Rabbit Cage Size? If I decide to get rabbits from a woman who is selling her breeder and show rabbits I will be getting 3 of one of the following breeds. I will be building their cage. So I would like to know about how big is the minimum size for them LxWxH ? I want to base my measurements on the minimum and either make it wider or longer depending on the size. How do i care for a wild paralized rabbit? I found a rabbit in our front yard a week ago. It was bleeding from the mouth and could not use his back legs. I have finally got him to eat without being force fed a couple days ago. He is eating and drinking on his own. He is getting around better and actually doing well. How I move a full grown rabbit into her new cage? I have a full grown female rabbit that has out grown her old cage. I have a newer bigger cage that I want to move her into. size of rabbit cage? I have a rabbit that is 7 and 1/2 pounds right now and she is still growing. I bought her a new, bigger, cage about 2 months ago, and she already has outgrown it. (we were not aware of how big she would get because we don't know her breed) I want to either build her a big cage, or buy one, but I can't seem to find one that would be big enough. I know that for a rabbit you should have a cage 4 times it's size, but part of the problem is I don't know what breed she is, so I'm not sure how big she's going to get...altho if shes the breed I think she is, she will get 3-4lbs bigger. She also was abused before I got her so she has some neuological problems, and jumps differently than a normal rabbit, and she also spazzes out sometimes, so I'm afraid of her hurting herself if she doesn't have enough room to play and jump. I wish we could just let her run around the house and play with the cats all the time, but because of her neurological problems, if she's not in close range of her litter box she will have accidents. She is liter trained very well...she normally get's let out during the evening in our living room and she knows to go back to her litter box if she has to go.

New Rabbit Cage;Does she like it? I got my rabbit in novemeber, and i've kept her inside since of the cold weather in a smalll cage, so now that it is nice out, i want to move her into this HUGGEE two story cage with a built in hutch. How do i know she likes it? & How can i teach her to use the stairs to get from level to level when i put her in the new cage, she will stay in the stop i put her in and wont move, unless i put her on the top story then she runs into her hutch and doesnt come out. she looks happy, like her ears are up and when i put my face up to the cage she still licks my face like she did in the other cage.

Nic cube Rabbit Cages? I recently built a nic cube rabbit cage for my rabbit. It has a ground level and 2 platforms. The platforms are about 8-9 inches above the other (horizontal and vertical). I'm buying/building one of those two-floor cages, with a wire run on the bottom, and a ramp leading up to a nest box. How big does it need to be? I really enjoyed her and it wasn't a problem to take care of her, but we just never got another one when she died. I'm tallying everything that I'll need to start, because I'm planning on paying for the rabbit myself this time around. I never payed attention to prices with my old rabbit because my parent's payed for her. (We got her and the cage for free from my friend when she moved, but have given her the cage back so she could get another rabbit.) My dad and grandpa have volounteered to help me build a cage, and we have pretty much all the wood we need, so that is not an issue. How much on average do you spend on food per month? I would probably buy a huge bag from the local feed store, because it's much cheaper and of the same quality as name-brand feed at say PetsMart. How can I turn my cages into a rabbit hutch? I have two 30 x 36" rabbit cages, but I need a hutch. I read online that you just stack up concrete blocks and put plywood around the sides and on top, but that doesn't sound very stable. Any ideas? I also need to know how to build a nest box. Thanks

Any suggestions for building a larger rabbit cage? I have one cage that I have my rabbit, Isis, in but she's starting to outgrow it. Since I don't have a lot of extra money at the moment, I was hoping I could add on to it somehow but I'm not sure what the best or cheapest way to do this would be. I spent $50 dollars on the cage and would prefer to keep the cost of add-ons under $40 if possible. Yes, Isis must be kept in a cage because I am currently in a rental house that doesn't allow freely-roaming animals. indoor rabbit cage ideas desperately needed!? We have ourselves a bunny rabbit, one we took in as a tempory measure as the shelter was full, but as he came to us as a baby and lives indoor in a cage we kind of got used to him and decided to make him a permanent addition. Anyway he needs a bigger cage and we have decided against putting him outside so are going to build a custom built cage for himwith the intention of it being able to provide lots of different things for him to do. He is so super friendly will even roll over for a fuss!!! He cant come out of the cage too frequent as we have a rather large dog that would eat him for breakfast given the oppertunity so this new cage we intend to have a soil area, maybe a paved area good for his claws to pass over as well as growing trays of grass and things but what else could we include and does anyone else have a custom built 21st century rabbit cage with pictures for ideas? What environment is better for a rabbit? When we started with Rabbits, we were told by some experience Rabbit owners that it was best to have your rabbits in a cage in a building and not outside. In most books, the rabbits are housed outside, which is better for a rabbit, to be enclosed in the dark, or outside with fresh air and light. How/where can I build/buy a cheap exercise pen for a rabbit or dog? I'm going to foster a rabbit from the Humane Society and they will provide me with a cage, but I need some sort of exercise pen so I can give it some unsupervised exercise and not worry about it chewing on all of my furniture or cords. I want to potentially just use it as a gate and block it in the kitchen (the only place with no carpet) initially until I make sure it is litter box trained and then let it loose in part of the house. Basically, I want something that will stand by itself but I can also change the shape. I want to use it as a gate to block off part of the room and as a closed pen. Anyone have any suggestions? Since I’m just fostering the bunny, I don’t want to buy an expensive puppy pen but I also don’t want something the bunny will chew through or end up eating and causing harmful side effects (I worry about cheap plastic). Anyone have any ideas on what will be flexible and inexpensive? I’m also not sure how large the bunny will be, so I need something that is probably at least 24” or 36” high. I’m completely clueless as to what I can use aside from buying a semi-expensive puppy pen. Let me know if you have any ideas! The cheaper (and simpler) the better.

Would it be safe to spray bugspray outside and inside of a rabbit hutch or is it too risky? I have a 5 year old male lion-head rabbit. I am sad to admit I haven't been the best pet owner and I've been somewhat negligant, but I truly want to make up for it by making the last years he has comfortable and happy. I had another rabbit that I really only provided the basic needs for. He was a male dwarf rabbit and he lived in a nicely built hutch outside that my dad made. The problem is when he was out there (all months except for winter) it was DISGUSTING because there were hundreds upon hundreds of insects that lived in and outside of the cage, some of them layed eggs in there and lived inside the roof which had a little closed off area that is unreachable. I still have the hutch and I'm going to have to put my current bunny out there when spring comes around because he's in a dark room in a small cage and he obviously needs some sunlight. SO my question is what can I do to get rid of the insects. I should warn you all I'm terrified of all bugs whether they be ants, bees, spiders, or even flies, I can't stand going out there and seeing bugs all over my bunnies cage though, living in there with him ughh, any suggestions? And also what could I do to improve his life? Sorry I know it's a lot but I need some advice.

Plastic or Wood for my Rabbit? I am on a cheap bugget and I have to build a cage for my rabbit. But I have a promblem....what should I use for the bottom?......Plastic or Wood? Why did a stray husky take our rabbit out of its cage and kill it?!? Our neighbors knocked at our door to say they heard one of our rabbits crying and that a big dog had it. I have a big hutch just about built, this is the last night Baxter would have been in a conventional cage and he gets killed, so so sad! Our other rabbit is in a locked hutch already, I had them together under a tarp with a heat lamp. The large wire cage was on a plywood board, on top of a large metal bin with feed in it. I feel so bad, if only I had finished the hutch one day sooner! Why on earth would a stray dog come in my yard and kill our rabbit? We had just two. This second rabbit was from my daughter's science teacher... I've never seen the husky before, it has a collar but no tags. Animal control took it away...

Can I keep a rabbit in a cage of chicken wire? Well, my dad has a bunch of chicken wire (that's standard height, not yet cut) left over from his recent project of building a fence for a compost pile. Want to buy or build playpen for pet rabbit. Do you have any suggestions? So, we were thinking about building a playpen for our rabbit. We usually let it run in the bedroom on the hardwood floor when we get it out of it's cage (we don't know if it's a he or a she - we found it), but we'd like to build a playpen so it can spend more time out of the cage. I am imagining something that is 2.5 - 3 feet tall and about 4 feet across (or 5 feet). It would be awesome if the things was collapsable! It doesn't have to have a bottom because of the hardwood floor. The bunny would be let out to play in it several times a day. My hubby is home with the bunny and could put it in the playpen to get some exercise 2 or 3 times per day. I just don't want the pen to tip over or the bunny to get out of it (the bunny enjoys chewing wires). The bunny's name is Carmella, so let's just say it's a female. :) We've had her for a few months now and she is thriving. I really enjoy her (she ran into our back yard and we caught her. She was emaciated and lost.... MORE->) MORE-> We took her in. I had a large cage - we have lots of animals. I got her rabbit food, timothy hay and fresh greens. She likes collard greens best, but an occasional sprig of basil meets with her approval too! She drinks lots of water and gets her water bowl filled twice daily. She likes to play and uses her litterbox like a good girl. :) We put up signs and advertised throughout our small town to see if anyone claimed her, but no one did. The lady at our pet store said that people let rabbits go all the time when they get tired of them. They think the rabbits can survive out in the wild, but actually, domesticated rabbits are no longer wild animals and cannot usually survive in the wild. :( So I am glad we found our bunny. Rabbit indoor cage condo question? Please look? i all I am about to start building an NIC condo for a foster bunny and I have a question for all of you have one. Do you put the cubes on the bottom of the condo as well and then just cover them with something or do you buid up from a seperate base. I just got a new rabbit but she seems so scared of me, what should i do? I recently purchased a rabbit. She is free to run around my room until her cage is finished, my dad is building it. I have done everything that people have told me to do, to get her to trust me. Like i tried to give her treats but when i try 2 give them to her she gets mad and runs. Then if i try to pet her she acts terrified and runs and hides under my bed. I even layed on the floor and let her sniff me then as soon as i move she runs. Shes so cute and i just want her to trust me. What should i do?

My rabbit has lost fur around her chin? I was cleaning my rabbits cage today when I noticed she has a spot under her chin with no hair! It is right in between her "chin" and her dewlop thing. There is one spot where it looks like the fur is regrowing because it is very short and one spot where it is just bald. She is a Nertherland Dwarf named Lucky, she is 4 years old. There is no way she is pregnant so nest building is not an option. I am probably going to go see the vet if I can't figure anything out. PLEASE help me!!! Both of my rabbits are shedding, I just read that bald spots during shedding season are normal is this true? They are seperated because they do not get along.

Any idea how I can build a homemade guinea pig cage? I have about 28" with length and 18" wide and the height is unlimited so I could probably build or 3 floors to make it bigger.
