Best syrian hamster cage?!? I am really leaning toward the idea of a aquarium with a tank topper. There is lots of room for toys, and burrowing around. Its safe, wont break, and it's easy to clean. Plus, with the proper equipment, it can have good ventilation. Before I decide to spend any money on this, I want your opinion on the best cage for a syrian hamster. I tend to shy away from tubes, especially for syrians. Tubes are hard to clean, have poor ventilation, which can cause respitory problems. If I was getting a dwarf hamster, I might get a cage with tubes, but im getting a syrian, so tubes are out of the question. Also, hamsters might feel the need to bite on the cage bars, even if I provide chew toys. If that happens, my mom will make me return them. So what do you think? Direct links will be appreciated. How do I get the dog to stop barking at the hamster cage all day? I have a hamster and frequently dog sit for family. A yorkie I watch a lot is freaked out by the hasmter cage, even when the hamster is sleeping in the enclosed house the dog continues to bark/whine at the cage.

Recently got two dwarf hamsters, brothers raised together from birth who get along fine. But their cage is stinky, even though I just cleaned it two days ago. What do people think to the jack 72 hamster cage? I am looking for a new hamster cage as my hamster looks really bored, he has lots of toys but just doesnt seem interested he is really stubborn. Why are there little flies around my hamster cage? I have little flies the size of a pin head flying around my hamster cage. How do I go about building a homemade hamster cage with a tiny budget? Right now, my hamster has a cage which is big, but I think she would like a little more room to run around in, and I'm in need of a weekend project! I'm only 13, but my dad can cut plywood and stuff. I only have a budget of about $20, so it needs to be something that's not that expensive. It needs to be cleanable, rather large (I'm thinking a 3 foot by 3 foot cage) and something that won't fall apart. We don't have any wire, but if you know of somewhere I could get ahold of some wire for my cage for cheap, that would be great. It also needs to be somewhat sturdy, so it can hold a wheel and possibly a food/water accessory. And make sure the instructions are easy to follow, I'm not the brightest egg in the dozen. Thanks! It also needs to be pretty safe so that she won't escape, we might keep her in the basement with that large of a cage, and there's rat poison in our basement.
