Where can I get an Antique vintage bird cage from which you can keep a small bird in? Not too expensive.? I want to get a Antique bird cage which I can keep a bird in. I have looked around and can only find ones which you put plants in. I would prefer it to be white but could also be black. And not too expensive. :) In the UK. :) I might not be definitely putting a bird in it, I would like one for my room and would also like a bird but if the cage isn't big enough for a bird then I wouldn't put one in it because it would be cruel. Resovled- Bought one from TK Maxx :)

I would like to know what kind of paint would be safe for a bird cage? I have a lovely antique bird cage that I want to restore for my canaries and would like to know if their are any types of paint that are safe?
what to put in a victorian bird cage (besides birds)? you see, i love the antique victorian bird cages, especially the brass ones and im thinking about using them for decorating. they are relatively easy to find at antique stores, but im at a loss as to what to put in them. i find birds annoying, for they are constantly going on and making noise. ive seen candles and flowers put in them before, and im just wondering what else? pictures would be great, as well. thanks to all.
what is a small bird that makes a good pet? preferably on the quieter side? can u add pics too? i bought an antique bird cage and am thinking of getting a new pet but it has to be small and not too noisy .
What is the proper way to restore a bird cage? I found a very nice and unique bird cage but it seems the previous owner did a crappy job of painting it. It looks as though they hand painted it over chipping and peeling paint. It is an older looking semi-circle cage thats about 4' high, and seems to be delicate, like an antique. What steps should I take to properly restore this cage, and make it safe for smaller birds (ie keets, budgies, canaries)? Is paint thinner ok to use? And why do people always suggest using powder coat? Thanks
given bird cage, thought it was wrought iron, removed rust, silver in color, can i test for what metal it is? I think it is an antique parrot cage, trying to restore, want to use the correct products but dont know how to tell what kind of metal it is
I'm re-decorating my room & trying to go for an urban/vintage look. What are some good stores & websites? I really like Urban Outfitters stuff. I have like a huge white antique bird cage & my walls are yellow, and i'm trying to stay within yellow, shades of reds and blue. Any ideas? Thanks so much :)

Here's my cage, http://www.birdcages.com/small-bird-cages/with-playtop/threeperchplaytopbirdcagewithoptionalstand.cfm And, I'm MackenzieRussell, I'm already I member but I have two accounts.

Wanting to decorate my room (kind of vintage style)? i love shopping at thrift/antique stores but i dont want to spend too much money. also i want to buy stuff that can go in my room at home and also in my dorm room at college. thoughts on how to decorate it. i also want to simpify the big stuff in my room and have cute little stuff. one of my ideas was to take an antique bird cage and string christmas lights through it. and then take an old window frame with glass in it and put a picture of landscape in the inside of it and put it on my wall so it looks like its looking outside even though my room is n the basement and i only have a small window. and i take lots of pictures and i would like to showcase those too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/32503876@N04/
I live in an Apartment and i have framed art i want to display but...? i want to display my framed art but i dont want to continue to hammer nails and hang them on the wall. I would like to have them on a sorta metal rod that goes from the floor to where the pictures go. Kinda like on an eisle or sorta how an antique bird cage sits... does anyone have any suggestions on if they sell such a contraption or a proper material to make it? for example http://farm1.static.flickr.com/30/100134098_440b3e4c30.jpg?v=0 http://www.craphound.com/images/hanger1.jpg not curved just something loft like... any suggestions?
Lutino Cockatiel (Tiel or Bird) Question? Please give me all the links and information you know about Lutinos, because I'm getting one from a professional, not back-yard breeder, this upcoming May 18, or May 25. It will be six or seven weeks old. I've already found a cage, here's a link, and it will be Antique Silver, http://www.birdcages.com/small-bird-cages/with-playtop/threeperchplaytopbirdcagewithoptionalstand.cfm So please help! I did my research on Cockatiels, but they don't have a lot on Lutino cockatiels. Easy ten points!

I want an idea of what to paint on my sister's walls? My sister's going away next weekend and I want to fix up her room while she's gone. http://www.kiss925.com/files/2009/11/pink-colour.png Her room is this color with antique white doors and window frames. She already has a bird cage (http://www.bob.net.au/zencart/images/bob%20images/FB%20birdcage.jpg) painted on her wardrobe in black. I know she likes the look of black picture frames, but without the pictures so I'm going to paint some of those on, Different kinds of frame, along the one wall. There's one wall that has nothing on it though. It has the door in the middle, and I was thinking of painting something above the door, but I don't know what. I was thinking 3 little owls sitting above the door, but she's not a big bird fan and I think that would be giving too much of a bird theme to the room. Any ideas as to what to paint above that door? It's only about 20cm until the ceiling, but it looks like it needs something there. She's only 16, so the more dramatic, the better.
This is a slightly selfish question, but could someone good at interpreting dreams interpret this one for me? I'm usually able to analyze and interpret dreams of mine on my own. In the case of this dream, though, I'm suddenly jumping to the conclusion that it deals with something very very good. I dislike having lovers' obsessions get in the way of my interpretations. Thus, will someone please take this seriously, be respectfull, and interpret this for me? For a few nights in a row I've had this dream about being in a mansion. It would start out with me planning out a day at the hair dresser to dye my hair a hot red and cliping it. I'd realize I was late, though time was never truly prominent in the dream. I only worried about time, but it did not mean i was actually late for the event of cutting my hair. The next thing I'd know, I'd be entering this mansion. Suddenly I'd be in a grocery store wondering what to buy. Some strangers suggest candy, and especially ice cream. Ice cream was a very strong and powerfull word and it lingered on even after my dream (which I admit is a tad bit odd). Eventually I grabbed a small thing of yogurt instead, and decided to leave the market. As I head for the grey carpeted stairs, a worker snatches the yogurt out of my hands, but I dont care. I walk on towards the stairs, ignoring the elevator (apparently I believed that it would not function). Walking down the stairs I reach the lonely hallway of the mansion. I walked down the corridor, which had a warm, lingering feel to it. And I walked on until I reached a small entranceway that led to a kitchen-like room. But the entranceway was too small, and I could not fit through. I knelt down and looked through and saw antique-like chair and tables, and a small, square-ish black bird cage. The room had a warm feel to it--there was definetly chestnut brown walls and red cloth about the room and a candle was lit. But I couldn't get it. I went further down the corridor and found another room, but this was brightly coulored with yellow and white and pink. It looked like a hotel bathroom of some sort. But after that, there was nothing. Thus ends my story. Now, what do people interpret of this dream? The problem with the ice cream is that it could mean I'm successfull with love. And if I go there and take that into consideration, I'll go too too far and over emphasize on something that might not be true.
Do you like my bedroom ? :)? I'm going to have a dark gray accent wall. The rest are white. Than I'm going to have kind a meduim brown, sort of redish not really, antique dresser, a hamper like made out of twigs that match it, and than a bird cage to hold my books the same colour. Than I'm gonna have a white desk, with a white chair and a white bookshelf to match the walls. The bedspread is gonna be this: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/60124229 and I'm going to have colourful pillows like a mustey orange and yellow and grayish purple etc. Then I'm going to have picture against the gray walls, like flowers, the eifelle tower, a lake etc in colourufl frames. I'm gonna have a vase full of colourful fake flowers, with gold leaves inside it. I'm gonna have a white chinese lantern against the gray wall and a white budha on the dresser. What do you think? I'm a 14 year old girl btw. :)
i'm looking for a name to this lamp/lighting fixture? i work in a really nice Assisted Living, Health and Rehab, and General Apartment Housing, that is provided for senior citizens or retired people who cant keep up their usual lifestyle at home. Love the people there. So yesterday i was going past a resident room, as they freely keep their doors open sometimes, and i saw this beautiful lamp. i didnt have time to stop and chat with the nice lady to get more info, but i have this mental picture that i hope you can help me figure out. this light was small enough to fit on a nice end table. it reminds me of a bird cage but not as many bars, im thinking there was at least 4 to 5 wooden "bars". this thing looked like it was made out of solid wood (from a very nice tree :-P) I'd say about 2 feet if not a lil more high. and inside the lights were hanging, like spiders do. no glass panels, so you can touch the lights. here's a drawing i made to maybe help with a visual since i didnt take a picture with my phone! >_< its pretty bad but i think it might help http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y95/Baby_260/151.jpg?t=1245913921 i want one of these lamps so bad! i think it may be an antique...but then i havent been on this earth that long! only 21... so ANYTHING will help, thank you so much!
Anyone know of a website that offers designs like Heavytees.com? I really like the designs from heavytees, but especially their old t-shirts with design names like "jesus Juice", "Antique Reggae" "I am No One (or something like that...has a bird in a cage)". Does anyone know of a different website that has nice, antique-y, artistic designs or a place that has their old designs?

Are my parakeets sick? We have two parakeets at my house who we have owned for several years. When we first got them, we always kept them in a cage, although we changed what cage it was from time to time. About two months ago, my parents started letting them out to fly around, which they have thoroughly enjoyed. However, about ten days ago, my mom brought home a new wooden cage from an antique shop and put the two birds in it. When we left the door open they couldn't/wouldn't fly out at all. So my dad put them back in the old cage. It's been over a week and they have yet to come out of the cage and fly around. I was getting worried about it, so I took one out and set him on top of the cage and tried to scare him with my hand (which usually makes him take off flying) and he ended up jumping off the cage and ungracefully soaring to the ground. He couldn't fly, I don't think he could if he wanted to. What is wrong and how can we fix it?
Experienced Parrot Owner Harrassed By Animal Control - Your Opinions Please? Hi Everyone! Please give me your input and I will choose the best answer at the end of this week. Here's my dilemna: I have had parrots all my life - from tiny parakeets to conjures to a macaw. The macaw was housed in a beautiful lage parrot cage and he was originally my grandmothers. He lived to the ripe old age of 84 years and it was a sad day when he finally died one afternoon in his sleep. Recently, I moved to a condominium and dispersed the conjures to loving relatives because one conjure liked to whistle loudly and the other had the mischevious habit of saying "Smack my bitch up!" whenever people came to visit. My only birds now are two pairs of parakeets. These are American parakeets. They live in my livingroom in a deluxe cockatoo cage. The cage is 4 feet wide on each side and 5 feet high. At the top is a round dome, so the actual height is 7 feet. Because it is an antique, the bars are very close together, making it ideal for parakeets. I have made a little ladder, which criss-crosses up the back of the cage because both males love to play on it and they spend many happy hours entertaining each other. There are 2 swings in the cage - parakeet size, which a local metal shop made. The swings have wooden perches, which I cover with Hagen sandpaper. There are 2 nesting boxes, which are handcarved from birch. There is also a little bell, which one of the females faithfully rings each day about noon. The birds have 2 water dishes, which are changed daily, and 2 feed dishes for their seeds. They are not too fond of cooked crushed vegetables or fruit, but I deliver them some several times a week, hoping they will expand their menu. There are 2 cuttlefish bones for then to gnaw on and a couple apple sticks, which they seem to love. The birds are healthy and happy. Occassionally, I take my docile male, who is fully trained, out of the cage to play with and he loves to sit on my shoulder. The other three prefer the cage and they only get out when I examine them twice a week. They have plenty of toys in the cage. Yesterday, a new neighbor came to visit with her brother. After serving them refreshments, we retired to the livingroom to chat. The brother seemed very interested in the birds and appeared to enjoy having the male parakeet do his usual antics of laying upside down on the coffee table and having his tummy rubbed. All the parakeets have a partial wing clip, which still allows them to fly, but it does limit their ability to take off suddenly and also limits the speed at which they attain altitude. This is a safety measure because the condo has large picture windows. Since I only clip 3 primary feathers, most people don't realize they have been clipped at all. I do not clip baby birds until they are fully mature and have mastered the art of flying. But right now, I have no babies. This morning, I received a summons from Animal Control, complaining that my cage is inadequate. It cites: POOR BOTTOM COVERING (I use newspaper and cover it with a mat, which is replaced every 2 days with clean newspaper and a freshly washed mat), CROWDED CONDITIONS FOR 4 ADULT PARAKEETS, FOOD SPARSE, INADEQUATE LIGHTING. CHARGE: ANIMAL CRUELTY I was dumbfounded. The cage is in the corner next to the picture window and the sun streams every morning from sunrise until about noon, which it no longer comes through the window. There is PLENTY of bird food, including fresh millet sprays, which are replaced when the birds have eaten most of the seeds. I feed "Prestige Parakeet Fruit Seed Blend", which is a premium parakeet mix with seeds and dried fruit. As stated before, my birds do not seem to like other food, but I offer them a bowl of homemade cooked crushed vegetables a few times a week. In my opinon, as an experienced parrot owner, the cage is HUGE for 4 parakeets. It is airy, clean, and the birds love it. I called the Sheriff Department and found out that my neighbor's brother - the one who came to visit - is an Animal Control Officer. Why would he issue me a summons for arrest and claim "Animal Cruelty"? Is he crazy? I have thought about taking a photograph to the Prosecuting Attorney with an affidavit from my avian veterinarian, but now I'm wondering if I should simply turn this over to a lawyer and sue this jerk for harrassment. Seeing that his sister is my new neighbor, what is your advice? I hate to be on bad terms with a new neighbor, but obviously her brother doesn't care about good relations. Do you think he is trying to put me in jail so he can buy my condo? He did mention a few times in the conversation that he would like to move here, but there is nothing for sale in this building right now. Animal Cruelty in the state where I live is punishable by a $1500 fine and 90 days in jail. All answers are welcome, so please tell me what you think. A troll? As if I don't have enough stress right now without an attack on Yahoo Answers! First of all, the court summons is signed by the assistant prosecutor and attached is the animal control complaint, signed by the officer. That is how I know who the officer is. The reason I called the Sheriff's Department was to confirm that the complaint was actually addressed to ME and not a mistake. They also had no problem confirming the identity of the officer. Secondly, there is nothing unsual about birds having routine habits. It's common for parrots to call out in the morning at sunrise and again at sunset to announce when they change their roosts. I think it's funny that my female parakeet decides to ring the bell at the first sign of shadows when the sunshine no longer comes through the window - at least, I presume that's why she does it. The bird cage is not in direct sunlight - only part of it gets the sun. The cage is in the corner of the room NEXT TO the picture window, not in right in front of it. Thank you for all your answers. The troll thing made me angry at first, but now I'm laughing. I'll be sure to let you all know how this turns out. In the meantime, keep more answers coming!!!
I need help finding a large birdcage? I know it's a weird request, but I am a film student and I am making a short film about a sad teenage girl who was captured by a lonely old man in a mansion. The old man keeps her in a birdcage in his living room! Poor girl! Anyway, the birdcage I need is for her! The kind of cage I am looking for needs to be round, with gold bars spaced a few inches apart, but thick enough for her to grab onto. I don't want a massive cage. in fact, I want her to barely have enough room to stand in it...possibly 6 foot high on the inside, and about 3 foot wide on the inside. I also want a swinging perch inside for her to sit on. Anyway, I checked with multiple cage suppliers, but the only large cages they have are square, plain, and have thin, skinny wires as bars! They are meant for cockatoos and macaws and bigger birds. The one i'm looking for should "resemble" a small canary or parakeet cage, or a decorative antique birdcage, but be large enough to fit a girl inside. Does anyone know a good place to look? Please let me know if you think of anything.

What website sells BEAUTIFUL circular bird cages, like the antique kind but SAFE for birds? please help!? not too small but not too expensive (no more than 100$) its going to be for a budgie (parakeet)
