Can I give my cockatiels raw corn cob? Should the nesting box be on the floor or top inside cage? Should I boild the corn cob before I serve it to my cockatiels or give it raw? Do I boil potato to soft to serve or must I mash it? My cage is +- 30"wide, 18"deep and 17"high. Now the nesting box is mounted inside in the top corner, but should it be on the floor of the cage? How about when the babies need to move around the cage and leave the box?
What's the highest velocity I can shoot a sizzling hot Wendy's baked potato up my butt? I'm going to the batting cages this weekend and I would like to know, this is something I've been contemplating for a long time which my inner voice is telling me I should do, so I am. All input is appreciated. Thank You
MY GUINEA PIG ATE A BUNCH OF POTATO PEELS, WHAT DO I DO?!!? We just bought 2 guinea pigs, and some stupid lady told us that they love vegetables, even potatos so we shouldn't throw them away, we should give them to our guinea pigs. So we did, cause we thought this lady could be trusted. After all, she did say she had fifty guinea pigs at one point in time. Well, I was just researching what else guinea pigs can eat online when I read that potatoes are poisonous!! Oh my GOD! Is my guinea pig going to die?!! I removed all potato peels from the cage, what else should I do? Prepare them for their burial?!
Is it wrong to feed a mouse a potato chip? ? Its really cute he walks around on top of his cage and i was eating sour cream and chives potato chips and thought id let him try a bit so broke a tiny bit off and he sniffed at it for a bit before taking it from my hand and standing up on two legs while using both hands to hold the chip while slowly crunching on it till it was gone. was really cute to watch lol but how safe is this?
What is the weirdest cravings you have had while pregnant? While i was pregnant with my 1st I craved wet cement, and Johnson baby powder, also sand (especially wet sand) and it killed me not to eat it. I had to get rid of my cockatoo, because of the sand in his cage. My 2nd child I had no cravings, (my only daughter) my 3rd was sand again. But my 4th was the mud on a potato. I had to get some proper will power to ignore my cravings. Also ice. My mouth used to water terribly each craving I had. What was your weirdest cravings, and did you over come them?
QUICK! What do I do about the hobo in my dogs cage!? So yesterday i was walking home from my job at McDonald's, and this hobo was like, "hey do you think you can get me some fries?" So I was like "nah man i only eat fries when i am at home" so the guy followed me home to my door and was like "now where are my fries!?" with the craziest face you could ever imagine, might I add...but anyway, I was like "wait right here" and I went inside, while reaching panic mode because there was a crazy ass hobo on my doorstep, and I mean I don't know what he's into! he could want those fries just to stick them up my bum or something! But I grabbed the Closest thing I saw: the potato masher sitting right there next to a big ol` pot of potatoes. so i went to the door and opened it but hid behind it, and said " okay come in, i hope you like mashed potatoes!" and right as i said mashed i jabbed him in the nose with the potato Masher. Now if you don't know what a potato masher looks like, it's a rod with a circle at the end with a bunch of square holes...actually just look it up on google images (My fave porn site btw) ...so on his face was a waffle looking mark. He passed out from the hit so I dragged him into my basement so my mom wouldn't see, because I was already in trouble for bringing a prostitute home...but I'm 31 so it shouldn't even matter!! But anyway, my question is, what should I do with him cuz he's locked in my golden retrievers cage and he's basically living off dog bowl water and food...Also, don't judge...I'm being completely serious and I'm sure you would do the same if faced with this situation. I just need a way to get rid of the thing, my dog keeps trying to hump the cage to get to him...I guess cuz he's gay for the hobo...which is bad for me since this turns me on....And i can't have my mom walking in on my dog humping me again for my pleasure...Thanks for the advice! Sincerely, Ben.
Does my guinea pig not like having a cage mate? I got my guinea pig, Potato, about a month ago for my birthday. She was shy at first, but then later became more friendly. She'd popcorn when I gave her hay and vegetables, let me pick her up without a fight, purr when I pet her, run around on my lap, and crawl on my blankets (she never made messes under there.) However, when talking to people on yahoo answers and reading guinea pig guides on the internet, I was told that I should have another guinea pig, and that keeping Potato by herself was cruel. So, I got another guinea pig, Pancake, about two weeks later. Ever since, I've noticed that Potato seems to have taken a step backwards in how comfortable she is around me. She no longer purrs when I pet her, she struggles and fidgets when I try and pick her up, she doesn't move much at all when I set her down on my lap other than to sniff things, she grinds her teeth (at least, I'm pretty sure that's what she's doing), and she popcorns when I take the other guinea pig out of the cage (Which is about the only time she ever popcorns now other than when I clean the cage.) They haven't been fighting or anything, and appeared to be getting along well. So, I'm sort of confused. Why is she acting differently?
Cockatiels and potato chips? I’ve had this bird since she was 6 weeks old (she's now five) and we’ve spoiled her, she gets the best exotic mixes of seed and fruit, a nice healthy diet, she likes millet sticks and will occasionally nibble on some fresh fruit, but my husband gave her a chip one day. I told him that I didn’t think it was good for her, but he tried anyway. She loved it, gobbled it up like it was the best thing she’s ever eaten. She had no problems so my husband gives them to her as treats about once a week, (one or two chips), but now every time she sees the yellow bag of Lays chips , she gets excited, squawking and whistling, climbing up and down her cage, begging for the chips. It’s kind of funny, but at the same time I still wonder if it’s alright or not. She still hasn’t shown any problems, no activity changes, just a love for the fried potato. Is this wrong?
How do I tell if my gerbil is pregnant? Hey I have my gerbil Starburst (girl) and she has been really fat suddenly she is pear shaped but the thing is that she is an only gerbil and she is just alone in her cage, a while back I had another gerbil with her and it was also a girl but starburst ate that gerbil and has just carried on since she has gotten suddenly fat but she is still very active and I tried holding her but all I feel is just a big plump I don't feel any potatoes or anything please I need help!

I used to see them only if I had a bad potato our or something, and in the summer. Now it is cooler , in the Great Lakes area where I live. But they are still around. We are trying to keep all the food in the refrigerator , and the pet cages clean. No open windows. So why are they here? How do I get rid of them. How can I get my rat to stop chewing on her cage? Also, she has dry skin..? Okay, so my rats won't stop chewing on their cage. I'm worried about their teeth, and I'm worried about the cage. The noise that they produce is ridiculously annoying as well. Is there a way to get them to stop chewing on it? Or some rat-safe chemical that deters the chewing? So here's what I've got- to answer questions before you answer my question. The rats are both female, about 7-8 months old. I bought one at petco, and one at a local, smaller petshop. The one from Petco is EXTREMELY intelligent and incredibly tame and cuddly, and the one from the petshop is a little bit of a 'fraidy rat, tolerates being held and seems just a little less inquisitive. They're in a big ferret cage, it's about 30 inches long, 17 inches wide and 17 inches tall. I use recycled paper bedding, and feed them rat food that has dried vegetables and grains and pellets. I sometimes give them healthier leftovers, like plain baked potatoes or fresh fruits/veggies if I have them. They have plenty of things to chew on, why would they use their cage? They have things to climb on-thick, natural grapevine perches, a hammock and a ledge, they've got things to hide under, like wooden houses, and like part of a natural log. They have wooden chew sticks, wooden bird toys, a coconut with holes in it with toys in it, and a rabbit toy made out of like woven vines with peanuts inside. They also have natural bones and rawhide. I rotate the toys, perches and shelters every few days, and turn their cage once a day to keep them busy, but nothing seems to work! Heck, my tamer rat comes with me to pick out her own toys because she's always disinterested in the ones I pick. How can I keep them busy with the toys they have?! Also, my very tame rat has very dry skin, and she itches constantly. They have a natural, rough rock in their cage to wear down their little toenails, but she still ends up drawing blood on herself. She has fallen into my bathtub before (don't judge me :D) but jumped right out and dried off. There wasn't any soap in the tub at the time. She had dry skin before that and it hasn't gotten worse or anything since then. Is there something I can do to relieve her itching? The only person that I know around here who knows something is the owner of the petshop, and he's recommended putting a mixture of pedialyte and water in their water bottle to help re-hydrate her. Would this work.. Gatorade is basically the same as pedialyte (A doctor told me that once.) so could I use that and what ratio of water to either pedialyte or gatorade would I use? Please let me know some answer so I can keep my rats healthier and happier! Sorry it's so long! I'm sorry, I forgot to add- I have a room in my apartment strictly for my animals. I take them out a couple hours a day and go online, while they romp around. It's nice because I don't have to keep as close of an eye on them as I do in other parts of the house. I thought it could be mites too, but then wouldn't my other rat have it too because they've been sharing the cage/toys/everything for a few months now?
how can i get my timneh parrot out of his cage? (+BQ)? My timneh african grey is really abnormal he is afraid of grown up men he is afraid of things he only eats apples, peanuts, beans, potatoes and pellet seeds he has been here for 6 years for 2 years he was afraid of everybody and used to shout a lot 1: How can i train him in order not to be afraid of anything? 2: How can i get him to eat fruitsand vegetables After 2 weeks form the day i bought him, my dad opened the cage and my parrot flew away From 3 months, he flew out of the cage (because once it fell down and broke) but both times i found him after months 3: How can i get him out of the cage? and make sure that he won't fly away 4: Everytime i leave him alone he shouts is there anyway to give him something to play with in order not to get bored?
Golden Cage or be free? I've just read the posts on contolling spouse. I've just realised that my hubby is actually controlling. I was naive back then n i took the controlling thing as his concern towards me. Now i can see y i've been having this numbness in my heart. I'm the type who thinks that any problem in a relationship can be solved. But what if we are totally different in values n priorities in life, and now dat i have found myself,i find that our directions in life are opposite... putting these into considerations,is it possible for my marriage to work with me feeling content and happy? My dilemma now is with all these differences and clashes, and the daily thoughts of wanted to break away fm his leash,i feel bad that i have to hurt him. He is a good person, a good provider,he takes care of me,he helps ard the house,he's not a couch potato (but he likes to stay home),he gives me a comfortable life. But he has a lot of conditions on the things that he provide. For example,he don't let me colour my hair,he pick the earrings and necklace for everyday use and the rest for occasions. N i MUST put on those for oaccasions. He don't let me watch the movies, even with friends. He will give thousands of excuses if i want to eat pizza or fast foods. Pizza is my fav tho. Not sure what his reasons are but I think he thinks pizza is too expensive and he don't like fast foods. He don't let me go travellling on my own. If he comes along, the destinations are the ones he decides, not what i/us want. I feel like i'm trapped but surrounded with things that make my life comfortable. I'm really confused to what i shld do. Sometimes i love him sometimes i don't. Sometimes i feel like i want to be with him n endure everything, but sometimes i just want to be ME. Pls give me ur opinions and advice on what i shld do. Thks! Ur answers will be greatly appreciated. :D Take care everyone... Matt, I'm not a hsewife. I'm working and have my own income. ------------- I have to add in that I can afford the things that i mentioned. It won't affect his finances at all. If i want to go out with frens,I make sure the house is clean n i prepare his meal before i go. Is it wrong and selfish of me to do things that make me release stress? I believe in balance in life. I grow up with fun parents. Who enjoys life but still are responsible. Is that wrong?
Why is there blood in my rabbies cage? My rabbit is young. About 3 years old or less. She had blood in her water bowl. It seemed like there was a string or poop in there that didnt look normal. Her behavior is fine. She only eats the lettuce, potato, bananna and apple we give her. She hasnt been eating her regular food lately too much. There is blood on her butt and there was blood in both waterbowls. What is this and how do i not take her to the vet? We dont want to take her to the vet unless its completely serious. We dont want anwsers like "take her to the vet now."
Do you clean guinea pigs Cages every 2 days or every day? Fanta is a 8 month old femal guinea pig. She eats Natrual sources like apples, sweet potato, carrots, cucumbers etc. she doesnt seem to be drinking lots though but she does drink.
Is it funny? It cracks me up? One day a blonde, brunette, and a red head are driving down the road trying to escape the cops. Alll of a sudden they stop the car. They jump out and run to the trunk. They grab out a cat cage, a dog cage, and a potato sack. The brunette is in the dog cage the red head is in the cat cage and the blonde is in the potato sack. Both the cages are covered though and of course you can't see through the potato sack. KK so then the police find the car and see the cages and potato sack laying next to the car. When they tap on the dog cage the brunette says" rufff, ruff" Then the police do not suspect a thing. Then the police move to the cat cage and tap on it. The red head goes "meow, meow" Again the police suspect nothing. Then they move to the potato sack and tap on it. Then the blonde replies " POTTTTTTAAAAATTTTTOOOOO!" of course the blonde is caught and arrested while the red head and brunette escape. P.S. I am blonde and this could be a joke for anyone not just blondes.

What time is it? Joke time!!! (1)? A brunette, a redhead, and a blonde robbed a bank and were hiding from the cops. They hide in an old empty warehouse. They looked all over the place for a place to hide. The brunette finds a dog cage, and she crawls in the dog cage. The redhead finds a cat cage, and she crawls in the cat cage. The blonde finds a potato sack, and hides in the potato sack. The cop comes in. He knocks on the dog cage and the brunette says "Bark! Bark!" and the cop leaves. The cop knocks on the cat cage and the redhead says "Meow! Meow!" and the cop leaves. The cop then knocks on the potato sack, and the blonde says "Potato! Potato!"
pet scorpion and cricket food help? Would it be okay if i put the crickets on the cage and put a piece of potato in the corner for them. because my scorpions only eaten like 1 or two and there staying in the cage and then dying
Problem with a two month old bearded dragon, issue with back legs....? On Monday, when I put crickets in his cage, he jumped off his branch and could not use one of his back legs. He was dragging it. When he went for a cricket he fell over and then gave up and went to his basking branch. I soaked him for an hour in warm water after that, and he did not pass a bowel movement. The next morning, however, when I looked in the cage there was indeed a fresh poo, so I assumed it was a mild case of impaction and that it passed. Well, he was still kind of wobbly after that, so I bought some sweet potato baby food and pedialyte, and fed him a mixture of the two with a dropper. He ate it fast, and then passed another kind of loose BM. I then tried with collard greens/crickets yesterday. He ate the greens voraciously, and then as soon as he ate two crickets, he couldn't walk well with his back legs and returned to his branch. I bought more baby food/pedialyte today, gave him gatorade to drink, but he still vibrates when I touch his tail/back legs, whats wrong? Crickets- 1/4", much smaller than distance between eyes Greens- Chopped to bite size pieces with no stem Substrate- Paper towels (cleaned daily) Basking temp- Hovers around 100F Ambient- About 80F Night- No lower than 70F Supplement with Rep-Cal calcium daily and multivitamin once every two weeks Every source I have reviewed says that supplementing with multivitamin too much can cause serious problems, such as Vitamin A toxicity. Recommended dosage for multivitamin is once every one to two weeks. Also, they all say once daily with calcium. Correct?

sack of potatoes? Is this blonde joke funny? A blonde, a red head and a brunette are running from the police. They reach a dead end and decided it would be there best interest to hide. The brunette hid in a dog cage, the red head in a cats litter box and the blonde in a sack of potatoes. When the police came by the brunette said woof woof to help her disguise, the police bought it. The red head meowed and again the police believed her. Then the blonde goes potato. potato. She gets taken away.
Help! Will my conure be okay? Help! I fed my Conure potato salad last night! It had onion and salt in it, will he be okay? I wasn't aware at the time he couldn't have those things. I gave him a small plate in his cage about slightly less than 1/4 cup, (with mostly chunky cooked potatos and eggs) and he ate about a 4th.
Beatdown Results!? Huge Main Event!? Garfield Rants!? What do you think? We begin the show with a bandaged Garfield in the ring. “How was your weekend everybody? Well, I don’t care, because mine sucked. First, I lost my Fantasy WWE Championship. Then I was given an Excalib-U from the top of a 20 foot cage. The only good part is that I still have my Beatdown Championship, but in a weekend of downs, that means nothing. But the worst part of it all was Toyn the Tiger. That b**** stole my title away from me. I should have won, but he cheated. The only reason he won was because I couldn’t prepare for him. In fact, why was he in there for the first place? King Cookie gets injured and The Mayor replaces him with his most hated superstar. How did that happen? I think there’s something going on there. And I’m going to find out.” He was about to leave when Daffy came out. “Gees, you are such a pompous a**. You have a title and all you can think of losing your other one. And then you challenge Tony the Tiger while there’s plenty of talent here. I should know, I used to be the GM. Why do you bother running a show when you spend more then half of the time challenging Fantasy WWE people? There should be change.” “You want change? I’l give you change. Tonight’s main event was going to be you vs. Hugo Chavez. Now, it’s you vs. Chavez in a Lumberjack Match, with all the lumberjacks hand picked by yours truly. Now then, how do you like that for change?” He left as Daffy stared angrily at him. We begin the night with one ½ of the Beatdown Tag Champs Winnie the Pooh facing Sylvester. It was a great match. Pooh was lining up for a suckle punch and tried to hit it, but Sylvester dodged it and drop kicked him. He went to the top rope and hit a Fur Ball for the win. Piglet came in, but tom came from the other side and hit a DDT on him. They left as both their opponents for No Chance lay in agony. The next match had Slimey & Kim Sul-song face Tarzan & Beatdown Cruiserweight Champ Jane. It was a great match as Tarzan redebuted on Beatdown. Slimey & Kim were dominating the whole match due to dirty tactics. Kim was just about to hit a Nuclear Powerbomb on Jane, but as Jane was going down, she got a tag to tarzan. Kim didn’t know it as she tried to pin Jane. Tarzan locked in the Tarzan Clutch (Camel Clutch) on her to make her tap to get the win. IN Champ Han Solo faced Casper in a non-title match. It was a very good match. Han had just hit an aerial Assault and was about to get the win when Queen Daphne came out to distract the ref. As this was happening, Oscar the Grouch came out and hit Han with the lid of a garbage can. Casper then hit a Flying Clotheline as the ref turned around for the win. It was the lumberjack match match after that. The lumberjacks were Jong, Garfield, Slimey, Casper, Oscar, Count, Marvin, Tyson, Drago, Satan (southpark), Eduardo, Kim Sul-song, Daphne, & Jak. It was a great match. Daffy tried very hard and was winning, but as he tried to bounce off the ropes, he was tripped by Marvin. He got distracted by this. Hugo Chavez saw the chance and rolled him up with a small package for the win. After the match, all the lumberjacks came in and beat on him. Jong & Garfield both hit their finishing moves on him. Then Calvin, Hobbes, Sylvester, Tom, Lancelot, Dr. Dre, Chewbacca, Tarzan, Jane, & Wicket W. Warrick came out. Jong & Garfield barely escaped as everyone else fought in the brutal brawl. As Jong & Garfield were backing up the ramp, they bumped into Tony, Clemens, & Bonds. They tried to fight them, but the number advantage got to them. Clemens & Bonds took them with them as the brawl was still going on. Backstage, Tony is using Garfield’s very own cheese grater on him & Jong. Then, he whips both of them with barbed wire. He uses that same wire to wrap them up. He takes out a bag of thumb tack and pours it in to 2 potato sacks He puts them in the sacks and put them in the trunk of their car. Before he shut it, he yelled, “Do you have a problem with my win at Fantasy Summerslam? Well then, we’ll see if you feel the same way. On Fantasy Raw!” They leave as the brawl is going on still in the ring at the end of the show. Hope you enjoyed. This is just for fun. If you don't like it don't answer it. PS. Sorry about it being so late. I might do adrenaline, but don't be surprised if I don't.
Survey---Did you ever have a bunny for a pet? I did. A little black Netherland dwarf named Bob. Bob would jump out of his cage and make you give him doritos or potato chips or whatever you were eating from a bag. His favorite thing seemed to be cooked spaghetti noodles. You wouldn't believe it, but Bob lived 10 years. So did you by chance have a bunny? If so, raise your hand and tell me a story about a current or past bunny. I'll go first again. *raises hand* I had a bunny named Bob who would reach up on the sofa and nip at my dog's tail to get him to chase Bob around a little. I had Bob first, and I told the dog if he ever hurt Bob he would have to go. It was like he understood, because they had a great time together. I miss Bob.
do they still sell these things?water balloon thingy? its a plastic ball/cage looking thing with a timer..you would place a water balloon inside the ball and set the timer..then play hot potato with it passing it along until timer went off..when timer went off small needle would pierce balloon exploding on whomever had it...can i still get one of these?? its prolly been a good 10 yrs ago..anyone know what they were called??
Can you over feed crickets? I gave one cup of dog food as their food and about 5 baby potatoes cut in half for their water. There are about 200 crickets in the cage. I noticed that aa few (like 5) crickets are dead around the food. Did I over feed them? Also, is potatoes ok as their only source of food? oops. I meant as their only source of water. I know potatoes are not a good food for them.
A question about spiritual warfare? THE ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMP Who would you like to see in a cage match? 1) Richard Dawkins vs Ted Haggard 2) Me vs cafeteria bag of potato chips 3) you choose ....
Guinea Pigs - how do you care for them? Hi. I'm interested in getting 2 guinea pigs - I've read that a mother and daughter or two females of the same litter are the best combos. My sister had a guinea pig which recently died and we have no idea why! We think he may have got too cold?!?! I want to get her another one but want to know how to care for one properly first so I Can help her. Do guinea pigs need to be kept inside or outside? We kept the old guinea pig in hutch (of sorts) that was up off the ground and had a wooden floor and a separate compartment that was made of wood he could hide in. Is that ok? What should you feed them and what can't you feed them (i know potato is bad!). What needs to be in their cage? Should you feed them pellets or can you make a vegetable diet alone work? Thanks!
PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!!! QUADRATIC EQUATIONS!? Please help me. If you can answer all if not, please answer what you can!! thank you SOOOOOO much! A college algebra instructor jumps from the top of 100 ft building into a shallow pool of water. How long wil it take for the instructor to hit the water? A student shoots a potato gun straight into the air with a velocity of 200 feet per second. If the potato was launched from 5 feet above the ground, when will the potato hit the ground? A college cafeteria worker shoots a potato gun straight into the air and the potato hits the ground 4 seconds later. If the potato was launched from five feet above the ground, what was the muzzle velocity of the potato gun? A Farmer builds a rectangular pen next to a river to cage his ostriches. There must be fence on 3 sides of the rectangle but the river encloses the last side. If the pen is twice as long as it is wide, (it runs along the river) and is 3200 square feet, what are the dimensions of the pen?

And please - any other advise and things to keep him occupied. Thanks!!
Does this sound like a good setup for a pair of rats? So I'm getting 2 rats again soon, and I've had them in the past, but this time I want to provide the best care I can for them. For housing, I want to convert a large bird cage, (take out wire bottom, and ideas for adding levels?) or make a bookshelf into a cage, by adding a door, putting vinyl tile and fleece on the shelves, and cutting a hole in each shelf. Do these sound like good housing options, if not what do you suggest? For their main diet, I will feed Harlan Teklad blocks, until they are 4 months, and then gradually switch them over to Oxbow (that's the best brand my pet store has). Of course I will also feed them fruits and veggies, probably about 3-4 tablespoons each, and healthy table scraps/treats like potato, whole wheat noodles, eggs, yogurt, nuts, cereal, etc. If I get a bird cage, I will use either aspen shavings, Healthy pet cat litter, or pets preference bedding. If you have opinions of which one is best, please share them. I will clean their cage once a week, and for the bird cage, I would wash it in the tub, and disinfect with a bleach or vinegar solution, but I'm not sure how I would thoroughly clean the shelf cage, I guess by washing the fleece, and wiping down the vinyl tiles/ inside of shelves with warm, soapy water, and then wipe with damp cloth, and dry. I will also wash cloth toys and hammocks weekly, and bowls/ bottles, or plastic toys will get cleaned the same way as the cage. I will "rat proof" my room and let them run around while I do my homework (which is a pretty long time!) For toys, so far I have cardboard boxes, toilet paper tubes, plastic tunnel, wooden nestbox, climbing rope, many hammocks, some sock tunnels, a wooden chew toy with a nut inside, I also plan to make toys out of cardboard boxes/toilet paper tubes/paper, with treats inside so they have to chew to get the treats. So, if you have any input, or advice for anything I'm missing or should do different, let me know. I just want my rats to live a long happy life!
What is wrong with my dog? Last night, I was sitting outside with Lady, my Jack Russel/Rat Terrier mix and Toby, my purebred Beagle. The two have never fought before other than what I call "playful" fights, were they jump on each other growling but their tails are wagging and they normally play tug-of-war afterward. Last night, I was eating and decided that they both deserved a treat because they were being so well behaved. (They hadn't messed in the house for two weeks and nothing had been chew up, etc.) Anyway, I gave them each half of a baked potato. Instantly, Lady ran over and took Toby's, who didn't seem to care. I picked up Lady's half and threw it to Toby, and Lady being Lady, ran over letting out what I call the "scream of death," which is a bark that she lets out saying, "I want that!" Normally, Toby will wag his tail and tackle her, but last night, he growled and than jumped on her. Then all hell broke loose. Toby and Lady started fighting, Lady having the upper hand for about twenty seconds. I knew instantly that something was wrong and ran over to attempt to break up the fight. Suddenly, Toby pinned Lady to the ground by her throat and Lady let out this yelp of, "OW! Ow! Ow! Ow!" Then, I grabbed Toby by the collar and threw him off of her, checking her throat for blood or anything like that. There wasn't none, but she did have a limp this morning on her front right foot. I checked her and nothing seems to be broken, just stoved. Meanwhile, Toby knew that he did something wrong. He instantly ran over, grabbed the potato and gave it to Lady before running inside to his cage. (I thought this was adorable.) Anyway, it's now today, and Lady is not the same. She's very timid. She won't jump up on the couch and lay with me, but instead decides to lay on the floor at the front of it. I'll pick her up and bring her up with me, but she'll lay there for about five minutes before laying on the floor again. I don't know if she's eating or not. Toby keeps attempting to "apologize" by giving her toys and trying to play with her, but she wants nothing to do with him. She hasn't barked or growled since it happened. So I'm wondering: what's wrong? Is her pride hurt? Is she scared? What's up?

What would you grade this Cricket Care Report? I would like a percentage and a truth full answer.? of living animals: START__6_____ END___0_____ (5pts) Animal: Cricket (1pt) (Common name- be specific) 1.Give the complete taxonomical classification of you animal:(7pts) Kingdom Animalia Phylum Arthropoda Class Insecta Order Orthoptera Suborder Ensifera Family Gryllidae Subfamily Gryllinae Genus Acheta Speciesdomesticus 2.Describe in detail, the cage you used for you animal. Be sure to include environmental condition of soil type, temperature, humidity, water, space, and cover. How did you maintain a healthy environment for your animals? Include a photograph or drawing of your cage. (5pts) I had a cage that contained a plastic floor and "ceiling", and the wall of the cage was a fence that rapped all the way around. The fence helped the crickets to have the ability to climb around and also gave them air to breath. The floor was flat and covering the floor was a potato, which was replaced with everyday, a warm wet paper towel that was folded, and a small index card that was folded in various ways to make a food bucket. At the top was a paper towel that was usually rapped around the ceiling with a rubber band so the crickets could not get out. The humidity was usually low, or about the same as it is in an average house. The temperature was usually around the high seventies. I kept the crickets on my closet shelf because I usually keep the fan on in my room. 3.Describe the natural habitat of you animal. Be thorough. (5pts) The natural habitat of a house cricket is an region where there is warm air and food. Crickets have been found in woodlands, suburb, urban areas, restaurants, in siding of homes and many more places. Crickets are usually attracted to heat. That is why they are usually found by heaters, fireplaces, and stoves. When outside of the home, crickets are found in tall grass, mulch, logs, rocks, and almost under anything else. 4.What aspects of your animal's natural habitat did you have the hardest time stimulating.? (5pts) The arduous aspect would have been the temperature and the warm humidity. My house is normally cold so I placed the crickets at the top shelf of my closet. I picked my closet because it was the warmest place in the house, and I picked the top shelf because heat rises. I also kept them in my closet because there was not as much of a draft as there was in my room. 5.Every attempt at Animal Husbandry is a learning process. A.Did any of your animals die or show signs of illness/ starvation? Why or why not? (4pts) Yes, in the beginning, about a day after receiving my crickets, there were two crickets the would stay on the floor of the cage as if to rest from being tired. I noticed they were usually on the floor every time I checked on them but were moving. Sadly, in less than two days after receiving my crickets, both had died. A few days later another pair of crickets died. One of them had seemed fine, but when I went back to recheck on them a minute later one had died. The last two died when I was away, but I had given them extra amounts of food and water to last the weekend, but they were on their backs when I returned. B.What were the hardest obstacles to overcome in caring for you animals? Explain. (4pts) My hardest obstacle was to keep the area warm and to have no draft come around. Eventually, I had turned of my fan when I had the last two left. They had survived longer than the others after that because of no draft. C.Explain what you could differently in the future to better raise this same animal. Be specific. (4pts) I could probably start off raising them with no draft, or fan, in the area they live in. I think that was my main problem, for they kept dying until I turned my fan off. Answer the following questions about your animal. You may have to use the grasshopper dissecting guide in class, the crickets handout from Animals in the Classroom, or another source you find on ou own to answer some of these questions. 6.Although crickets need a dry moist environment to thrive, they also require some moist soil. For what do they need moist soil? (1pt) They need moist soil because this is where they lay their eggs. 7.How many legs does a cricket have? (1pt)six legs 8.How many pairs of legs does a cricket have? (1pt)Three 9.Do crickets have jointed legs? (1pt)Yes 10.Are crickets legs attached to its abdomen? (1pt) No 11.What is the name of the tubules that crickets excrete waist through? (1pt)Malpighian 12.How many antennae does a cricket have? (1pt)Two 13.Through what organ do crickets breath? (1pt)Trachea 14.Where are the breathing openings located? (1pt)Under the abdomen 15.How many pairs of wings do crickets have? Two pairs 16.Are crickets diurnal or nocturnal? (1pt)Nocturnal 17.What are the two main purposes of a crickets chirp?

Need help with shy hamster!? I got my hamster, Fudge, a couple of days ago. he is very shy and I have started taming him. but I have a little problem. he won't take food out of my hands. i have tried yoghurt drops for hamsters and mashed potato and he will eat it if i leave it in his cage but if i try to give it to him, he won't take it. any suggestions on how to get him to take the food? Erika: You aren't supposed to shuv food into ur poor animals mouth. If your hamster is having problems eating then you feed him and make him eat it. If he doesn't eat anything take him to the vet =]] Response: I am not shoving food into his mouth, and he eats fine. he just won't take food from my hands because he isn't completely tamed yet.

Cockatiel laying eggs? Hi, my female has mated several times with my male cockatiel. She has just laid her second egg in the nestbox, 48 hrs, after her first as litature dictates. My question is, is it normal that there are periods of time that she does not sit on the eggs? At night when I cover the cage both her and the male come out show wings and I am not 100% that she goes back in soon after I cover their cage. Also is ok that I cover the cage now that they are nesting, and is there a time frame where its not necessary for her to be on the eggs? I have noticed since the second egg has been laid they spend alot more time in the box now. And one last thing, they love potato chips, is one here and there bad?
What's the fastest way to GAIN weight? I'm 16 years old, not that active but not a couch potato either but I need to know the fastest way to GAIN weight in a SAFE way... My arms and legs are well toned because I work on them usually when I do strenuous exercise, especially my legs because I cycle a lot. But... my chest area, my pecs and rib cage are very.. well un-toned. My chest area isnt even "normal", it's real skinny. At times before I eat I can breathe in enough just to see one of my rib cage bones :/ I've tried working on my pecs but it didnt help around the rib cage area so how do i try puff it out a bit?
I have questions about my baby bunny !? I got my bunny when he was five weeks old , & now he is six weeks . We have had him for one week . His name is Little Louie , & we already have a great connection . We always cuddle , & he loves when I pet him , & he always give me kisses . 1 . Why doesn't he use his litter box when he is in the living room ? He is litter trained , and he knows where to go when he is in his bedroom ( a room without any wires , & space for my bunny to run ) ? Should I put a second litter box in the living room ? He can only get into our living room , kitchen , and his bedroom . 2. When can I clip my bunnies nails ? I know not to clip past the "quick" , I tried filing them but that only made them sharper . & I want him to get use to me cutting them , so when he is older ' he doesn't have a problem with it . 3. When can I slowly introduce parsley , and other greens ? & yes I know not to give him lettuce , or potato . I gave him a tiny leaf of parsley , and he got a bit of dirrahea , but it wasn't anything to serious ' & it only happened once . Should I wait until 8 weeks ? 4. When & it is actually neccessary to get my bunny neutered ? Is it possible I won't notice a change in my bunny , therefor he won't have to be neutered ? 5. How much did it cost you to get your bunny neutered ? I live in Alberta , Canada . Just wondering how much it costed everyone . 6. Will my bunny ever bite me ? To be honest , I think I got him at such a young age that we will have a great connection . I allow him out of his cage for 24 hours a day , usually as I am not working now . He can go in his cage as he chooses . But I always cuddle with him , & kiss him , and play with him ? I wonder if he will ever bite me , and will it hurt ? 7. I hear that people train there bunnies like cats . & that is what I am trying to do . He already uses his litter box , and he has plenty of toys so he stays away from my cords and wood . But will there ever be a point in time , I can allow him out of his cage all night ? And trust him not to do anything , and to use his litter box ? I am not talking about any time soon , but in a few years ? 8 . In a few years , will I be able to take my bunny out to a field , & let him run around and eat grass , and expect him to stay close , or come back when called ? I allow a bit of time outside daily for my bunny , but he is always in a fence , he is to little to roam free .
How can I give my hen a new lease of life? We have a 7 year old hen, she's quite small and very pretty brown. She's the only one we have now though. We used to have two others, a cockerel and another hen. The other hen was bullied by the other two and beaten nearly to death, we nursed her back to health and then persuaded a nearby farm to take her. The two left lived happily for another few years, until last year the cockerel caught red mite and had to be put down. We cleaned out the cage thoroughly and blow torched it to kill the mites and covered the remaining hen in special powder which we do regularly. And now we have a sad lonely chicken in an aviary. She won't let us go in with her, and would attack another hen if we got one. She seems healthy though and is nice and plump with shiny feathers. No farms will take her and I feel so bad every time I go out and see her. She has a little night house and we feed her twice a day special chicken pellets, water, grit and sometimes corn. We also give her things like mashed potato and grapes and cheese as treats. How can we make her happier? I sometimes go and sit by the cage and just talk quietly to her, she makes little peeping noises back at me. We put a big flowerpot in her nighthouse filled with straw which she loves and sleeps in, and when we clean out the cage and put new wood chips in, she rolls around clucking happily. How can I make her happy like this more often? I wish we could let her around the garden, but we don't know how we could clip her wings, also we have a cat next door. Our 3 rabbits are free to run about the garden and have made friends with the cat, but will the chicken get on with the rabbits and cat? How would she respond to being able to run about?
Im sorry if you get more mad but I need help.? I have had this amazon bird 6hours and it keeps screaming, you people came down on me so hard I have not moved from it I tried to find toys they only have cat and dog toys, I don't know if it can have that so I did not buy it,there is nothing in the cage but food and water and I found something called calcium,In 6hrs I thought it to say hello, how do I give it a shower if you people say don't grab it,what is it going to sleep on I was going to but a cat bed at walmart but my nephew said it was not a good idea, how is it going to sleep on this medal cage should I put a sheet in there.don't down me just help me please.I tried to give it a raw potato it won't take it,can it have a green banana, and should I put a blanket over the cage so it can know it's bed time.Im sleepy and all I keep saying to it is hello.im tired of saying hello after it says hello a few times it goes back to that screaming noise which seems to be getting louder.what does it mean when it screams like that. My guinea pig is FAT and won't lose weight.? I have two male guinea pigs (brothers). One is considerably larger then the other, and has a hangy chin because he is so fat. They have a constant access to hay/ water because both are a mandatory part of digestion, and guinea pigs must have access to both 24/7. They also get a daily serving of baby carrots to make sure they get their vitamin c, which I give to them every morning when I wake up. Then, at around 6-7 o clock they get their pellets which is another mandatory part of their diet to get the remaining nutrients they need. I take my piggies out all of the time, the slender one (Timmy) is always eager to run around and will immediately start pop-corning when he's out of the cage. The fat guinea pig (Benji) will just sit there, hardly even moving like he's scared or something. I've tried everything, putting him alone in the bathroom, putting him outside (closely supervised) he just sits their. And when he is in his cage, which is a large two story cage, he just sits there and eats, then poops, then eats, then poops. How do I make my lazy guinea get up off his a** before he becomes ill because of his weight? I love my guineas very much, but changing their diet doesn't seem to be much of an option. Do I just have a couch potato guinea pig on my hand? Is there anything I can do about this?
My pet rat feels kinda sick I'm not sure why..? Hello. First off, I live in Australia. So it's Spring, (Just getting out of cold/wet weather season.) I have two rats. Lingwo is the eldest one. He is quite "big" but not morbid. He acts quite healthy, and doesn't appear to have anything wrong with him. We let both of them out on the couch every night to run around (provided the lounge is covered by some form of blanket.) The youngest one is the one I am worried aboout. Jye is only about 6-9 months old. I integrated him in with Lingwo pretty early. They seemed to hit off great, and had no problems. I don't think Lingwo hurts the younger one in any way. They eat anything we eat really. Excelt dairy products. On RARE occasions they may get the tiniest bit of chocolate, but that's it. And no asparagus. I never give them asparagus. Usually it's corn, boiled potato, carrot, lettuce, dry biscuits, weetbix, things like that. Anyway, only within the passed few weeks have we noticed a change in Jye. His breathing, as dad described it, seems "Rattley", or it sounds like he has troule breathing. Tonight he feels kind of cold. Because they both usually feel warm, skittish. Jye is being quite lethargic, his body heat is low, and his breathing has altered. He seems less keen to excape the cage. Mydad and I are both very worried because we love the rats. I clean their cage every 2-3 weeks. Sawdust, all the time. I use different types. And the shavings are usually a light browney colour. It isn't dusty, either. They drink fresh water. And they love their big plastic box house. I had a rat with the same symptoms as Jye about a year ago. He died. I don't want it to happen to happen again. Please help. If you require any more information, just ask. :/

I thought every other day but am I right? 9.How often do you have to clean her cage? 10.How ofter do yu have to take her to the vet? Im sorry so many questions. BTW my bunny is about 3 months old.Fluffy is a she.She loves to play around she hates to be in her cage but I don't know anywhere Else to leave without her chewing on cords! Thanks for all your help! also, I notice that she is now bitting on clothes and her balnket what should I do I play with her all the time why does she do it. I also wanted to know if she can sleep with me when hopefully she stops chewing on clothes.
My guinea pigs hates me? I've had my guinea pigs since July 2009 and I'm really starting to regret getting them. :/ I do everything I'm supposed to do. I give them hay every day, and I make them a salad out of carrots, cucumbers, and Romaine lettuce. At first, I only had one (Potato.) She was shy at first but then she started to warm up to me. Everyone was telling me I was being "cruel", though, by not having two guinea pigs. So, I went and bought another one (Pancake.) I'm pretty sure that was a horrible mistake. Not only does Pancake STILL hate me, but it's like being around her has made Potato hate me too. Whenever I try to pet Pancake she screams and trys to run back into the house. Whenever I take either of them out to pet, the other one loses her shit, which in turn causes the other one to lose their shit (almost always literally.) I mean, they're high maintenance pets. Not only that, but Pancake has an extremely annoying habit of biting the bars of the cage for attention (I've gotten her chew sticks.) Also, they poo everywhere. I have to get a towel for them to sit on when I attempt to hold them. They're also really expensive and I'm having to spend all of my allowance on their bedding and food. I wouldn't mind any of this if I thought they actually liked me. ._. I've tried everything I can think of (including that towel trick that someone keeps posting as the go to solution.) I'm not making any progress with them, and it's extremely disheartening. Does anyone have any other solutions? Lolwhut? xD Actually, my cat does get along with the guinea pigs. Also, title fail. That should say "My Guinea Pigs Hate Me".
PLEASE HELP! One of my bunnies is weeing white? I'm so scared I only got them 4days ago, one from a breeder one from a pet shop. They aren't de-hydrated or going hungry. I feed them carrot, apple, cucumber, sweet potato(they didn't eat that) hay and dry pellets.None of them have gone off their food. I recently cleaned their cage with PINE'O'CLEAN disinfectant because they wee'd all over it, and they chew the wood on their cage, if this is why one of them are getting sick how can i make them better? I dont know what to do, and I can't make an appoinment with my vet until tommorrow after school, what if its too late?! PLEASE HELP!
Why do people get overly offensive about animals? I love animals just as much as the person next to me, if not more. I am a PETA member and donate monthly to various animal causes and I take animal's well-being very seriously. But have you ever noticed that theres people out there that just have a problem with anything that someone does to animals? A few examples. Aubrey O'Day has been ridiculed because she died her dog's fur pink and purple. I don't get it. The dye was not harmful, they weren't uncomfortable during the process, and she said that her dogs even liked having baths! She's a great pet owner, its obvious she loves her dogs as her own children, and people act like shes horrible for doing that. Go onto youtube and there is ALWAYS a comment about any video with animals that the person is being cruel. Someone had their bunny on a leash so they could take him outside, and people were ranting about how cruel it was. I personally think it's better than having the bunny sit in a cage all day, the leash allowed the bunny to play in his natural environment, get some fresh air, exercise, and nibble on grass. But I guess the leash "causes the bunny stress and yada yada." Someone on Yahoo Answers asked if she could feed her dog a potato chip and people were lashing out irrationally. Is it just me or do people just get way too worked up about animals over little things? The fact of the matter is, animals can live horrible lives from being in labs, getting killed for their meat, getting killed for their fur, being in abusive homes etc. Why is it that people need to attack loving pet owner's for stupid stuff such as putting clothes on their dogs, feeding them a single potato chip, etc. even though they would never do something intentional to hurt their beloved pet? Am I the only one that thinks people need to bring it down a notch on issues like this? I meant to write "overly offended" but hey its a Monday, cut me some slack lol. And yes I am a PETA member and I am asking this because I'm not one of those annoying animal lovers who think anything we do to an animal is cruelty. I'm just saying people who are loving pet owner's would never so anything to hurt their animals, and if they could tell their pet was uncomfortable they would stop.
creepy haunted maze ideas for Halloween? me and a bunch of friends have acess o a tree maze for halloween this year and we want to make it into a very scary haunted maze... but also be able to tone it down for the little kids that may come... but mostly are focusing on the scary factor. we have several good ideas so far but need more because the maze is really big... here is what we have so far it's going to start with our tour guide (who is dressed in goofy halloween atire as to make it look goofy and not scary.. like them ghost or pumpkin anlter headbands and such) start taking the group through the tour... however we will have a monster pull her into the bushes as she walks by leaving them to fens for themselves for the rest of it. we will have them walk past a skeliton thing that's holding a lantern that's motion sensored and will tell them to run back while they still can and sayings like that... then they will walk by a graveyard scene that will have hands sticking up from the ground and a monster of some sort slowly walking through the graveyard... and there will be a devil at the back of the graveyard (either in cstume or it will be a devil on a stake) then there will be a monster in an electric chair that is powered by an air compressor that shakes like it's being electricuted with a stobe light under it... then they will pass through potato sacks that are all red and "bloody" at the bottom with hands and feet hanging out... these are hanging from the trees... there will be a bag or 2 with an actual person moving in it to seem as though it isnt dead yet... and we will have a butcher either follow them through or they will meet it at the end... again havent decided on that yet... then they will walk past frenkensteins lab with the mad scientist frankie and on the oppisite side will be a caged monster then they will pass dracula's den... with a coffin where a dracula skeliton will pop out of the coffin when they walk by... there is a bunch of creepy bats and a guy in a dracula costume... (the poping guy is air compressor run and motion sensored) after that they will pass the witched we have 2 witched one will be stirring a cauldrin with the dry ice.. the other we are not sure about yet (any ideas for this?) and we have a skeliton in a cage we are going to hang with them and possibly a fog michene nearby also sometime throughout this a creepy guy in a costume (possibly the really really really creepy half dead clown guy) will start following the group at a distance and near the end of the maze it will "chase them out" but of course never leave the maze so others just entering wont see it... we have 2 fog michenes and are not sure where to put them we are thinking the witches and the cemetery... however sometime between the butcher and the start we have an air horn that is motion sensored but need to add it in somewhere (must be there cuz it's as long as the corsd can reach) adn oncce we get to the witches we still have like 1/4 the of the maze left to do SOMETHING but dont know what else there is... ghosts or spiders or something else that is really creepy... we have like 40 masks and there is a total of 16-17 people to help run this... any ideas for the last 1/4 of the maze? or anything to improve our other ideas?
Does anyone else think that all shelters should start doing this? The shelter I work at has just started doing the Meet-Your-Match program the ASPCA started. For those of you that don't know what this is a person trained in dog and cat evaluation will come in and give a number of temperament tests to a new animal. Then the animal is given a certain color based on their test results and within that color they get assigned one out of 3 types of personality . A purple animal is a laid back couch potato, an orange animal has a personality in the middle, and a green animal is a hyper happy go lucky dog that loves to play. A colored card corresponding to the personality of the animal is attached to the outside of the cage. When a potential adopter comes in we ask them would they like us to try to match them a dog. If they say yes we give them a personality test and assign a color to them. We give them a purple, orange, or green pass with one of 3 personalities on it. The adopter then walks around and matches the card to the cages with the same cards on it. If you fall in love with an animal with a different colored card then we will let them adopt it. The cards don't mean you can only have an animal of that color we are just trying to guide people to the right animal. Since we started this our adoption rates have gone up and we are not getting as many animals back from people who adopted them. We have also had a few people call us and thank us for picking them the perfect pet. What is your opinion of this program? Do you like it? Should all shelters adopt this program? Let me know what you think. It has really helped our adult dog and cat adoption rates. We also have a version for puppies and kittens but that is less accurate I think because their personality will change as they grow. I mean people could lie on the personality test be it is completely optional. For those of you who would like to know what the personalities are that we can rate dogs are here is a link to meet-your-match on the ASPCA website http://www.aspca.org/adoption/meet-your-match/meet-the-canine-alities.html
What Dog Breed is For Me? I have to go to school for at least 7 hours and on Minimun Days 4 1/2 hours, and my parents have work. What's a dog that can stay in a Cage for that period of time? I want a dog that isn't a couch potato, but doesn't bark and bite. Preferably a medium size or small. And I adore all dogs, but am a sucker for cute ones. Please don't say Maltese, i know a lot of people who have those, and I want to look at something that doesn't look too similiar to it. xD how bout a pen in the backyard? And is bad or better to just leave them outside? And no offence, but I don't like lazy animals like cats. because when i get back from school, i got plenty of time to play with a dog or anything. and i always wanted one :[ so right now, im open to all dogs available and what if its potty trained, and i let it roam around the house and leave food? any better?
good pet for a lazy 13 year old? my nephew is 13 years old and loves pets he is very lazy though and his old dog died a few months ago he wants a cat or a dog he is willing to do some training and a little exercise with the dog they have a large open yard in a rural area so an energetic dog would be ok but he really just wants another couch potato to hang around with and he does not want a animal that is in a cage or bowl such as fish or amphibian like animal we are trying to teach him responsibilty but if he stops taking care of it either my sister or I will intervene he loves animals but on top of him being lazy he has been diagnosed with several health conditions and is vey fragile
dreams?? dreams?? dreams?? same type of dreams? like every week 4-5 nights a week i dream about one of my teachers.. even tho she is my favourite teacher.. do u think its a little weird i keep having dreams about her...? its not like anything out of the ordinary its just basic teacher stuff except one night she was really angry at me for no reason which was kinda weird cause she is never really really angry towards anyone she is just nice and kind....... also i do think about her and her class a fair bit... anyhow... do you think these dreams mean anything?? like last night the dream i had about her was that i had made a clay hand in art class (which she is my art teacher) and i got the hand stuck in a cage thing and she was trying to get it down for me then after that me and my friend and her were talking and joking around and she said something weird like people used to video her doing work and stuff and then i put my friend in a big potato bag and started running up and down the corridor and my teacher was laughing her head off at it.. it was really strange what does this mean?
Why do most people thing if you own a Jack russell Terrier or a mix of one the dog is automatically neurotic..? Why do most people thing if you own a Jack russell Terrier or a mix of one the dog is automatically neurotic, hyper, crazy? I have a JRT mix and when I say that people are like "oh you must have your hands full" Or "Those are some crazy dogs" or "Wow you have such a hyper dog, I'm sorry" or "Wow aren't those agressive dogs, why do you have one with a baby on the way" or "my neighbor has a JRT and it barks all the time" My JRT mix isn't hyper. Never has been. She is a total couch potato. She never barks. She doesn't jump around or run around like crazy. She isn't in the least bit aggressive. She graduated top of her obedience class, has a decent recall. Knows and obeys her commands. She is a real cuddle bug, and a true lap dog. (all 21lbs of her) She loves kids. Why the assumptions that we have a terrible dog. She can be sitting at my feet on a bench at the park and people ask what she is and I tell them "Jack Russell Terrier mix" and they are like "You got a hyper one then" and my dog is either just sitting there or at my feet laying down. I don't get the logic. I've known about 4 JRTS (Purebred) 3 were great. 1 of the 3 was hyper but still a really good dog. And the 4th one well he was neurotic and hyper and a bit of a terror. Not his fault though he was locked in a cage 10 hours a day and his owner never took him for walks. (They eventually gave him up) So whats with the assumption about JRTS and JRT mixes ADD: Up until recently she was getting three 45 minute to 1 hour walks a day but recently she had to be cut back to 2 (because I'm on bedrest and hubby works, though he comes home in the afternoon to let her out)
Pinched nerve, pregnant..or something really wrong? So ok here's whats going on..... Well I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled because they are rotting and one caused me severe pain and an abscess. Dentist gave me an antibiotic and scheduled surgery. Well after taking the antibiotic for 2 days I was sick very sick with diarrhea, (clindamycin) I called the dentist and she said to stop taking it and never prescribed me anything new. The abscess went away and then I got a sinus infection. That then cleared up and then the other night I was having diarrhea again and severe pain in my neck, shoulders, middle back bottom of my rib cage in front and tightness in my stomach. I went to the ER because I was afraid. Dr. said I have a pinched nerve in my neck.....Pinched nerves cause all those symptoms???? Now this morning I woke up was dizzy and threw up bile, ate a bowl of rice chex and felt a little better. Then after dinner (cesear salad w/chicken and a baked potato and yogurt for dessert) I feel just as awful again....I thought yogurt is suppose to help diarrhea...it seems to be making it worst!!! I also considered pregnancy because of headaches crazy dreams and sore breasts, but results were negative. Is there something really serious going on??? I have a Doctor appointment tomorrow but I can't sleep because I'm worried it could be like celic disease from the antibiotic or gallbladder or liver disease...thats how scared I am I'm thinking the worst! I kinda hope its just a stomach bug thats lasting like 2 weeks or pregnancy!!!!
new mice lots of questions please help? Hi i'm sorry i'm bombarding the site with questions but i'm a little confused right now about my new mice well i just got them about two days ago and second day i lost my poor little mouse in my room spent 8 hours looking for her a kind screamed alot and cried (i get very attached to pets) and poor mouse was retrieved at 12:00 at night so she is still stressed and from my previous questions hasn't really been eating or drinking i gave her a potato chip to coax her out of her hiding spot and it's all she's eaten for the day so i don't know what to do that and she is always hiding and never comes out of her corner unless i pick her up but i've only had them 3 days not even that so i don't know both are weanlings she looks too young she's so small not like a normal pet shop mouse maybe she could be a late developer and still need her mother's milk? if so what milk do i give her and how. also i hate pet shops second time i've been like this different pet shop same scenario they kept a girl in a boys cage and mis-sexed the mice it really gets to me i hate having to seperate them so i have a male and female very good friends (here we go again) so i heard they stop reproducing at a certain age and can be together but for now she's not getting harrased to mate with him they are just cuddling a lot it's cute but i don't think it's anything so what should i do? i mean do i seperate them or do i just leave them for now also i was thinking if she just had like one litter every somthing months and i could just give the babies to good homes i was planning on keeping mum with the girls and dad with the boys don't worry i'm not irrisponsible with breeding i would rather not breed =( but i can't separate them yet i don't even think the female has reached maturity yet you know when she can have babies. well that was a lot i'm sorry i'm just really scared and confused please help =)
Would you date a guy who's? 5'2, 103 pounds, red hair, green eyes, can't grow facial hair, and is 18. Never gets noticeably angry, seems to be a bit of a neat freak, but doesn't get irritated when a mess is made, just cleans it up. Almost constantly listens to music, likes to dance.....Enjoys a GOOD musical..Fiddler on The Roof, Music Man, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Sweeney Todd, etc...Doesn't mind, and occasionally enjoys a GOOD chick flick, but also watches movies like, Avatar (Sam Worthington, blue aliens), From Paris With Love (John Travolta), The Rock (Sean Connery & Nicholas Cage), XXX (Vin Diesel) .300 ..Likes to read, and intelligent, but doesn't seem to do much of importance with it. Knows how to cook, and enjoys doing it for others....things like Potato salad, Spaghetti (from scratch, home made noodles & sauce), pies, cakes, veggie pizzas, cookies, brownies etc...but doesn't necessarily enjoy eating..(all from scratch).... ...Doesn't really laugh much, but smiles instead....Isn't very sexual, at least doesn't push for it.....Likes to talk, but not really good at initiating conversation. . taste in music. playlist.com/playlist/20579631371
Food for an Eclectus? i have a gorgeous 15 week old Eclectus boy. His diet consists of veges all day, a small amount of pellets/seed in his cage etc. Of a night when i get home i cut him up a heap of fresh fruit. He still seems to be wanting more food, i don't think he's getting sufficent. Any suggestions? i was going to start cooking and mashing some evening veges for him to have, fill him up more! How long would a good amount of cooked and mashed sweet potato and carrot last in an air tight sealed container in the fridge? I would cook enough for a few nights, and reheat of an evening so its nice and warm for him. but wouldn't want him getting ill if this isn't good for him.
I think I have colorectal or colon cancer!? I am 16 years old, a couch potato but I jump on a trampoline every day to every other day, a tend to stand alot but mostly sit down. i must say i do have a bad diet, when school let out i came to my cousins where they only have 1 meal a day and ive been here for almost 4 weeks and have lost 20 pounds! i thought it was because i was staying over here but i was a little suspicious since i have not lost a pound in years. for the past 2 months i have had blood in my stool and becuase it was hard i suspected it was a hemmorhoid and then it just stopped about a week ago altogether. just yesterday my right side around the bottom of my right rib cage started having minor pains so i looked it up and read it could be colorectal or colon cancer. can you guys help me. im about to cry and im only 16. i dont want to die young. i was about to ask out a girl that means the world to me around the time i went back to school and i dont think i can be with her if i find out i cant spend the rest of my life with her. shes my everything. <3

whats with all of these dreams??? what do they mean? like every week 4-5 nights a week i dream about one of my teachers.. even tho she is my favourite teacher.. do u think its a little weird i keep having dreams about her...? umm this has been happening for about 2-3 months but recently in the past week or so it has gotten more requent cause im like having a dream about her everynight even if she only plays a small part in a dream. its not like anything out of the ordinary its just basic teacher stuff except one night she was really angry at me for no reason which was kinda weird cause she is never really really angry towards anyone she is just nice and kind....... the thing is i do think about her and her class a fair bit... anyhoo... do you think these dreams mean anything?? like the other night the dream i had about her was that i had made a clay hand in art class (which she is my art teacher) and i got the hand stuck in a cage thing and she was trying to get it down for me then after that me and my friend and her were talking and joking around and she said something weird like people used to video her doing work and stuff and then i put my friend in a big potato bag and started running up and down the corridor and my teacher was laughing her head off at it.. it was really strange... what do these all mean???
What to do for very tall girls? My daughter is 11 years old and is already nearly 5'4" tall. She's about as tall as I was when I was her age, and I ended up 5'9". Height runs in my family, my grandmother (born 1919) was 5'10" and all of the men in the family are over 6' tall. Her 18 y/o brother is nearly 6'5". She is also built to be very tall, but not the thin, model-type tall, but more athletic, more proportioned. She already has the rib-cage and hip-bone width and depth, big thick thigh bone and muscle for a tall frame. She will grow into that frame in height (think about puppies growing into large paws) but right now it makes her look very, ahem, sturdy, at the moment. Right now she wears a juniors size 11 and hasn't been able to wear "children's" clothes in a couple of years. I wore size 11 at her age and wound up wearing a size 13 at my full height, so I don't expect her to get wider, just grow into her width. There's a good chance she'll still wear these same clothes in two years, but they'll be too short. She is the only girl in her age group at school who isn't still wearing children's clothes, and the style contrast is obvious. Because the sizes she wears are designed for more "mature" teens, even if they cover her properly, they are cut to look more worldly, a bit inappropriate on an 11 year-old girl. She's also, like me, an early bloomer, she wears a bra because she needs it, not a training bra. Students tease her and I've gotten calls from her teachers about her "inappropriate" clothing. No, her belly doesn't show and they aren't cut low, no peek-a-boo shirts, nothing anyone would consider inappropriate on an older teen at school. It all fits well into the school dress code. Even school uniforms cut for teens have this "inappropriate" look on her. The teachers can't find any specifics on what is wrong with her clothes, just that she's too "sexy" for an 11 y/o. I think they want her to start wearing a potato sack to school. She loves art and fashion, keep in mind she is a pink-hearts-and-ruffles girly-girl and hates anything that could be perceived as masculine or plain clothes. Help! What clothes can she wear that fits with her girly, artsy sense of self and get the teachers and kids to leave her alone?
How to I take care of a Dove? My cat attacked a Morning Dove today. I saved it and now have it in an old bird cage of mine. I have decided to keep it and to domesticate it. Its in its adolescents, only about 4-5 inches long. Just wondering how to take care of it. It has a very bad scratch under its wing from the cat. I applied medicated Veterinary neosporin (vasoline/petroleum jelly mixed with antibiotics and pain reliever) to the wound and will continue to do so until it heals. As of now I am feeding it a mixture of crushed dry cat food, wet cat food, dried mashed potato buds, boiled egg yokes, fish flakes, tiny bit of sugar, oatmeal, and about half a drop of veterinary vitamins all mixed with warm milk. the bird appears to like it. I would just like to know if this is the right thing to feed the Dove? Is this the right way to tend the wound? How exactly do I take care of it? I assume I dont treat it like a dog. What do i feed it when it grows out of adolescents? and any other information would be deeply appreciated. Thank you very much!

does anyone know the reason behind these dreams? like every week 4-5 nights a week i dream about one of my teachers.. even tho she is my favourite teacher.. do u think its a little weird i keep having dreams about her...? its not like anything out of the ordinary its just basic teacher stuff except one night she was really angry at me for no reason which was kinda weird cause she is never really really angry towards anyone she is just nice and kind....... also i do think about her and her class a fair bit... anyhow... do you think these dreams mean anything?? like last night the dream i had about her was that i had made a clay hand in art class (which she is my art teacher) and i got the hand stuck in a cage thing and she was trying to get it down for me then after that me and my friend and her were talking and joking around and she said something weird like people used to video her doing work and stuff and then i put my friend in a big potato bag and started running up and down the corridor and my teacher was laughing her head off at it.. it was really strange what does this mean
How likely is it that my hamster will catch the cold I have? My infection came on yesterday - a phelgmy, chesty cough that left a taste in my mouth, fatigue, some nausea. Briefly forgot it was a bad idea to handle them when you have a cold/cough and gave him some potato titbits and took him out a couple of times. Then remembered. He's in a room that's warm all the time, he drank some dilute milk with sugar in today, he's coming out for food and currently quite normal if a little sleepy. Only two sneezes. No sign of abnormal poos. Washing my hands several times a day with soap, and before changing his food and water. Coughing and sneezing away from the cage and towards the floor (in an area he never goes). How likely is it he's been infected with my cold? There is a vet within about 2 miles from me. Please read the whole question, and answer what you think - not just one or two word answers. Thanks!
Can you name some reasons to go vegetarian? ONE HUNDRED & ONE REASONS TO GO VEGETARIAN People Land Air Water Efficiency Animals Health PEOPLE Every year in the UK we feed our livestock enough food to feed 250,000,000 people while in the world 30,000,000 people die of starvation 20 vegetarians can live off the land required by one meat eater Every 3 seconds a child dies of starvation somewhere in the world If Americans reduced their meat consumption by 10% it would free 12,000,000 tons of grain - enough to feed 60,000,000 people (the population of Great Britain) If all Americans became vegetarian, it would free enough grain to feed 600,000,000 people (the population of India) Intensification in animal farming has displaced 1,000,000's of people from their traditional lands - eg. indigenous people in south & central america, native americans in north america & crofters in Great Britain - this is continuing today People displaced from their lands into cities succumb to dietary deficiency, diseases, parasites & opportunistic diseases In third world countries 1 in 10 babies die before their first birthday The UK imports £46,000,000 worth of grain from third world countries to feed our livestock Due to overgrazing 850,000,000 people live on land threatened by desertification & over 230,000,000 already live on land so severely desertified that they are unable to sustain their existence & face imminent starvation 1,000,000,000 people in the west gorging on meat & dairy leave 1,000,000,000 to waste away & 3,500,000,000 teeter on the brink LAND If they continue to clear American forests to raise cattle at the present rate, in 50 years there will be none left 1 acre yields 165 lbs of beef or 20,000 lbs of potatoes 8/10 of cultivated land in the UK is used to grow food for animals (14,732,000 hectares) It takes 16lbs of high protein soya to produce 1 lb of beef Since 1945 in the UK we have lost 95% of flower meadows, 50% of ancient woodlands, 40% of heathlands, 50% of wet lands & 224,000 km of hedgerows all due to animal farming Pressure on land due to meat farming leads to soil erosion 6billion tons/year in the USA If everyone went vegetarian upto 90% of land used for animal farming could be taken out of production & used to replant woodlands, leisure activities etc. 25% of Central america's forests have been destroyed for cattle grazing since 1960 Between 1966-1983 38% of the Amazon rain forest was destroyed for cattle grazing 90% of cattle ranches established on cleared forest land go bankrupt in less than 8 years as the land becomes barren due to nutrient loss & overgrazing Overgrazing by cattle is destroying the land & increasing desertification, nearly 430 million acres in the USA alone has suffered a 25-50% reduction in yield since first grazed An inch of topsoil takes 200-1000 years to develop - yet in the USA they have lost around 1/3 of their prime topsoil in 200 years (around 7 inches) due to animal farming Land will be lost due to rises in sea level due to global warming due to animal farming AIR The destruction of the rainforest by cattle farmers is destroying the lungs of the planet & reducing the worlds capacity to replenish our oxygen supply The 1,300,000,000 cattle in the world emit 60,000,000 tons of methane per year (methane is a greenhouse gas & leads to global warming) Burning of forests, grasslands & agricultural waste associated with animal farming releases 50-100,000,000 tons of methane per year Combining these figures, 25% of methane emissions are due to animal farming (not including the billions of sheep, pigs & poultry so the real figure is much higher) Fertilizer used to grow crops to feed to animals releases nitrous oxide - thought to account for 6% of the greenhouse effect Fertilizer, weedkiller & pesticides sprayed on crops enter the atmosphere creating a noxious carcinogenic cocktail CFCs are released into the air from refrigeration units used to store decomposing flesh (meat), milk & butter - CFCs are destroy the ozone layer Ammonia from animal urine also pollutes the atmosphere CO2 is released by burning oil & petrol in lorries, ships, abattoirs, dairies, factories etc. associated with meat & dairy production Emissions from large chemical plants which produce fertilizer, weedkiller & other agricultural chemicals are also poisoning our air WATER 25 gallons of water to produce 1lb of wheat & 2500 gallons to produce 1lb of meat UK farm animals produce 200,000,000 tonnes of slurry (liquid excrement) every year, the majority of which ends up in our rivers Bloody waste water from abattoirs ends up in our rivers In the USA every second humans produce 12,000 lbs of effluent while farmed animals produce 250,000 lbs Nitrates & pesticides used on crops grown to feed livestock end up in our rivers Meat & dairy farming uses 70 litres of water per day per animal in the UK or 159,250,000,000 litres per year in total The water used to produce 10 lbs of steak is equivalent to the average consumption of water for an entire household for an entire year Depletion of groundwater reserves to grow crops for animals & to supply abattoirs will lead to greater water shortages Aquafers (stores of underground water) in the San Joaquin valley in the USA are being drained at the rate of 500,000,000,000 gallons/year to produce meat 18% of all agricultural land in the world is irrigated & as global warming increases (partly due to animal farming) it will cost $200,000,000 to keep these systems going The water used to produce a 1000 lb beef steer is enough to float a Destroyer battleship The liquid waste from the various parts of the meat & dairy industry flow into the rivers & from there into the seas polluting them & encouraging huge algal blooms to grow EFFICIENCY To produce 1calorie of energy from meat takes 60 calories of petrol, whereas growing grains & legumes to directly feed people produces 20 calories for each calorie of fuel used ( thats 1200 times more efficient) Meat & dairy farming uses billions of gallons of oil to run tractors, fuel ships & lorries (to move animal feed & animals), pump billions of gallons of water to irrigate fields & run slaughterhouses, power refrigeration units to prevent the corpses from decomposing & to power sewage plants to clean up some of the pollution produced Cattle convert only 6% of their energy intake (mainly grains & soya) into flesh, the remaining 94% is wasted as heat, movement (which is why they keep many animals in very close confinement), hair, bones, faeces etc 1lb of beef takes 1 gallon of petrol to produce A family of four eating beef for a year uses enough petrol to run a car for 6 months (obviously depending on how far you drive!) If the full ecological cost of meat was passed onto the consumer - the price would be quadrupled (at least) The EC spends œ100,000,000's to subsidise animal production resulting in lakes of unwanted milk & mountains of unwanted meat & butter. This money could be better spent encouraging organic fruit, vegetable & grain production In the USA in 1979 145,000,000 tons of crops were fed to cattle resulting in only 21million tons of animal bodies - the cost of the wasted crops was $20,000,000,000 Between 1950 & 1985 grain production in Europe & the USA increased massively but 2/3 was fed to animals 70% of all grain is fed to animals Eating vast quantities of animal flesh, eggs, milk & butter is a luxury that most of the planet can not afford ANIMALS Fishing with drift (and other modern) nets weakens & destroys ecosystems by indiscriminately killing billions of sea creatures & disrupting the sea bed Fishermen's nets kill 10 times as many other animals as the fish they are hoping to catch Fish caught in nets die an agonising slow death of suffocation Each year 15,000,000,000 land animals are slaughtered for food & an unknown but much larger number of sea creatures (including 1000's of dolphins caught accidentally) Chickens are crammed into battery cages with upto 3 other birds, they are unable to even spread their wings & many can not even stand up Unwanted male chicks (because they can't lay eggs) are gassed or pulped while their sisters go to the battery sheds Chicks are debeaked without anaesthetic to prevent them injuring each other in the unnaturally confined conditions they are kept in - this is equivalent to having your fingernails pulled out without anaesthetic Modern farming methods using growth hormones & artificial lighting mean that many chickens out grow their bones, resulting in fractured & broken legs Sows are kept tethered in stalls 1.3 x 1 metre on concrete or slatted floors - they can not even turn around Poultry raised for meat are kept in windowless broiler sheds, with around 20-30,000 in each shed, they live in an area of 10-20 cm square - fighting due to overcrowding is common & like battery hens they commonly suffer from supperating bed sores Broilersheds are artificially lit 23 hours a day to produce rapid growth Animals travel between farms & to slaughter in overcrowded transporters with no food or water - resulting in stress, injuries & deaths - legal requirements are widely ignored 95% of poultry suffer injuries before being killed & 30% suffer broken bones Problems with stunning practices mean that many animals have their throats slit while still conscious (around 6% of cattle or 200,000 per year) & are then dipped in tanks of scalding water (to loosen feathers, bristles etc.) again while fully conscious 4000 animals die spurting their blood out every minute in a British slaughterhouse Calf leather comes from animals killed at just 2 weeks old Cows were fed on the ground up remains of other cows & sheep - the result is thought to be BSE (mad cow disease) in the USA cattle are fed partly on recycled plastic pellets Cows only give milk for 10 months after they have a calf - so they are routinely artificially inseminated (ie. mechanically raped) to keep them pregnant & milking - their calves are taken away (usually at 12 hours old) for meat or export to veal crates Cows would naturally live upto 20 years but are slaughtered after 5-7 years when their milk production begins to fall In the UK animals are killed by first being stunned with electricity or a captive bolt gun (ie. a bolt is fired into their heads) before having their throats slit & being plunged into boiling water - all this happens on a production line with the animals being hung upside down from a moving conveyor belt - this is factory farming "Animals are those unfortunate slaves & victims of the most brutal part of mankind" - John Stewart Mill (philosopher) Veal calves are confined in stalls in the dark, unable to move & are fed on pigs blood , chocolate & dried milk (we are drinking the rich fresh milk of their mothers) Cows naturally produce 5 litres of milk per day for their calves - under the intensified systems of modern farming they produce 25-40 litres per day - resulting in swollen & inflamed udders - at this rate they are soon worn out Large areas of land are under monoculture to grow crops to feed to animals - these areas are wildlife deserts supporting fewer & fewer species. HEALTH Vegetarians have a 20% lower rate of mortality from all causes (ie. they live longer & don't get sick as often) Meat is full of traces of antibiotics, hormones, toxins produced by stress & pesticide residues that become concentrated from all the crops they have eaten Fish contain heavy metals & other pollutants -many of which originated on farms The world health organisation recommends a diet low in saturated fat, sugar, salt & with plenty of fibre - exactly what you get on a vegan/vegetarian diet Farmed animals contain upto 50% saturated fat in their bodies Vegetarians have 24% reduced risk of getting heart disease & Vegans a 57% reduction (heart disease is the biggest killer in the UK accounting for 50% of deaths) Obesity is rare in vegetarians, obesity is related to many diseases Vegans & vegetarians have lower blood pressure & cholesterol levels - high levels are associated with heart disease, strokes & kidney failure Vegetarians have a 50% reduced risk of dying of diabetes Vegetarians have a 40% reduced level of cancer than the general population thought to be because they have a higher intake of vitamins A,C & E Vegetarians have a reduced risk of developing gall & kidney stones 80% of food poisoning is due to infected meat (faeces, bacteria etc.) after all meat is decomposing flesh - most of the rest is due to salmonella in eggs Osteoporosis due to calcium loss from bones is mainly due to the sulphur content in meat & casein protein in milk that cause calcium to be lost in the urine - the countries with the highest meat & dairy consumption are those with the highest levels of brittle bones 50% of people do not have the enzyme to digest milk properly & milk allergy is related to asthma & eczema Meat eaters have double the rate of Alzheimers disease as Vegans & Vegetarians - some people also think that Parkinsons disease is also linked to meat eating Egg yolk is a dense concentration of saturated fat & the white is high in albumin protein associated with leaching calcium into your urine. Butter is 80% saturated fat, cream is 40% saturated fat & cheese is 25-40% saturated fat Meat eaters are two and a half times more likely to get bowel cancer than Vegetarians The cling film used to wrap meat in supermarkets & butchers contains chemicals linked to falling sperm counts in men Chinese people (living mainly on a vegetarian diet) consume 20% more calories than Americans but Americans are 20% fatter Of 2,100,000 deaths in the USA in 1987, 1,500,000 were related to diet (ie. meat & dairy) AND I COULD GO ON ! If you've read this far, I hope that you are beginning to see that the Meat & Dairy industry is a major contributor to misery on this planet. It is destroying the health of people in rich countries, starving those in poor countries, it is torturing & killing billions of animals every year and in the meantime it is one of the major factors in the destruction of the environment - so what does the meat & dairy industry have to say in it's defence? Well their only real point is usually "Meat is tasty" - fair enough a lot of people enjoy the taste of meat - but there are plenty of delicious alternatives (just consider the huge range of vegetarian dishes in Indian cooking - one of the oldest & most sophisticated cuisines in the world) and if you really crave meat & dairy, nowadays there are plenty of healthy non animal alternatives - just look in the supermarket & health food shop. So I hope you will agree it's pretty pathetic to consider all the evidence & then say "well I know you're right about the environment & health & the animals - but I just love my meat" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: ARC is @nti-copyright throughout - Copy and distribute any part as you wish. I'm stuck at the mid-point of my Chapter Three. Opinions of it, please. :)? My story has nothing to do with vampires or werewolves whatsoever. Woot, woot! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that those odd underscore marks represent blank spots for things i couldn't fill in, can't think of a good name for them. >_>
what is the reason behind all these dreams? like every week 4-5 nights a week i dream about one of my teachers.. even tho she is my favourite teacher.. do u think its a little weird i keep having dreams about her...? umm this has been happening for about 2-3 months but recently in the past week or so it has gotten more requent cause im like having a dream about her everynight even if she only plays a small part in a dream. its not like anything out of the ordinary its just basic teacher stuff except one night she was really angry at me for no reason which was kinda weird cause she is never really really angry towards anyone she is just nice and kind....... the thing is i do think about her and her class a fair bit... anyhoo... do you think these dreams mean anything?? like the other night the dream i had about her was that i had made a clay hand in art class (which she is my art teacher) and i got the hand stuck in a cage thing and she was trying to get it down for me then after that me and my friend and her were talking and joking around and she said something weird like people used to video her doing work and stuff and then i put my friend in a big potato bag and started running up and down the corridor and my teacher was laughing her head off at it.. it was really strange... what do these all mean??? sorry its long but i thort i should tell yas everything so i can know what all these dreams are about......... btw its not like i care bout having dreams bout her but i just wanna know why?? :D
What dog breed would you recommend? My fiance and I are moving to Denver, Colorado in a few months and are interested in a second dog. My first is a rescued mix, and does well with other dogs. I'm interested in a Border Collie, mainly because I need a dog that can keep up with daily hikes, bike rides, ect. My current dog is more of a couch potato. I've done a lot of research on the breed, but the only thing that concerns me, is the fact that we also have an African Gray parrot, and we're worried that because of the breed's high instinct to herd, that it might go after the bird because of its constant twitching and climbing inside and outside the cage. I can't find a lot of info on how BC's do with pets like birds. So, if anyone has any experience with BC's in this situation, I'd love an opinion, or an opinion on another breed that might work out better. Thanks!

I'm having some trouble getting my Cockatiel to eat fruits & veggies ? So, I've had my Cockatiel, Piper, for about two to three weeks now.. She's friendly, cuddly, and as personable as it gets. She's out of her cage ninety percent of the day, and is only put away when we need to go somewhere or when it's time to go to bed. She's always supervised, by the way. I'm no dummy. :] My question is.. she eats Cockatiel formula food that has seeds, etc, whatnot in it, has cuttlefish (the flaky, oval-shaped block of.. hard-to-describe stuff that you hang in their cage?), and LOOOVES millet.. she'll eat apples occasionally, loves potatoes, loves pasta, loves bread.. but I can't get her to eat any fruits or vegetables ! I just offered her a grape, but she refused it. She doesn't even try it ! She's two years old, by the way, so I don't know if her young age plays a part in it or not. How do I go about getting her to eat, or at least try, new fruits and veggies ? By the way, I've tried to feed her broccoli, tangerines, clementines, peas, and most recently, grapes. I forgot to mention that she's okay with peas, but it's like apples: she'll only eat them occasionally. All of my other attempts to feed her the aforementioned foods have failed miserably.
Rat question...is this a bad idea? Umm, ever since i ratproofed my room safely for my three rats, Scorpious, Rayn, and Kusa, i have tried to let them out of their cage every time i am in there. But like if i eat in my room or anything, they always share with me. (not really my choice, if i try to hold it up high they climb me.) i have heard that rats are sanitary enough to not make it matter if they eat your food, but i also read that they have some stuff in their paws that secretes some scent stuff so that where they go they can leave a scent trail (i have noticed this with my rats. So sometimes when they stick their pwas in my soup or something it bugs me a bit. They don't normally though. (and my soup is healthy, vegetarian vegetable with some veggies in it, they fish for the peas and corn and potatoes). I don't really mind about that. But is that healthy for them though? i mean, it isn't like it is a bunch of stuff, they just tear off little bits of solid things i may have, or drink soup. Sometimes they lap up my drinks, but i don't try to let them do that because i rarely drink water, and i don't want to give them a whole lot of milk in case it hurts their stomachs, and i rarely give them soda and try to keep it out of their reach since they can't burp. But sometimes if i have sweet stuff they steal that too. For instance, i had smashed zebra cake things from a spring fling thing at my school, and they licked it from my fingers instead of eating the little bits i gave them. Also, they have found little objects, like a nerf thing which they chewed up and hid, and a silver marble they stashed away. I try not to give them too much stuff, but will they be okay? for instance, they used to get out of their cage a lot until i secured a part with wire, and i made them some peanut butter cookies (from a rat site) for training, but they loved them and when i was gone and they got out, they chewed through the bag and ate some. Then i had to throw them away because they got moldy. Cute ratties! uggh, it was gross though. So, will they be fine like this if i don't give them a bunch of stuff? I mean, i don't give them a whole lot, and usually it is pretty healthy. Please don't just tell me not to let them out of the cage, or tell me they are gross, or just say 'eww rats' or say 'eww don't share food with rats they are disgusting'. I try to be careful, but my rats just took a bunch of potato chips from me. i was going to give them just a tiny bit (because they are fried and fatty and salty, not good if too muc) and the went over my hand and attacked the bag; it split open and chips flew everywhere and they grabbed a bunch and hid them who knows where. they just kept randomly chewing on chips, i don't know where they =his them.
Should I rescue a Degu? (Basic care information)? My local shelter has had a few (2) degus for quite some time and I was wondering if I rescued degus are tamable the listing says that they're young. I know the basics to degu care, but housing is a concern of mine on how big the cage should be I know they are messy i was wondering if a 10 gallon aquarium with the wire top would be large enough? Here is the link (the measurements doubled would be actual size): http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=6067+10431+17073&pcatid=17073 It would be for two degus. Feeding I have read that Chinchilla/guinea pig mixture 1:1. Then grass, hay, sweet potatoes, twigs (to grind teeth) but I don't get which twigs are okay can I buy branches from a pet store or?? Any care information would be great and any links to care, cages etc would be much appreachiated!! Okay no clue what I was thinking but 10 gallon is way too small! I have no clue why i thought that.
A few questions about my pet rat? 1. How can I get him to lose weight? He'll run around and play when he's outside of his cage, but when he's inside he either eats or sleeps. 2. What's better for exercise? A running wheel that goes inside of his cage, or a ball to put him in so that he can run around on the floor safely? Or are both of them good? 3. What do rats enjoy playing with (toys, games..) and what can I do to make his days more fun? 4. Is it okay to give him a couple of little bites of holiday leftovers, like turkey, mashed potatoes, etc.. Basically, can they eat most people foods? Thank you, have a great holiday season! (:
Please help!? We have a pantry moth and gnat problem.? We have more pantry moths than gnats it seems. They are up in the birds' stuff, getting in the water, the vinegar (I use that to clean the bird cages and it's mostly gnats that like that), laying tiny cocoons in clothing, blankets (especially that cover the bird cage), and if I leave the top off anything, they get into it. And the worst part of these little things is even closed containers (like cardboard boxes of mashed potatoes, cereal boxes, bird food supplies, etc. I have to put in the fridge to keep them from using that, and I don't have much room left in the fridge! I've even put stuff in the deep freeze, including a jewelry box that looked hand made. But these things are still all over the place, and since I've been trying to get rid of them, I think they've gotten more spread out in the house, and they seem to breed like fleas and roaches!). What else do I do (and it has to be all natural so hopefully it won't kill or poison our birds)? I don't want to get rid of the birds, we love them too much. And I can't take away the birds' food supplies to starve the moths, because then the birds will have to go hungry. Any suggestions, especially all natural ones that won't hurt our birds?
Hi, Hows you doing? I'm looking for a breeder of baby panda hamsters Anyone help me? My panda hamster died last week. He was 2 1/2 years old. He was white and browny-black. He died peacefully on my lap. I had a cuddle everyday which he loved. I saved him some of my food for him to eat while he's on my lap or if any left I put it in his cage for him at night-time. I miss him very much. He loved beef, pork, rice, spaghetti, yogurts, cottage cheese, potatoes, peas, sweetcorn, carrots, ice-cream, cheese, grapes, crackers, biscuits ect. Has anyone breed panda hamsters in Exeter U.K

Remember When GRANT (GH) Kidnapped ANNA ...? There were two Grants, from what I remember. The nut was Grant Putnam, who looked like the sane Grant. Somebody just reminded me of that FATEFUL DAY in GH history ... ... Remember when Grant Putnam broke into Anna's place? He found an 8 year-old Robin instead, and grabbed her. I don't remember if his original target was Robin, but he was holding Robin like a sack of potatoes and walking out the door with her struggling to get away ... when Mama Anna walked in! The look on Anna's face was PRICEless, lol! She looked like, "Have you FRIGGIN' lost your MIND?!" Right away ... she got into the Charlie's Angels judo stance ... and challenged the fruitcake! Happy to meet the challenge, Grant Putnam dropped Robin and took the same stance! They fought ... but, alas! Anna got knocked out, and Grant kidnapped HER instead of Robin! The thing that I will always remember about that is, #1, how absolutely GLEEful Grant was to have the person in his clutches that he really had in in for, and #2 ... how he taunted her from her cage by calling her name, over and over again, "Ah-nah' ... Ah-nah' ... Ah-nah'!" It ... was ... creepy! Does anybody remember the situation ... why he hated Robert and Anna so much ... and who the heck was this other Grant whose face that Grant Putnam had? I think his name was Grant Anderson, or something like that! And, isn't it amazing how little Robin's face has changed from when she was a little girl? A LOT of kids grow up to look somewhat different ... but not Kimberly McCoullough!
What is a good chew stick? Hi!!! Okay, I'm currently the owner of two hamsters. One Syrian, one Roborovski. Of course, they have separate cages. I was wondering if there's any good chew sticks that you use for your hamsters that the hamsters actually love to nibble on. I've bought some chew sticks, but all of the colouring on it came off and went onto the bedding and on the hamster when Potato (the Syrian) pushed in under the water bottle. So yes, I need an appealing chew stick. Please give me link and tell me how often your hamster nibbles on it, and how much your hamster loves it. I can only buy chew sticks from PetSmart or Petco, by the way. Thanks to everybody who answers!
please critic short story!!!!!? The Observer I never seemed to fit in with the rest of the children. Most would play with their blocks and toy cars. I would just sit and watch them. My teacher and parents thought that I was developing slowly, for I would never talk to others. After various tests with doctors they found that I had the ability to talk; it was only my choice not to. Soon my watching turned out to be magnificent observation skills, which improved as I matured. I was able to look around a room and point out people who seemed fake. They would hide their agony with a smile. Their act does not fool me. My parents are like that as they roam around the crowd at our neighborhood block parties. They tend to smile and chat with the others. Talking about their lives and all the good in it to make themselves appear like they have the perfect lives. Likewise, I could see the misery they hid behind their exaggerated smiles. When they look at me with that smile and say, ‘what a good little boy we have’, only their eyes tell the truth. The bottom lid winces up, the whites show above the iris, the pupils contract, and the usual slight rise to the brow is apparent. If only I could free them of their suffering, but only as angels can they receive that freedom. As an angel one can observe all the faces of the ignorant humans. Angels can see the emotions in people, not only the pain, but the happiness as well. So far all I saw was pain, I was unable to see happiness. One day, I myself would become an angel, but before that day comes I knew I needed to help my parents first. After an ordinary supper of pork chops and potatoes, my parents and I returned to our quarters to prepare for the next day with a good night’s rest. I lied in bed with a blank mind, nothing was going on; the world was silent. I quietly exited through the door tip-toeing down the stairs, being careful not to make a squeak on the old hardwood flooring. At the end of the stairs, I entered the kitchen recognizing the cutlery. I grabbed a knife; its edge was sharp and without ridges, and the cool blade of steel was able to catch my own reflection as I picked it up. I stared at myself, my face was blank and holding no emotion whatsoever. I glided down the hallway and opened the door. I looked upon the bed, as my parents lied silently as if they knew someone was in the room. I slowly crept forward and the smell of my mothers rose perfume grew more intense as I moved closer. I stared at her face as she breathed heavily. The knife drew across her throat and a dark line became apparent on her neck as crimson poured onto the bed. Mother sat silently not making a sound, except for her last breath being released. I crawled over the bed and lied beside my father I took the knife and dragged the tip against my father’s throat, saving his last words. His blood oozed over his shirt as well as my hands. I observed him, and his face had been freed from the pain that had once been present. I got up from the bed and sat in the corner of their room. I took the knife that was drenched with the blood of my parents and cleaned it on my shirt. Lifting my eyes, I gazed at their lifeless bodies and said, “You are now with the angels”. Something wet hit my hands, unlike the blood it was cold and unnatural. The drop seemed to be coming from my eyes. I fell asleep in the corner as the cold, clear drops fell and mixed with the blood on my hands. The next day I woke to a clear, sunny sky. My stomach grumbled and I got up to eat. My parents were still lying on the bed, not moving and hot to the touch. I sat alone at the kitchen table eating my cereal. Later that evening, police came to our house, and spotted me with my crimson stained shirt. They took me to a place where I had not seen before, and locked me inside a cage as if I were an animal. Forcefully, the police brought me to a room with a dark window. I sat down in the cold chair looking down at my bloody hands. “Did you kill your parents?” the man asked. I looked up at the man into his dark eyes and his hardened, furred brow. “Why?” ,he questioned me. My dry lips managed to separate, “They needed to be… a… angels… unhappy… they were, it was either… me or them. If… it was me, w… who would k… kill them?”. The man’s faced softened, yet his furred brow remained in place. The man continued to question me, but I had no interest in answering so I just observed his face as the various expressions changed. It seemed hours before they police finally gave up and brought me out of the building. I assumed they would bring me home and that they had realized I was the hero and not the villain, instead they brought me to a bigger brighter building. I looked upon the building, bright lights shown upon the large white building and the dark sky was a contrast to its brightness. An enchanted brick wall surrounded the building and the police and I stood at the metal gate. The gate opened and we approached the white building. The inside of the place was white too, everyone wore white in this place. A lady in white glided up to me with the same crooked smile my mother had, but hers had more craze in it. She took my arm and brought me to two other people with that smile the woman wore and wrapped me in a white suit where my arms where restricted. They forcefully took me down the halls where they placed me on a metal bed in a blank room. The people closed the door and left me to ponder. I gazed around the dull room with walls that were white and cushioned. It felt as if I were in the same isolated cage as in the police station, but instead, there were no bars and no windows, yet the cell remained to be bright. The room grew hotter and sweat dispersed from my face. What was there to do? What was there to observe? I had to get out of this place. I would go mad if otherwise. I looked around, but all that was there was the metal bed. I turned to the bed. If I could at least see my reflection in the steel posts I might not go crazy. Nothing. I banged my head against the bed, then again, then another time, but harder. Blood dripped down on the floor and my lips stretched across my cheeks. This was my way out. I kept on banging my head till the people in white entered, by this point I already knew what was to become of me. This was my time to join my parents and to become one of the angels.
I have a 9 month old english bull terrier. I walk her daily but I'm just wondering when will she calm down? I have heard that they become couch potatoes at a certain age.. but I'm wondering when that age is?? We have her crate trained also, but and she goes in it when we are sleeping or not at home... but will she ever be able to just roam the house without doing something bad? We have her pretty welled training even though she can be bad. We know that they can be very destructive and eat EVERYTHING... but im wondering also, will she eventually grow out of that, so she can be left out of her cage?
how do mice courteach other. Or do they...? I'll explain the meat and potatoes point, then go into detail. Toastee (male), Tedders (male), Athena (female) are all in a fifty five gallon aquarium. The two males fight on occasion. The males, one at a time, go up beside Athena and grooms themselves. She grooms herself and checks out his stuff. Then she continues doing what she was doing. Sometimes the male act like they are going to mate her, but she darts into her tunnel. Does that mean she's not ready?? The cage is longs and contains: Food Bowl (size large Nibble Bowl from petsmart), Water bowl (They don't drink from a bottle), wheel, Broken roundabout ball (turned on it's side with the top off and Toastee sleeps in it), Paper towel roll, Toilet paper roll, Home made hideyhouse, elbow pvc pipe. There is also, yogurt drops hidden in places and a Shred a Box toy. Is something stopingthem from breeding. How do I tell if Athena is ready to breed. They are pets, not food, and I have 36 good homes lined up. I'm prepared. Thanks so much
question about chickens? i was thinking about buying some chickens...like, lives ones... so we can have eggs... we have made a vegetable garden, complete with potatoes, beetroots, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, silverbeet etc... and i was thinking of getting chickens so we can have our own eggs too... but i have a cat but he wouldnt attack thembecause he is scared of everything, so i dont think he will attack them, especially if their in a cage... but i live in the suburbs and our back fence is adjacent to quite a busy road which is known to have big loud trucks on it, and i was wondering are chickens hard work? and also is it a bad idea to have it in my back yard considering the traffic? thanks
Lindsay, geeze I suppose you're one of those people who yell at the hundreds of people throwing french fries out their windows at a fast food drive ins for the birds or taking, crackers or popcorn to the pond. Dang get off your high horse, it's just a chip or two a week. "What if you cannot resist giving your parrot some potato chips or cookies? It’s okay to give your bird a taste “every now and then,” said Missouri veterinarian and aviculturist, Julie Burge, DVM, but it needs to be “in reasonable quantities, and with regard to your bird’s health status" - Taken from Jessica's article link...thanks Jess and everyone else Ok it was super hard to pick the best answer because they are all so good . I have to address one thing to mockingbird down there. I came here to see if it was OK, to see if other people also did this, I’m not going to insult you like you asked but I can’t give you best answer either, because your answer was defiantly not the best , there are 11 better answers to choose from, but Yes I want to see if it’s alright, that’s why I came… I just don’t like overdramatic people acting like Chips are all I feed my bird, I feed her the very best diet and occasionally my husband slips her a treat, she is extremely well taken care of and chips are not a staple of her diet or and every day thing, just once in a while. And you know what? most people here do give them to their birds, the articles I did look up and read last night also agree that once in a while is ok. It’s not the end of the world, my bird has never even been sick, she’s five years old now, very robust, healthy and happy. Sapphyre , almost home, Jessica, sunny, penny W, Tori, kjc21783, are at the top of my list for best answer, I can’t chose all of you so you get the highest honorable mentions

please critic my short story? The inside
