Hoei bird cages - how to renew the metal bars of cage itself? I have several large Hoei bird cages that are great. Is there such a thing to divide bird cages? A question about bird cages and a Budgie? My brother has a Budgie and we've been reluctant to clean the grate of the cage too often because the grate can't be removed without removing the bottom of the cage. Last time we tried to do it his budgie tried to jail break. Is it okay to just wash the poo off with a wet cloth or paper towel (using just water)? When I say just with a paper tower I mean without removing anything and sticking my hand through one of the food or water openings on the cage with the towel. Already used the paper towel, but my cage has both a grate and a slide out part to put newspaper on (which is what we put at the bottom). He likes to walk around on the grate sometimes though so I don't think I should remove it.

How to refurbish a rusted bird cage.? I recently got a bird cage from a friend of mine. It is quite rusted. The bottom plastic part has been cleaned and sanitized. Quaker Bird Cages - Ways to keep it locked? A friend of mine just bought a bird cage, but learned her mother was allergic or something to birds, so I bought it off her hands for my incoming Quaker birdie. I know they are smart and that they can easily open cages without a locking mechanism. This one has no lock whatsoever, it's just one of those that you life up the door to get access inside the cage. I'm afraid that the bird will get it open and fly about, so I was wondering if there was anything to go on and off to lock the door, and if so where can I find it? And getting another cage is out of the question right now. Any help is appreciated! Good quality one piece metal bird cages? (canary)? Does anyone know where I can go on the Net in finding good quality, metal bird cages, preferably one piece? I don't care for Prevue brand or anything like it. I had a horrible experience where my male canary got his leg caught between a small gap of a supposed canary cage, and he ended up having his leg amputated by the vet. (For those of you who think this is funny, what goes around comes around.) Thankfully, he is alive and well and was singing within the week. So, as you can imagine, I do not want this to happen to him again. I have taken precautions for that. That is why I am looking for a one piece set-up, like Hendryx use to make back in the day. (note: Prevue acquired Hendryx and trust me their cages are crap.) I have searched high and low, with no success. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated? Thank you.
