Bird Cage Veils Knowledge Base

I'm looking all over for the netting that Bird cage veils are made out of but can't find any. ideas? I want some ivory netting but not the kind you find in Jo-Anne fabric, Hancocks, etc. I want the stuff that's got larger net. More like is on an old fashioned hat. I think it's usually called French or Rusian veiling. Does any one have any ideas about where to find some?
bird cage veil question? do you have to wear a vintage wedding dress to wear a bird cage veil? at first i really didn't like bird cage veils but now after looking at them so much i am starting to love them. I would like to wear one with my wedding dress. i am wearing a strapless A-line in white. I dont want to wear your typical wedding veil 1 because i have been married before and 2 my fiance and I are not have a "Traditional" wedding. i am actually thinking about wearing a baby blue(our wedding color) bird cage. and perhaps a white rose???? what do you think of this idea?? here is a dress that is very similar to my dress www.bridalweddinggowns.ca and here is a pic of the birdcage www.overthetopfascinators.com
will an bird cage veil go with a simple empire waist dress? My dress empire waist dress made from white chiffon. It has pearl coloured beads under the bodice and a simple sash under that. I have recently started to like bird cage veils and I found one that I really like. It has a flower with white feathers and pearls inside it as the centerpeice. I am just wandering if my simple dress could pull it off. I am also wearing my nannas pears which I think should match the veil perfectly. But are bird cage veils best suited for more elaborate old fashioned dresses? or do they work well to glam up an otherwise plain dress? Im not sure if this link will work but here is the site inwhich I found the veil. It has already been purchased but Im sure I could contact the seller and have another made. Can i use a large bird cage as housing for my Veiled Chamelon? I was wondering if i could use a large square bird cage in replace of a regular chameleon screen cage. The extra large chameleon cages are so expensive and I don't see any problem with using a large bird cage instead. Is there any reason why i shouldn't use a bird cage for my chameleon?

I really like bird cage veils there very chic and cute. so was thinking of wearing one for my wedding because me me liking them an because i am in my mid 30's and getting married for the third time. but my fiance and both our moms dont like the look of them they say there look dumb. what do i do.....just do what i want and not listen to them? do i listen and just go with another veil.......but i though you weren't suppose to wear a veil..or tiara for that matter if your a third time bride...it might even look silly since i am a 3rd time bride. or just dont wear a veil at all and just a fascinate..or flowers in my hair?
What type of veil will go with my wedding dress? I really love bird cage veils but I can't decide which type of veil will look best with my dress. I would love some opinions! Here's the dress: http://casablancabridal.com/collections/view/7/143
Birdcage veils? In considering wearing a bird cage veil. I'm getting married on the beach, so a long veil would not be practical. I also wanted something different with a splash of retro: http://www.birdcageveils.com/ Have you ever been to a wedding and have seen one of these or did you wear one yourself? How was your experience? Thank you The one that I want to wear is this one: http://www.birdcageveils.com/photo_gallery_birdcage_veil_monika.htm I'm wearing my hair down... I'm unsure if it would look good that way. : )
What style of wedding is this? So I can't think of the name of this style of wedding. It's where the decorations and stuff are things like old jars, buttons, old print, hanging papers, bird cage veils... Anyone have any ideas, I know what it is I just can't think of it. Yes that is it! Thank you so much! I just couldn't think of the word.
What do you think of this wedding dress? http://www.kleinfeldbridal.com/administration/pics/items/large/Augusta-Jones-12649-large.jpg Ignore that "Bobbi" thing in the corner- I don't know how that got there. Furthermore, what kind of veil should I wear? I've always been used to wearing a traditional-looking lace veil, but one of my friends suggested I wear it with a bird cage veil.
An alternative wedding first dance song to Etta James "At Last"? We are having a vintage themed wedding. 1960s sort of themed. I'm wearing a bird cage veil and the guys in sleek grey suits like you see from that era. We wanted to dance to Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable", but have found the song a little too slow. We love Etta James' "At Last", but our friends just used this as their first dance, and we feel it is over played. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Birdcage veil? Where can i find material to make one? I'd love to make my own bird cage veil but dont know where i can find the material to make it. They use a different kind of tulle or netting. I found some on ebay but would prefer solid white. Does anyone know where i can find the material to make it? http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://bp1.blogger.com/_3-NhrEYv8dA/RlotWmqPdEI/AAAAAAAAAJw/lUpHeqtlEwI/s320/visor-veil.jpg&imgrefurl=http://dahlias-day.blogspot.com/2007/05/wedding-veils.html&start=1&h=320&w=219&sz=15&tbnid=H1Agpdz5Gob4iM:&tbnh=118&tbnw=81&hl=en&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dvisor%2Bveil%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den%26sa%3DG&um=1

Wedding dress and veil question? I like the looks of a bird cage veil because i like different but would it look okay with this dress http://davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2835&prodgroup=127 and this is the veil http://www.birdcageveils.com/photo_gallery_birdcage_veil_leigha.htm But without the feathers
Is combining wedding themes a bad idea? I've thought about becoming a wedding planner and was just looking at ideas and dreaming about my own wedding. I thought through some ideas I wanted and was just wondering if combining themes is tacky? My main ideas were a old fashioned movie theater theme, a old fashioned black and white french theme, or a more modern creative/unique fun theme. I really just want ideas or opinions. I really like the old black and white movies and old fashion things like bird cage veils and stuff, I also love new things like neon chuck taylors and was thinking of a empire waist comfortable dress. I also liked the idea of different center pieces like lemons and limes. I defiantly wanted to incorporate cute kid stuff like XXs and OOs or pick up jacks and marbles for decor. Anyway just ideas and things I liked, feel free to comment I would love to hear ideas and stuff, thanks!
Does this veil go with this dress? Im getting married in September and the theme of the wedding is birds. I would love to wear a bird cage veil with my wedding dress. My mother thinks that if I were to wear that veil I would need to have a shorter dress. But I disagree. She thinks I should wear a finger tip veil. What do you think? This is my dress: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3346 And this is the veil i want to wear: http://www.etsy.com/listing/46721224/jane-birdcage-veil-ships-in-10-12-days
Will this veil go with my dress? The veil is a bird cage veil with a feathery flower center peice with pearls in the center. I am wearing my nannas pearl necklace so it matches my jewlery perfectly. Here is the veil http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=318731964 My dress is a chiffon strapless empire waist dress. The bodice is gathered and underneth is a beaded design (the beads are similiar to pearls). It is a simple but elegant dress and we are having an outdoor wedding. I know the veil is a little elaborate but the dress is quite plain so I think they might work well together. The veil will be that little something I need to look a little different and edgy. But then I wander if this type of veil should only be worn with a vintage dress. What are your opinions? If you just want to tell me you do not like it please do not bother. Just helpful advice needed
Did I get ripped off with my veil? I recently brought a bird cage veil. I brought it online for 40 dollars and it arrived today. I noticed that the mesh has no seam. It looks like it has just been measured and cut and thats it. I dont know if thats normal or not because i have seen pictures on line where they have a nice seam, mine has a very home made look Also it puffs out in every direction. Particularly above the head. It does not look like it did on the model in the pictures. I just can not get it to sit right. It also seems too long, I thought it would only half cover my face but it comes right down to my chin. Did I get ripped off or am I just a little clueless about how to put it on?
Band on a recent late night show? HELP!? There was a band that was on one of the late shows a few weeks ago that played a song about running into and ex-girlfriend at a party and being overwhelmed and having to run outside. I cannot remember which show or what the name of the band is but it was an awesome song. There were many people in the band, and the girl had on a black hat with a bird cage veil. It's driving me CRAZY.... can anyone help?

Art deco wedding dress? We are doing an Art deco themed wedding, complete with a bird cage veil for me, but I can't find a dress!! Most I find are for the girls that are a size 2 and you need to have your hip bones sticking out in order to wear it (think lots of straight satin) Im a normal size 10 with curves and am having difficuly finding an art deco like dress. Does anyone know of any design's and/or designers that have an art deco like dress?? Deanri- already have looked into that, am hoping not to have to go that route! Without-nope, think more Rita Hayworth/Heddy Lamarr, not flapper. =Actually the "Art Deco" period encompases the 20's to the 40's, pre-war. The actresses I mentioned are 40's screen stars but can very much be defined as "Art Deco" actresses.
Where can I find retro or vintage peep toe shoes for my wedding? Hi, I am having a 1940's inspired retro wedding next year. My dress is actually from the 1940's and I plan to wear a bird cage veil. Now I am in search of shoes to go with. The problem is I have a foot/ankle problem and cannot wear shoes with a heel greater than 1". It would also be great if the shoe had an ankle strap. It has been difficult to find white retro shoes without a heel. I live in Portland, Oregon. Any website suggestions or local Portland places would be awesome. Thanks ahead of time! I loved Mod Cloth, thank you for that suggestion. They actually had a great show but it only came in yellow...
What do you think of this dress? I'm getting married in January and doing Old Hollywood style wedding. My fave dresses for this style have all been long, lacy, and mermaid or sheath style. I'm definitely not a princess gown type person. Then i found this dress on Justin Alexander and I LOVE it! Do you think it would still match the theme and my bird cage veil? http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l236/TonyaAnnMiller/justinalexander8404.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l236/TonyaAnnMiller/justinalexander8404back.jpg
What Is your favorite poem? Mine is: Lovers, forget your love, And list to the love of these, She a window flower, And he a winter breeze. When the frosty window veil Was melted down at noon, And the caged yellow bird Hung over her in tune, He marked her though the pane, He could not help but mark, And only passed her by To come again at dark. He was a winter wind, Concerned with ice and snow, Dead weeds and unmated birds, And little of love could know. But he signed upon the sill, He gave the sash a shake, As witness all within Who lay that night awake. Perchange he half prevailed To win her for the flight From the firelight looking-glass And warm stove-window light. But the flower leaned aside And thought of naught to say, And morning found the breeze A hundred miles away.

THANK YOU! I went to the Garden of Love, And saw what I never had seen; A Chapel was built in the midst, Where I used to play on the green. And the gates of this Chapel were shut And "Thou shalt not," writ over the door; So I turned to the Garden of Love That so many sweet flowers bore. And I saw it was filled with graves, And tombstones where flowers should be; And priests in black gowns were walking their rounds, And binding with briars my joys and desires.
Algazel the 1058 a.d. Arab philosopher wrote this poem.Whats your view on it? "Say to my friends, when they look upon me, dead Weeping for me and mourning me in sorrow Do not believe that this corpse you see is myself In the name of God, I tell you, it is not I, I am a spirit, and this is naught but flesh It was my abode and my garment for a time. I am a treasure, by a talisman kept hid, Fashioned of dust, which served me as a shrine, I am a pearl, which has left it's shell deserted, I am a bird, and this body was my cage Whence I have now floron forth and it is left as a token Praise to God, who hath now set me free And prepared for me my place in the highest of the heaven, Until today I was dead, though alive in your midst. Now I live in truth, with the grave - clothes discarded. Today I hold converse with the saints above, With no veil between, I see God face to face. I look upon "Loh-i-Mahfuz" and there in I read Whatever was and is and all that is to be. Let my house fall in ruins, lay my cage in the ground, Cast away the talisman, it is a token, no more Lay aside my cloak, it was but my outer garment. Place them all in the grave, let them be forgotten, I have passed on my way and you are left behind Your place of abode was no deweling place for me. Think not that death is death, nay, it is life, A life that surpasses all we could dream of here, While in this world, here we are granted sleep, Death is but sleep, sleep that shall be prolonged Be not frightened when death draweth night, It is but the departure for this blessed home Think of the mercy and love of your Lord, Give thanks for His Grace and come without fear. What I am now, even so shall you be For I know that you are even as I am The souls of all men come forth from God The bodies of all are compounded alike Good and evil, alike it was ours I give you now a message of good cheer May God's peace and joy for evermore be yours." I would prefer a comment from the spiritual angle and not from a poetic viewpoint
Do you know what were last words of Imam Ghazali (ra)? Meh deleted the question, people mailed me to put this on up again : These were the lovely last words of Imam Ghazali (ra), a great man. May allah (swt) bless his grave. Imam Ghazali woke up one early morning and as usual offered his prayers and then enquired what day it was, his younger brother, Ahmad Ghazali replied,"Monday." He asked him to bring his white shroud, kissed it, stretched himself full length and saying "Lord, I obey willingly," breathed his last. And underneath his head rest they found the following verses; composed by him, probably, during the night. "Say to my friends, when they look upon me, dead Weeping for me and mourning me in sorrow Do not believe that this corpse you see is myself In the name of God, I tell you, it is not I, I am a spirit, and this is naught but flesh It was my abode and my garment for a time. I found a video aswell if you dont bother reading : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MBhVoTmTGU Such pious were those people, may allah (swt) make us like them. What are your views?

what do you think of my first attempt at a short story? Def. is not done. I have a lot more to write and their will be conversation and stuff. This is just like an opening scene. I'm only fifteen and have tons of years to work at my writing. heh. Anyways ______ Tumbling out of bed with her ribbons in her birds nest hair and strawberry lipstick smudged from cheek to breast. Sunlight poured through the cotton veil that dressed her windows. Factories and apartments hidden behind goodwill interior. Coffee and cigarette hung in the air. Snooze was on the couch in an open kimono tap, tap, tapping his foot against the wood tiling and snapping his fingers to the spinning record. Booming drums and smooth saxophones spewing from the speakers. Her eyes rang up from his cherry feet to his bonsai cut like an elevator machine. Their eyes met and that smile escaped its cage. Something had to be done and like wild animals in a social life city at dawn they tore at each other. Pouncing and ripping their second coat off. Paint exploring the walls with each button undone. Stars falling from the ceiling and confetti shooting out of every pore. Nirvana held the two children to her breast and they danced in their amphetamine ecstasy. sorry about spelling errors*

Can you find ANYTHING good out of this rubbish poem i wrote? Okay, so I was in a hurry when I first stared writing this and that is why it is, well, rubbishy.. Thoughts It has absolutely no point to it, no topic, just the stuff I was thinking about at the time,. so umm... yuss.. Not interlocked, but passing through his locks, Thickened falls of loose hanging hair, gripping onto his scalp. Muscles alive, tensed beneath his flesh of rocks, His face a mosaic of sun kissed stone, stone devout. His eyes burst through gaping sockets, Both pricked with tenebrous vision of black. His face was caged in a woman's locket, Is he crazed? She parts the metal a crack. But I am comforted with my far away thoughts, I delight that somewhere, far from this grey, gravel road- A wolf is howling, a bird is flying- And curling past my neck, the wind is sighing. The sun is not sweet, the sun is no longer dripping honey- It has journeyed far away, veiled by the coolness of thinning clouds. The sun is but fire, diluted in the mist. Atop of this hill it is not sunny! Not sunny, no! For I... for she is cloaked in the opaque silk, her life shroud. Even when the day is dull, and my eyes turn to grey, The air is bland, the sun is dim, the wind is weak- But I am comforted with my far away thoughts, for miles away, The flowers do sway. And the waxing moon, the dripping moon, hardens on the snow, And the Tricky Lady of the north, is woven through the blinking stars, Cloaking the night in colour, casting every soul aglow.
What is the meaning of Tagore's "The Gardener" (8,16,28)? What are the meanings of each of those 3 poems by R.Tagore? 8 When the lamp went out by my bed I woke up with the early birds. I sat at my open window with a fresh wreath on my loose hair. The young traveller came along the road in the rosy mist of the morning. A pearl chain was on his neck, and the sun's rays fell on his crown. He stopped before my door and asked me with an eager cry, "Where is she?" For very shame I could not say, "She is I, young traveller, she is I." It was dusk and the lamp was not lit. I was listlessly braiding my hair. The young traveller came on his chariot in the glow of the setting sun. His horses were foaming at the mouth, and there was dust on his garment. He alighted at my door and asked in a tired voice, "Where is she?" For very shame I could not say, "She is I, weary traveller, she is I." It is an April night. The lamp is burning in my room. The breeze of the south comes gently. The noisy parrot sleeps in its cage. My bodice is of the colour of the peacock's throat, and my mantle is green as young grass. I sit upon the floor at the window watching the deserted street. Through the dark night I keep humming, "She is I, despairing traveller, she is I." 16 Hands cling to hands and eyes linger on eyes: thus begins the record of our hearts. It is the moonlit night of March; the sweet smell of henna is in the air; my flute lies on the earth neglected and your garland of flowers in unfinished. This love between you and me is simple as a song. Your veil of the saffron colour makes my eyes drunk. The jasmine wreath that you wove me thrills to my heart like praise. It is a game of giving and withholding, revealing and screening again; some smiles and some little shyness, and some sweet useless struggles. This love between you and me is simple as a song. No mystery beyond the present; no striving for the impossible; no shadow behind the charm; no groping in the depth of the dark. This love between you and me is simple as a song. We do not stray out of all words into the ever silent; we do not raise our hands to the void for things beyond hope. It is enough what we give and we get. We have not crushed the joy to the utmost to wring from it the wine of pain. This love between you and me is simple as a song. 28 Your questioning eyes are sad. They seek to know my meaning as the moon would fathom the sea. I have bared my life before your eyes from end to end, with nothing hidden or held back. That is why you know me not. If it were only a gem I could break it into a hundred pieces and string them into a chain to put on your neck. If it were only a flower, round and small and sweet, I could pluck it from its stem to set it in your hair. But it is a heart, my beloved. Where are its shores and its bottom? You know not the limits of this kingdom, still you are its queen. If it were only a moment of pleasure it would flower in an easy smile, and you could see it and read it in a moment. If it were merely a pain it would melt in limpid tears, reflecting its inmost secret without a word. But it is love, my beloved. Its pleasure and pain are boundless, and endless its wants and wealth. It is as near to you as your life, but you can never wholly know it.
Birthday present ideas for a 13 year old? I'm turning 13 on aug. 23, and yesturday my mom asked me what i wanted for my birthday: I came up with 3 things, but my mom wasn't very keen on any of them. iPod Touch (I don't have one yet, but my mom isn't very hopeful on that idea because i ALWAYS ask for technology related things, :S) A new phone (My phone. is. horrible. Its so complicated and hard to use, but I've had it for less than a year, so I would seem kind of spoiled to ask for a new one) A cat? (I loooveee kitty's, but they are ALOT of work, and the last pet i had was 2 birds, my mom ended up doing all the work for me: cleaning their cage, giving them food etcc...) Things about me: Music.Is.My.Life. Seriously! I listen to music 24/7, and i play the piano :P My fav bands are: Billy Talent, Skillet, Bfmv, and best of all: Black veil brides<33 So I'm sorta bummed.... I really dunno what i want! :P Please, no CD's, Giftcard, Money, or troll answers :P Thankkss :)
