of the steel chair into the spine of Extreme. This was a unique and painful move that could’ve made Extreme quit at any moment. However, Extreme fought through the pain until Serena decided to move on. Serena dropped the chair and began dropping 3 consecutive elbow drops to the back of Extreme before going for a pin; 1, 2, and a shoulder up by Extreme. This time Serena wisely did not hassle the ref and instead just continued fighting on. She pulled her opponent up to her feet and whipped her hard into a nearby corner. Serena then took off running and caught Extreme in the face with a running dropkick. A few fans cringed at the pain Extreme was suffering while Serena placed Extreme up on the top rope. At this point the women were dangling near the brooms and ladder with Serena pounding away at the back of Extreme. Once Serena felt she had Extreme beaten down enough, Serena’s plans became apparent. She hoped to superplex Extreme through the 4 set up brooms. Fans got to their feet to witness her attempt but Extreme began punching the gut of Serena in self-defense. Serena was being worn down until finally Extreme was able to push her off the top rope and send her crashing through the 4 brooms snapping them in ½! The crowd cheered in approval at Extreme’s counter and while she dove off the top rope to catch Serena with a legdrop from the top rope! However, Extreme also squirmed in pain as she hit her side on the nearby ladder on her way down. Both women were hurt as the ref just stood back and watched the action. After a few seconds Extreme made a crawl over to Serena for a pin; 1, 2, and a shoulder up by Serena. The match again continued on between the 2 bitter rivals. It was hard for Extreme to follow up after the 2 big hits she delivered on Serena, but she still had to pull through. She did so by pulling up a battered Serena and throwing her between the ropes sending her down to the floor. Extreme quickly slid back outside as Serena began getting up to her feet on her own. Once Serena was up, she turned around and was sent flying with a monkey flip into the steel steps! Once more fans gasped at the brutality both women were going through to obtain a victory. Extreme unfortunately made 1 error that could’ve possibly cost her the match. Instead of pinning Serena on the floor, she threw Serena back into the ring for a pin. The extra time to do so allowed Serena to recover quicker and kick out at 2. Extreme realized her error by quickly pulling Serena up and viciously tossing her shoulder 1st into the steel post. Extreme quickly took time to hatch up a quick enough plan on how to continue her as assault. She hoped to do so by whipping Serena into the ropes, but instead Serena countered and whipped Extreme instead. As Extreme bounced back though, she managed to catch Serena with a sunset flip pin; 1, 2, and a kick out. Both women quickly rushed back to their feet until Extreme managed to right away catch Serena with another sunset flip pin; 1, 2, and another kick out. Again the women rushed back up with Extreme still in control as she began placing a few kicks to the gut of Serena. Once the kicks took their toll, in an absolutely impressive display Extreme connected with an outstanding sunset flip powerbomb! The crowd gasped in awe as a 3 count began approaching; 1, 2, and yet another kick out by Serena! This time the competitors were worn out down on the mat with the fans applauding their will in the background. Obviously Extreme was the 1st to get to her feet and she kept control by dropkicking Serena from down on the mat to down on the floor. This not only kept Serena down, but also bought Extreme valuable recovering time. As soon as Serena came to her senses on the outside, Extreme went to go get her. However, Serena spotted her and hung her up on the ropes. With Extreme momentarily dazed Serena went under the ring and to the delight of the crowd she pulled out a table! Cheers arose as Serena set it up on the outside. Meanwhile, with Serena finally getting the table set up, a show stealing display occurred as Extreme took off running from 1 end of the ring and flipped over the ropes to fly over the table and onto Serena! The crowd went crazy with a holy $hit chant bursting out! The commentators also were raving about that incredible dive with both women down and out on the floor. The ref immediately ran down to check on the 2 women but could not help them in any manner due to the extreme rules. Time passed until finally Extreme stirred just enough to get a hand over Serena; 1, 2, and at the very last possible second Serena just barely managed to get a sh

The Three (3) ranges of combat. What is the best ones to use for Mixed Martial Arts combat sports? Choose one fighting style from each of the ranges or disciplines of MMA (mixed martial arts) combat, and tell me what three styles I should train for if I want to be a UFC, Pride, or World Extreme Cage Fighting (WEC) fighter. I am trying to make it into professional mixed martial arts. I want to turn pro, but lack the training. According to Wikipedia.com, and various other sources on the web related to the MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Sport competition, all of the fighting styles are broken into only three types of fighting, three basic forms of fighting and they are: 1. Stand-Up Fighting 2. Clinch Fighting and 3. Ground Fighting Thank You for the help, thanks!!
Kickboxing classes? What do you usually do as a beginner...HELP? Like what exercises and such. I am real into brazilian ju jistu and muy thai fighting. I watch World Extreme Cage fighting & UFC all the time. I am interested in this sport and I am a 16 year old girl. Also if I do these exercises I know you build a lot of muscle in your legs, but I don't want to look real manly and such so what should I do ? Wolfpac Leader- Dude take a step back and realize how unintelligent you sound. Read what I wrote and we'll have no problems. I mean yus I have no problem having muscle but I don't want to be super manly.
What sport should my daughter play? My daughter is 11. she dosen't know what she wants to do for a sport/physical activity(lol) this year. she usually plays Softball and Soccer... Soccer season is over, and indoor is out of the question, becuase it started already. Softball on the other hand, hasn't started yet, but she wants to see if there's something she'd rather do. a little about her personality: tough girl... just like her daddy. LOVES to watch world extreme cage fighting. (she has actually ASKED if she could take boxing or a real tough, tough kick boxing class, but i told her i didnt want her little face being punched in by some 12 year old boys on steroids. lol) she is considering i kedou or however u spell that.. it sounds like this (eye-key-dough). she HATES basket ball... cuz well, she stinks at it, and she knows it. NOOO cheerleading. NOO dance. none of that girly stuff... she has also asked to play Rugby quite a few times, but my husband and i felt it was too dangerous... is there anything that she can do thats tough as her and will give her a nice work out that WONT be TOO risky to her health and well-being? THANK YOU!
Do u think randy orton can retain his heavy weight world championship? Sooooo Randy Orton has a steel cage Mach with christian n I really don't want him to loose n then he also has to fight mark Henry for it n I seriously don't want Randy Orton to loose. Christian n mark Henry don't deserve to b heavy weight world champion n Randy Orton has to defend it twice... Do u think he can retain it?
If you are all fighting for somekind of freedom, why are you all trapped in some cage? The Lord said, the world is a big place, enough room for all, so then who got greedy to put you in a place where this is not enough room or things for you? How is that like a jar of ashes? LOL the song is "Spite of my rage I am still just a rat in the cage" Smashing pumpkins was the band. I am not talking on some revolting notion. I am talking about common sense to make some peace of things so you can see intention only. We are in a discussion and so there should be some understanding since from what I was told "There is no question that is stupid", only ignorant answers to your questions. Now the day you take influence of others and make it your reality is when you lost your reality. You have more than enough things given to you as a mercy and a guidance inside of your very body alone and you can connect your mind to something far better than this earth. One eyelash in heaven is far greater than anything on the face of the earth and beyond. ONE EYELASH.... in goodness in peace he says, no chaos and no mischief in the land. Well I guess you forget to real all that stuff before you brashed your judgement upon the entire existance of one question? LOL UNREAL! The Ashes in a jar I am talking about cremation. Not devistation burn once burn twice remember!
there are a lot of religion questions on here...? what about... suggestion... we have a world championship cage fight, with all the religions represented... no weapons... who ever wins get to use their label for what is essentially the same thing... OR we just get them all together for a meeting, and rebrand it - all modern and that way it will be fine... one god, one brand, one image - for social control WHAT do you think ?? any better suggestions ?????
Three of the world’s major religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam share the same god…? Yet their hatred of each other has bred conflict for two thousand years. Do you think that the introduction of ecumenical cage fighting between rabbis, priests and mullahs would allow them to satisfy this blood lust while leaving the rest of us to live in peace? If this were a gang fight then the Christians would be winning by sheer weight of numbers, however I have the suspicion that they only talk a good fight and when the blood starts running so will they. Atheists, tell me where the smart money is going. Alan H So your point is that Jews and Christians lived in peace and harmony until the Muslims came along? Incidentally, is figmental a real word, or did you just make that one up?
The big show vs a fully grown male chimpanzee CAGE FIGHT!!!!!!!? ok so i was going to make it a fully grown male gorilla but i heard that they are like 10 times stronger then the average man. and i heard chimps are something like 7 times stronger (which i find very hard to believe) so who wins this fight? the big show from the WWE or a fully grown male chimp? probably the chimp right?? lol or if not how about this the worlds storngest man vs a chimp in a cage FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

Before you say stuff about boxing look at mma. MMA not only uses hands, but also kness etc.. I give this sport 5 more years and its done! MMA looks to da*n painfull. Guys fighting in a cage and stuff. What happen to this world.
Would you like to see Triple H vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 24? I want to see Triple H vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 24. Like when Triple H comes back, Shawn Michaels is the WWE Champion and then Triple H wants to be the World Heavyweight Champion (while The Undertaker has that title) and then Triple H and The Undertaker fight each other at WresleMania 24 and then Triple H wins the title and then nobody can beat Triple H while he is a face at SmackDown and Shawn Michaels is the WWE Champion at RAW! Also I like to see Randy Orton vs. Edge in a Cell Cage match at Backlash after Randy Orton has be chosen to go to MITB match then Randy Orton cost Edge to loose MITB match at WrestleMania 23! Tell me your opinion about both parts of the question! Keep in mind that The Undertaker will win the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 23!
Am I the only person in the world who hates Chuck Norris? He strikes me as a little sissy girl. I wish I could fight him one on one in a cage with a billion witnesses saying "yes Chuck Norris is a little sissy B****! The same goes for Vin Diesel! Actualy I hate him even more! F*** Vin Diesel and Chuck Norris! They both suck! When I asked this question I expected a bunch of smart a** answers, but I did not think they would actualy be funny! I really liked the one about slamming revolving doors! The fact still remains that these are made up stories/jokes that you people idolize him for. I have met Chuck, or as some kiss a** refered to him as, Mr. Norris and he is in fact a punk.
Why do people not accept that the world is a very messed up place? It's wrong to kill your fellow man which results in being locked up in a cage for 25 years (prison) however its perfectly acceptable to join the army and and kill thousands of people just coz they come from a different place in the world. A lot of the afgans fighting were just kids pulled from schools and forced to fight but its ok to kill them because u were doing it for your country. I understand during the world wars you were fighting for your country and what not but the whole thing was started due to a very few stupid people. All the millions of people that were killed by other countries. The germans were'nt bad people they were just following what hitler belived and werent really in a position to disgree Exactly the reason i dont buy into the whole religious thing that god created this wonderful earth What about all the people dying from starvation around the world there's still a hell of a lot of poor countries brazil, south africa, somlia, ethiopia, zimbabwe ect. It's ok for them to starve to death thou because this was god's plan for them. I'm guessing the majority of people who use this fall into the 4 most developed countries usa, england, austrlia and japan and because it doesnt concern us we tend to be very naive about whats going on.
If all the superhero were put in a huge cage and had to fight to death. who would win? So all the superheros in the world were put in a huge cage and they had to fight to death and the last one alive would win. who would win? i say logan from x-man prove me wrong and just to let you know cyclopes can not metal his claws. He also has healing powers so he cant die. You can use anybody even gandalf from Lord of the rings. you can even use hell boy the gay army if you want. HOW DOSE SPIDERMAN KILL LOGAN PROVE IT!
What will it be like fighting North Koreans, if push came to shove? Would it be similiar to operation desert storm when wholes brigades of Republican guard units came out and threw themselves at the feet of American GIs and started to beg for mercy and lick the soles of their feets and even offered to lick their arses? Do you think capturing Pyongyingyang will be easy to capture like Baghdad was? Surely invading Iraq and heading straight towards Baghdad with negligible casualites with the Iraqi army rolling over is a bit like driving through Northern Carolina in spring time with the top down isnt it? Or do you think the Orientals breed a different kettle of men like the Vietnamese? Do you think all of the million or so men Kim Ying Yang II has in his arsenal will all come out to fight our big ,buff blonde haired, blue eyed Caucasian soldiers? In essence the cowards and scaremongers said that if we attacked Iraq, Saddam had the capability to doom us in 45 minutes, but we saw how wrong they were, capturing Iraq was like a bit like capturing a school yard with 4 graders in? SO will North Korea be the same? Will we all be able to march straight into North Korea and shackle Kim YIng Yang bang the II and put him in a cage before the world and put him on the end of a rope and shout Ye ha!! Do you think it would be easy for us to herd slanty faced Koreans into Prison camps similiar to Abu gharaib and take them photos of them like the ones shown in the media in 2004 and 2005? Thanks for answering my question lets hope it doesnt happen but if it does. my gun is loaded!
How do you stop a stubborn rabbit? I have had myrabbit for about 2 weeks now and I have been letting her outside the cage for about 2 or 3 hours a day. She follows me around and is happy, but when it comes time to go up she fights me and runs! I heard if they dont want to be picked up leave them alone. How in the world am I suppose to get her back in without fighting her? I have tried to trick her back in with treats but she doesnt buy it. Would it also be a good idea to get her a companion?
Miyamoto Musashi- The Greatest Warrior? Miyamoto Musashi fought in over sixty duels, most of them to the death, and he never once lost. He killed his first man at the age of twelve- the man happened to be an adult professionally trained samurai- Musashi beat him to death with a stick after slamming him headfirst into the ground (mind you he was just a boy of twelve). He also fought in at least six wars where he was at the forefront and led the troops into battle. For more about his amazing, and historically documented life, check this out: http://www.danieldimarzio.com/miyamotomusashi.htm In the end, he died of natural causes, never having been defeated (one man claimed to defeat him, but it doesn't check out historically, and if he actually did he would have killed Musashi which was customary at the time). So, the question is- how is this possible? I mean, look at martial arts nowadays. The most prominent example that comes to my mind is Anderson Silva. Cage fighting is the closest thing we have nowadays to real fights (sure there are rules, but it is still combat). Anderson Silva has had an amazing winning streak and seems almost invincible, but he has lost in the past. Hands down he is the top cage fighter in the world in my opinion, and people marvel at how many fights he has won. He is at a level unseen in modern day fighting. But, Anderson Silva hasn't won nearly as many fights as Musashi did. And Musashi's were to the death, with weapons, and often against many adversaries at once. It seems incredible that one man could win over sixty life and death matches and never be defeated. But, according to Japanese history Musashi did. Did he just reach a level that has never been known before technically and militarily? In history, this guy seems to be the closest thing to "Invincible" that has ever been documented. ...about the "historical" exaggerations..in this guys time if you lost, you were dead. The guy died at 61 in 1645. He was a well-know, well-documented person who put his life on the line constantly through duels. The fact that he lived to 61 in 1645 Japan is amazing on its own, the fact that he won over sixty life and death duels during that time is incredible. Like I said, look at Anderson Silva's skills....people think he is amazing, which he is. But Musashi must have seriously broken the mold. No one in documented history touches him.
Gerbils started fighting even after a time out? I have 3 female gerbils (approx 6-7 months old) earlier tonight my gerbils started fighting (no blood was spilt) i deisded to give the two which were fighting a 'Time out' and put one of them in a seperate cage for an hour or so. Once putting her back into the main cage all was ok in the gerbil world once again... untill 10 mins later.. and they started in on each other once again. This time one was hurt (once again no blood) so i grabbed one and stuck her straght in the other cage. Now i dont know what to do. I dont want to permently seperate them for ever as A)I dont have the room for another BIG cage B) i dont think i could handle the introuducing her to a new gerbil. C)I dont have the time to change an extra cage once a week. I have 2 hamsters as well and it takes nearl 2 hours to change the cages a week. a new one would add an extra 30mins probs I love them more than ANYTHING! Please can you help? P.s sorry for the bad spelling :( P.s please dont post if your part of the 'Just reformat it' generation :P Which means the ppl who has a tiny problem with there pc and just think REFORMAT IT!.. even tho there is an easier solution. So in other words dont just say "Seperate them" JUst because its easier to type/ you dont really care and wana give a 10 seconds advice post. Thank you :)
How would someone who is over 6 and 200 lbs and former football player be able to handle this? I am really worried about my boyfriend. He have been really wanting to see a friend of his who will be in the city on Friday. The problem is, the guy he don't get along with at all is a world level kick boxer with some cage fighting experience. I hope they don't fight, but... I want to be prepare for anything. So... This guy is not even 5'10 and seems to be just under 150 lbs. I don't know much about him but I know that he's known for have never been knocked out. If they does get in a fight, would my boyfriend be badly injured? Would he be able to protect himself at all?

Why are so many people so ignorant about MMA? [Or UFC or Ultimate Fighting as they incorrectly call it]? If I hear one more person say the "UFC" has no rules, its unregulated, etc. I'm going to puke. You do NOT simply throw 2 guys in a cage! These are the most highly trained athletes in the world. 1) THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "ULTIMATE FIGHTING" The "UFC" is the name of a company! Right now, it is the largest, but it is only 1 company, the sport is MMA - Mixed Martial Arts. A combination of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Muy Thai and Judo just to name a few. A competitor MUST be versed in standing AND grappling styles - hence the term MIXED Martial Arts. 2) MMA is HIGHLY regulated. FOUR doctors at every event, Pre and Post fight medical evaulations. Medical insurance at the events paid for by the promotor. There is also random steroid testing at all times. 3) There are MANY rules all MMA events must adhere to enforced by state athletic commissions who are in attendence of every event. Unified rules available here: http://www.state.nj.us/lps/sacb/docs/martial.html

What is a traditional martial artists view on fighting? I mean competition fighting. I'm not a 'traditional martial artist' but personally do not like things like MMA, mainly because its all about fighting, there doesn't seem to be much respect and most of the students get cocky because they train in MMA. I train in muay thai, but I have no interest in fighting, to me it looks pointless? and a little barbaric, I mean two people in a ring or a cage beating the living snot out of each other for a title. They then come out with massive egos. I mean, if it were for survival and a better living, I'd understand, like if you were in Thailand and you could go be a muay thai fighter or work in a poor factory somewhere. But my question is why do you not see traditional martial artists fighting for competition? You never see shaolin monks fight on a stage or kung fu masters, or on TV with people placing bets attending the fight. I think that is why in the modern world doubts them. I'm looking more at the philosophy behind it rather than 'Because its too dangerous'. Thanks for reading.

who else thinks there should be this kind of fighting competition? there should be a annual fighting competition where every country in the world even the smaller ones choose their best fighter of any style and any weight class, then they make a tournament by putting fighters in steel cages with no rules to figure out who is the best fighter. it would be really cool to see a Japanese sumo wrestler fight an American boxer or a hindu guy with a dot on his forehead fight some african guy with grass skirt or a big muscular Russian against a Canadian or the best north korean fighter against the best south korean fighter now that would be the best

Evil Supervillain Looking for Henchmen, would you consider signing up? I'm an evil supervillain looking for henchmen, or possibly henchwomen, to assist in my dastardly plans for world domination. Room and board at my secret hideout will be provided. Basic duties will include clumsily fighting against secret agents (one at a time, please), joining in whenever I laugh maniacly, and scowling menacingly at tied up female prisoners. Full medical benefits are, of course, offered, as well as 3 weeks of vacation annually. Applicants will need to sign a waiver, agreeing not to hold me legally liable in case I should, in a fit of anger, drop them into a pool of acid or into my cage of hungry lions.
Did Bush and Osama decide to settle the war once and for all? They sat down and decided to settle the whole dispute with one dog fight. They would have 5 years to breed the best fighting dog in the world and whichever side's dog won would be entitled to dominate the world. Osama found the biggest, meanest Doberman and Rottweiler female dogs in the world and bred them with the meanest Siberian wolves. They selected only the biggest and strongest puppy from the litter, and removed his siblings, which gave him all the milk. After 5 years, they came up with the biggest, meanest dog the world had ever seen. Its cage needed steel bars that were 5 " thick and nobody could get near it. When the day came for the dog fight, Bush showed up with a strange looking animal. It was a 9 foot long Dachshund. Everyone felt sorry for Bush because there was no way that this dog could possibly last 10 seconds with the Afghanistani dog. When the cages were opened up, the Dachshund came out of its cage, and slowly waddled over towards Osama's dog. Osama's dog snarled and leaped out of its cage and charged the American Dachshund --- but when it got close enough to bite, the Dachshund opened its mouth and consumed Osama's dog in one bite. There was nothing left of his dog at all. Osama came up to Bush, shaking his head in disbelief, "We don't understand how this could have happened. We had our best people working for 5 years with the meanest Doberman and Rottweiler female dogs in the world and the biggest, meanest Siberian wolves." "That's nothing,", said Bush. "We had Michael Jackson's plastic surgeons working for 5 years to make that alligator look like a wiener dog."
Question for all- a dilemma? Your other half before you met them was a world champion at strike and grapple and black belt at kick boxing and since being with them they have achieved a black belt in taekwondo. now they want to do cage fighting. cage fighting if u have not seen it on youtube involves beating the opponent to submission- the only rules are you cannot gouge eyes out, fish hook or hit in the genitals. if u have seen the clips you see opponents pinned to the floor, being hit repeatedly in the head, or else on the floor being kicked by the opposition or stomped on. if this was your other half what would you do? im in a dilemma- i want him to follow his dreams but i dont want him to get seriously hurt
Is the name Gemini copyrighted or is it possible to get it copyrighted? Here's my story. I don't like UFC, MMA or cage fighting. I don't care if they are a Gemini I still don't want them to use that name and ruin a perfectly good zodiac name. I do not support any of that barbaric crap. I do not want them to use the name Gemini I would let people use it that do not cage fight, or are not in ufc and mma. I don't want them to use it but anyone else can. How would I go about preventing them from using that name. I am a Gemini who is not desensitized like the rest of the world.

Would this be considered a Goth poem? Wages of Sin by Gerard Kuc As Michael awaits the dawn of Light unseen armies lurk upon a cold and indifferent world a fertile plane where angels grow and demons know the hour of battle is at hand though guns and knives may take the body it is the spirit where the war is wage it is the treatment of children that comes the rage- the abused the prostitutes the poor all locked into the worlds cruel cage So two sides fight, and with two weapons they bleed one with the dagger of confusion one with the sword of clarity but with both weapons mans mind does feed Which side is stronger depends on the soul for the wages of sin is death But Death being an angel on both good side and bad it can also be a matter of compassion- or lack thereof... and the blood stained Gabriel

IFL, the next big thing? I enjoy ring fights more than cage fights, I also like how it is a team aspect, my question is since it is a team aspect, will we see more teams like the gracies or chuta box, from around the world. Since most pride fighters hate the cage do think they will transform over to the IFL?

Whats the name of this anime movie ? its a movie, not a show ( at least if it is a show too i didnt watch it ) its two main charachters were two brothers, one older one younger the younger brother had some kinda of special fighing power theres a cage fight scene the little brother goes missing and the older brother finds him in this pasture, sitting in the grass all retarted, and theres other ppl in the feild and they've all turned mindless by the people or organization or whatever. and theres allot of fighting in the movie. and you can watch it in english. and the brothers both had dark hair. and i remeber a scene where the little brother is talking about the horizon and stuff and the other side of the world where he used to live. is this the only way i can answer ppl or is there an easier way to cooment back ? it wasnt that movie, the older brother is allot older than the younger brother, and they didnt look like that, and the setting didnt look the same either...is there more than one version of the movie ??? no im not courtney w/e it was.

Pride vs UFC? Ok. I never got into the arguement much on acount that it is dumb. Now I have something to say. OK, crocop was suposed to dominate the heavy weight division. Jeff Monson submitted Fujita. Nick diaz submitted Gommy, and these aren't even really rank fighters in the ufc. Rampage was not the best he could be until he started training in a ufc camp. Anderson Silva dominated The 185 division but he lost in pride but I'd put him against Chonan now. And also he was really never a PRIDE fighter he was always Cage Rage. I think its time to admit that the best fighters in the world fought in more orginasations than just one. the best fighters around the world are from all around the world and fight were they want, Not were you want I don't know who gave the thumbs down. you all got one from me.

Are Homo Sapiens rly supreme when compared with other human-like groups from the past such as the Neanderthals? Well, or else why are we the only ones to survive? I know that Homo Sapiens are the only ones to survive to the modern days Homo Sapien Sapiens rite? Then how about the other human-like civilizations that are not really genetically related to us? I mean the ones which wouldn't have eventually evolved into Homo Sapiens Sapiens but something else? There was the theory about the survival of the fittest, well are we the fittest among them? Or are we just mentally more intelligent and out-smarted them in major past conflicts? Cus humanoids such as the Neanderthals are said to have survived in extreme cold conditions, I know they had a bigger face (Eyebrows, noes, mouth) that represent apes a little more then us(Perhaps that's just becus they ain't fully evolved yet). But then many scientists claims that they had storky bodies that are naturally allot more muscular than us, well, is that true? So, what if you pick a modern human, and a Neanderthal, and have a fair and nuetral, unbaised MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) coach or sumthin' to train them both into UFC fighters or so, then pit them both in a cage- fight? Lol I ain't being cruel alrite, But then, seriously, who will win? I also wish to compare other humans or other future human civilizations though I just don't know all their names. As a result, are we actually getting more intelligent but physically weaker during evolution? BUT, there had been real proof suggesting that the people in the 21st century (Modern world) is way better than the people living in the 18th- 19th century allot more in sports and Olympic performances due to environment, not regarding pollution, but we are economically more advance and have more advantages due to the resources we have? Notice that we ARE breaking records each year...? Anyway, perhaps in the far future, after a nuclear war or somethin' (Which we hope that doesn't occur or else us humans had not learnt history), if some of us manages to survive, we may evolve radiation shielding skin and stuff like that, cus the body- built would need to adapt, and these genes would almost definatley be inherited by the next generations..."And when I say radiation shielding I don't mean we grow human-sized croacrotch shells behind all of our backs..."- LOL! And I do kno that most of us modern humans had inherited 5 % amount of genes from our sub- ancestors the *neanderthal humans* ok? But that's not what I'm trying to say because we are still 99.5 % Homo Sapien Sapiens, thats why we ain't Homo Sapiens any more...

Hey Ive never done a cover letter before.. Is this one okay and/or does anyone have any advice? I could feel the heat on my body like 1000 flamethrowers. A million things were running through my head. I knew this would be my moment. I dashed toward the line and executed a perfect 720 vertical flip with my bike. My bike is my passion, just like my passion for your company. Hi, my name is Billy Goldstein and I am the best candidate to fill this position for your company. Im unpresumptiously intelligent, fastidiously fervent, and I've got the can-do spirit. People often say they can't believe how fast and good I work, well that was before I worked at your company. They're in for a rude awakening when I join your organization. I've traveled all around the world. I've swam in 15 seas, and I've been in numerous street fights, cages fights, and I've seen some real hum-dingers. I've gone 100 meters under the sea and meditated in the 14,400 foot peak of Pike's peak in Colorado. I'm really good at answering emails and making documents in microsoft word and I am flexible in my travel schedule. Even though I don't know you, I feel that we are kindred spirits as you read this cover letter. You were put on earth for a purpose, and perhaps that purpose is manifesting itself as you read my resume. I really hope to hear back from your company. You can mail, call, or e-mail me any time of day. Thank you. Sincerely, I forgot to mention.. This is for a Branch manager position at a large bank chain. And I'm 29 years old. And I'm a red belt with 3 stripes in karate (Tae Kwon Do) among other things. I thought professionals sent cover letters how is this not professional? Please help, please.

This is really funny. Star for a smile. Did you smile? One Night Stand? Who likes the championship match card? Khali vs. WWE champion John Cena (false count anywere) Bobby Lashley vs. ECW World champion Vince (street fight) Batsita vs. World Heavyweight champion Edge (steel cage) Which one's going to be the worst championship match and which one's the best championship match? In your opinion? And who liked last years one night stand when RVD won the WWE title from Cena. I did even though I don't like RVD I was still glad to see Cena lose the title.
Doggie Fight? Bush and Osama decided to settle the war once and for all. They sat down and decided to settle the whole dispute with one dog fight. They would have five years to breed the best fighting dog in the world. Osama found the biggest, meanest Doberman and Rottweiler female dogs in the world and bred them with the meanest Siberian wolves. They selected only the biggest and strongest puppy from the litter and removed his siblings, which gave him all the milk. After five years they came up with the biggest, meanest dog the world had ever seen. Its cage needed steel bars that were five inches thick and nobody could get near it. When the day came for the dog fight, Bush showed up with a strange looking animal. It was a nine foot long dachshund. Everyone felt sorry for Bush because there was no way that this dog could possibly last ten seconds with the vicious Afghani dog. When the cages were opened up, the dachshund came out of its cage and slowly waddled over towards Osama's dog. Osama's dog snarled and leaped out of its cage and charged the American dachshund -- but when it got close enough to bite, the dachshund opened it's mouth and consumed Osama's dog in one bite. There was nothing left of his dog at all. Osama came up to Bush, shaking his head in disbelief. "We don't understand how this could have happened. We spent $250,000 and had our best people working for five years with the meanest Doberman and Rottweiler female dogs in the world and the biggest, meanest Siberian wolves." "That's nothing," said Bush. "We spent 2.5 million dollars and had the best plastic surgeons working for five years to make that alligator look like a weenie dog."
Can anyone give me a good reason why everyone thinks Fedor is the best MMA fighter in the world? Fedor has not fought anyone tough besides Noguiera which he fought three times against won by decision twice and a no contest, no other fighter has fought Fedor more than twice without being knocked out. I think that Noguiera is the best heavyweight right now. At least he is man enough to sign to UFC and fight the best, you do not see Fedor in the UFC. So until Fedor stops being a little punk and steps into a UFC cage he is not the best heavyweight, Noguiera is. Prove to me other wise.... You say Fedor is the best just because he dominated pride!!! Thats a bunch of crap because all PRIDE had was old fighters with popular names. Most of those fighters started in the UFC, but when they pasted their prime or got to old they were forced to go to PRIDE. Dominating PRIDE is not an accomplishment!!!

Can you name some reasons to go vegetarian? ONE HUNDRED & ONE REASONS TO GO VEGETARIAN People Land Air Water Efficiency Animals Health PEOPLE Every year in the UK we feed our livestock enough food to feed 250,000,000 people while in the world 30,000,000 people die of starvation 20 vegetarians can live off the land required by one meat eater Every 3 seconds a child dies of starvation somewhere in the world If Americans reduced their meat consumption by 10% it would free 12,000,000 tons of grain - enough to feed 60,000,000 people (the population of Great Britain) If all Americans became vegetarian, it would free enough grain to feed 600,000,000 people (the population of India) Intensification in animal farming has displaced 1,000,000's of people from their traditional lands - eg. indigenous people in south & central america, native americans in north america & crofters in Great Britain - this is continuing today People displaced from their lands into cities succumb to dietary deficiency, diseases, parasites & opportunistic diseases In third world countries 1 in 10 babies die before their first birthday The UK imports £46,000,000 worth of grain from third world countries to feed our livestock Due to overgrazing 850,000,000 people live on land threatened by desertification & over 230,000,000 already live on land so severely desertified that they are unable to sustain their existence & face imminent starvation 1,000,000,000 people in the west gorging on meat & dairy leave 1,000,000,000 to waste away & 3,500,000,000 teeter on the brink LAND If they continue to clear American forests to raise cattle at the present rate, in 50 years there will be none left 1 acre yields 165 lbs of beef or 20,000 lbs of potatoes 8/10 of cultivated land in the UK is used to grow food for animals (14,732,000 hectares) It takes 16lbs of high protein soya to produce 1 lb of beef Since 1945 in the UK we have lost 95% of flower meadows, 50% of ancient woodlands, 40% of heathlands, 50% of wet lands & 224,000 km of hedgerows all due to animal farming Pressure on land due to meat farming leads to soil erosion 6billion tons/year in the USA If everyone went vegetarian upto 90% of land used for animal farming could be taken out of production & used to replant woodlands, leisure activities etc. 25% of Central america's forests have been destroyed for cattle grazing since 1960 Between 1966-1983 38% of the Amazon rain forest was destroyed for cattle grazing 90% of cattle ranches established on cleared forest land go bankrupt in less than 8 years as the land becomes barren due to nutrient loss & overgrazing Overgrazing by cattle is destroying the land & increasing desertification, nearly 430 million acres in the USA alone has suffered a 25-50% reduction in yield since first grazed An inch of topsoil takes 200-1000 years to develop - yet in the USA they have lost around 1/3 of their prime topsoil in 200 years (around 7 inches) due to animal farming Land will be lost due to rises in sea level due to global warming due to animal farming AIR The destruction of the rainforest by cattle farmers is destroying the lungs of the planet & reducing the worlds capacity to replenish our oxygen supply The 1,300,000,000 cattle in the world emit 60,000,000 tons of methane per year (methane is a greenhouse gas & leads to global warming) Burning of forests, grasslands & agricultural waste associated with animal farming releases 50-100,000,000 tons of methane per year Combining these figures, 25% of methane emissions are due to animal farming (not including the billions of sheep, pigs & poultry so the real figure is much higher) Fertilizer used to grow crops to feed to animals releases nitrous oxide - thought to account for 6% of the greenhouse effect Fertilizer, weedkiller & pesticides sprayed on crops enter the atmosphere creating a noxious carcinogenic cocktail CFCs are released into the air from refrigeration units used to store decomposing flesh (meat), milk & butter - CFCs are destroy the ozone layer Ammonia from animal urine also pollutes the atmosphere CO2 is released by burning oil & petrol in lorries, ships, abattoirs, dairies, factories etc. associated with meat & dairy production Emissions from large chemical plants which produce fertilizer, weedkiller & other agricultural chemicals are also poisoning our air WATER 25 gallons of water to produce 1lb of wheat & 2500 gallons to produce 1lb of meat UK farm animals produce 200,000,000 tonnes of slurry (liquid excrement) every year, the majority of which ends up in our rivers Bloody waste water from abattoirs ends up in our rivers In the USA every second humans produce 12,000 lbs of effluent while farmed animals produce 250,000 lbs Nitrates & pesticides used on crops grown to feed livestock end up in our rivers Meat & dairy farming uses 70 litres of water per day per animal in the UK or 159,250,000,000 litres per year in total The water used to produce 10 lbs of steak is equivalent to the average consumption of water for an entire household for an entire year Depletion of groundwater reserves to grow crops for animals & to supply abattoirs will lead to greater water shortages Aquafers (stores of underground water) in the San Joaquin valley in the USA are being drained at the rate of 500,000,000,000 gallons/year to produce meat 18% of all agricultural land in the world is irrigated & as global warming increases (partly due to animal farming) it will cost $200,000,000 to keep these systems going The water used to produce a 1000 lb beef steer is enough to float a Destroyer battleship The liquid waste from the various parts of the meat & dairy industry flow into the rivers & from there into the seas polluting them & encouraging huge algal blooms to grow EFFICIENCY To produce 1calorie of energy from meat takes 60 calories of petrol, whereas growing grains & legumes to directly feed people produces 20 calories for each calorie of fuel used ( thats 1200 times more efficient) Meat & dairy farming uses billions of gallons of oil to run tractors, fuel ships & lorries (to move animal feed & animals), pump billions of gallons of water to irrigate fields & run slaughterhouses, power refrigeration units to prevent the corpses from decomposing & to power sewage plants to clean up some of the pollution produced Cattle convert only 6% of their energy intake (mainly grains & soya) into flesh, the remaining 94% is wasted as heat, movement (which is why they keep many animals in very close confinement), hair, bones, faeces etc 1lb of beef takes 1 gallon of petrol to produce A family of four eating beef for a year uses enough petrol to run a car for 6 months (obviously depending on how far you drive!) If the full ecological cost of meat was passed onto the consumer - the price would be quadrupled (at least) The EC spends œ100,000,000's to subsidise animal production resulting in lakes of unwanted milk & mountains of unwanted meat & butter. This money could be better spent encouraging organic fruit, vegetable & grain production In the USA in 1979 145,000,000 tons of crops were fed to cattle resulting in only 21million tons of animal bodies - the cost of the wasted crops was $20,000,000,000 Between 1950 & 1985 grain production in Europe & the USA increased massively but 2/3 was fed to animals 70% of all grain is fed to animals Eating vast quantities of animal flesh, eggs, milk & butter is a luxury that most of the planet can not afford ANIMALS Fishing with drift (and other modern) nets weakens & destroys ecosystems by indiscriminately killing billions of sea creatures & disrupting the sea bed Fishermen's nets kill 10 times as many other animals as the fish they are hoping to catch Fish caught in nets die an agonising slow death of suffocation Each year 15,000,000,000 land animals are slaughtered for food & an unknown but much larger number of sea creatures (including 1000's of dolphins caught accidentally) Chickens are crammed into battery cages with upto 3 other birds, they are unable to even spread their wings & many can not even stand up Unwanted male chicks (because they can't lay eggs) are gassed or pulped while their sisters go to the battery sheds Chicks are debeaked without anaesthetic to prevent them injuring each other in the unnaturally confined conditions they are kept in - this is equivalent to having your fingernails pulled out without anaesthetic Modern farming methods using growth hormones & artificial lighting mean that many chickens out grow their bones, resulting in fractured & broken legs Sows are kept tethered in stalls 1.3 x 1 metre on concrete or slatted floors - they can not even turn around Poultry raised for meat are kept in windowless broiler sheds, with around 20-30,000 in each shed, they live in an area of 10-20 cm square - fighting due to overcrowding is common & like battery hens they commonly suffer from supperating bed sores Broilersheds are artificially lit 23 hours a day to produce rapid growth Animals travel between farms & to slaughter in overcrowded transporters with no food or water - resulting in stress, injuries & deaths - legal requirements are widely ignored 95% of poultry suffer injuries before being killed & 30% suffer broken bones Problems with stunning practices mean that many animals have their throats slit while still conscious (around 6% of cattle or 200,000 per year) & are then dipped in tanks of scalding water (to loosen feathers, bristles etc.) again while fully conscious 4000 animals die spurting their blood out every minute in a British slaughterhouse Calf leather comes from animals killed at just 2 weeks old Cows were fed on the ground up remains of other cows & sheep - the result is thought to be BSE (mad cow disease) in the USA cattle are fed partly on recycled plastic pellets Cows only give milk for 10 months after they have a calf - so they are routinely artificially inseminated (ie. mechanically raped) to keep them pregnant & milking - their calves are taken away (usually at 12 hours old) for meat or export to veal crates Cows would naturally live upto 20 years but are slaughtered after 5-7 years when their milk production begins to fall In the UK animals are killed by first being stunned with electricity or a captive bolt gun (ie. a bolt is fired into their heads) before having their throats slit & being plunged into boiling water - all this happens on a production line with the animals being hung upside down from a moving conveyor belt - this is factory farming "Animals are those unfortunate slaves & victims of the most brutal part of mankind" - John Stewart Mill (philosopher) Veal calves are confined in stalls in the dark, unable to move & are fed on pigs blood , chocolate & dried milk (we are drinking the rich fresh milk of their mothers) Cows naturally produce 5 litres of milk per day for their calves - under the intensified systems of modern farming they produce 25-40 litres per day - resulting in swollen & inflamed udders - at this rate they are soon worn out Large areas of land are under monoculture to grow crops to feed to animals - these areas are wildlife deserts supporting fewer & fewer species. HEALTH Vegetarians have a 20% lower rate of mortality from all causes (ie. they live longer & don't get sick as often) Meat is full of traces of antibiotics, hormones, toxins produced by stress & pesticide residues that become concentrated from all the crops they have eaten Fish contain heavy metals & other pollutants -many of which originated on farms The world health organisation recommends a diet low in saturated fat, sugar, salt & with plenty of fibre - exactly what you get on a vegan/vegetarian diet Farmed animals contain upto 50% saturated fat in their bodies Vegetarians have 24% reduced risk of getting heart disease & Vegans a 57% reduction (heart disease is the biggest killer in the UK accounting for 50% of deaths) Obesity is rare in vegetarians, obesity is related to many diseases Vegans & vegetarians have lower blood pressure & cholesterol levels - high levels are associated with heart disease, strokes & kidney failure Vegetarians have a 50% reduced risk of dying of diabetes Vegetarians have a 40% reduced level of cancer than the general population thought to be because they have a higher intake of vitamins A,C & E Vegetarians have a reduced risk of developing gall & kidney stones 80% of food poisoning is due to infected meat (faeces, bacteria etc.) after all meat is decomposing flesh - most of the rest is due to salmonella in eggs Osteoporosis due to calcium loss from bones is mainly due to the sulphur content in meat & casein protein in milk that cause calcium to be lost in the urine - the countries with the highest meat & dairy consumption are those with the highest levels of brittle bones 50% of people do not have the enzyme to digest milk properly & milk allergy is related to asthma & eczema Meat eaters have double the rate of Alzheimers disease as Vegans & Vegetarians - some people also think that Parkinsons disease is also linked to meat eating Egg yolk is a dense concentration of saturated fat & the white is high in albumin protein associated with leaching calcium into your urine. Butter is 80% saturated fat, cream is 40% saturated fat & cheese is 25-40% saturated fat Meat eaters are two and a half times more likely to get bowel cancer than Vegetarians The cling film used to wrap meat in supermarkets & butchers contains chemicals linked to falling sperm counts in men Chinese people (living mainly on a vegetarian diet) consume 20% more calories than Americans but Americans are 20% fatter Of 2,100,000 deaths in the USA in 1987, 1,500,000 were related to diet (ie. meat & dairy) AND I COULD GO ON ! If you've read this far, I hope that you are beginning to see that the Meat & Dairy industry is a major contributor to misery on this planet. It is destroying the health of people in rich countries, starving those in poor countries, it is torturing & killing billions of animals every year and in the meantime it is one of the major factors in the destruction of the environment - so what does the meat & dairy industry have to say in it's defence? Well their only real point is usually "Meat is tasty" - fair enough a lot of people enjoy the taste of meat - but there are plenty of delicious alternatives (just consider the huge range of vegetarian dishes in Indian cooking - one of the oldest & most sophisticated cuisines in the world) and if you really crave meat & dairy, nowadays there are plenty of healthy non animal alternatives - just look in the supermarket & health food shop. So I hope you will agree it's pretty pathetic to consider all the evidence & then say "well I know you're right about the environment & health & the animals - but I just love my meat" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: ARC is @nti-copyright throughout - Copy and distribute any part as you wish. Is this funny? America and Russia get in a war. They don't want to kill eachother so they decide to have a dog fight. They would have 2 years to train any dog to fight. 2 years later...... Russia and America meet for the dog fight. Russia shows up with the most vicious, mean, deadly pitbull in the world to fight. They have to keep it in a huge cage just to contain it. So they put in the ring. America releases their dog It was a long weinerdog. The pitbull started to charge at the weinerdog and the weiner dog opens its mouth hugely and eats the pit bull in one bite. the russians can't believe what they saw. They ask the Americans how they were able to pull that off. The americans say, "While you guys were training a huge pitbull for 2 years... we trained a crocodile to fit into a weinerdog costume" HAHHAHA funny joke huh?
Bush and Osama Dog Fight! Star if you like? Bush and Osama decided to settle the war once and for all. They sat down and decided to settle the whole dispute with one dog fight. They would have 5 years to breed the best fighting dog in the world and whichever side's dog won would be entitled to dominate the world. Osama found the biggest, meanest Doberman and Rottweiler female dogs in the world and bred them with the biggest, meanest Siberian wolves. They selected only the biggest and strongest puppy from each litter, removed his siblings, which gave him all the milk. Everyone felt sorry for Bush because they knew there was no way that this dog could possibly last 10 seconds with the Afghanistani dog. When the Russian dog leaned over to bite the Dachshund's neck, the Dachshund reached out and consumed the Russian dog in one bite. There was nothing left at all of the Russian dog. The Russians came up to the Americans, shaking their heads in disbelief. `We don't understand how this could have happened. We had our best people working for five years with the meanest Doberman and Rottweiler in the world and the biggest, meanest Siberian wolves." "That's nothing," an American replied. "We had our best plastic surgeons working for five years to make an alligator look like a Dachshund."
America V Russia....... who wins? The Americans and Russians, at the height of the arms race, realized that if they continued in the usual manner they were going to blow up the whole world. One day they sat down and decided to settle the whole dispute with one dog fight. They'd have five years to breed the best fighting dog in the world and whichever side's dog won would be entitled to dominate the world. The losing side would have to lay down its arms. The Russians found the biggest, meanest Doberman and Rottweiler ------- in the world and bred them with the biggest meanest Siberian wolves. They selected only the biggest and strongest puppy from each litter, killed his siblings, and gave him all the milk. They used steroids and trainers and after five years came up with the biggest meanest dog the world had ever seen. Its cage needed steel bars that were three inches thick and nobody could get near it. When the day came for the fight, the Americans showed up with a strange animal. American way? The Americans and Russians at the height of the arms race realized that if they continued in the usual manner they were going to blow up the whole world. One day they sat down and decided to settle the whole dispute with one dog fight. They would have five years to breed the best fighting dog in the world and which ever side's dog won would be entitled to dominate the world. The losing side would have to lay down its arms. The Russians found the biggest meanest Doberman and Rottweiler bitches in the world and bred them with the biggest meanest Siberian wolves. They selected only the biggest and strongest puppy from each litter, removed his siblings which gave him all the milk. They used steroids and trainers and after five years came up with the biggest meanest dog the world had ever seen. Its cage needed steel bars that were five inches thick and nobody could get near it. When the day came for the dog fight, the Americans showed up with a strange animal. It was a nine foot long Dachshund. Everyone felt sorry for the Americans because they knew there was no way that this dog could possibly last ten seconds with the Russian dog. When the cages were opened up, the Dachshund came out of it's cage and slowly waddled over towards the Russian dog. The Russian dog snarled and leaped out of it's cage and charged the American dachshund. But, when it got close enough to bite the Dachshund's neck, the Dachshund opened it's mouth and consumed the Russian dog in one bite. There was nothing left at all of the Russian dog. The Russians came up to the Americans shaking their heads in disbelief. "We don't understand how this could have happened. Who would you pick? If you took over the WWE and were going to combine the Raw and Smack Down rosters by using the talent that would fit in ECW to build it up into a real promotion, then, let's say at Wrestlemania 25 have a unification match for the World Title and WWE Titles, who would you have fight as World Champion and as WWE Champion? Personally I would have Jon Cena as WWE Champion and Batista as World Champion and have it as a huge feud culminating in an I quit Steel Cage match.
why does that matter? Climate change is real, and nobody has questioned that. The argument is whether it is attributable to human activity. In the last analysis, why does that matter? It is probably not solely attributable to what we are doing, but can anyone doubt that we are contributiong to the problem? Underlying the problem are the twin malignancies of pollution and overpopulation. The poor planet cannot deal with exploding billions -- billions -- of occupants with an insatiable thirst for raw materials, energy, water, and, of course and ultimately, economic advantage at any cost. And the politicos argue about such inanities/insanities as gay marriage, stem cell research and abortion rights. Gay marriage should be encouraged and rewarded, stem cell research hurts no one and benefits people with awful diseases, and the question as to abortion is not whether it should be permitted, but whether it should be required. There are already too many people; children are starving and being slaughtered and horribly treated around the world; senseless, destructive wars are being fought over control of precious resources; human rights are in the garbage can; religious nut cases are strapping explosives to themselves and killing anyone that doesn't agree with their version of divine intent; our own government is spying on us. It was long ago demonstrated that if you put a few rats in a cage, they get along fine. If you put a lot of rats in a cage, they begin to fight and bite. Yours truly, Just Another Rat
